@Sharyn that’s awesome. I’m using the other method where I am taking COGS when it sells. Your way would be easier but it takes me so long to list things and I’ve always done it this way. I have notebooks with the price stickers I use at listing and later reconcile with the Ebay report. I should be using the custom I suppose but I didn’t know about getting that into the report until last year.
I definitely would like this feature but would prefer it’s on the listing profile. Every year I need to spend a couple of days doing my COGS.
Thanks Craig. I have been trying to contact Ebay daily. If you call the number about a selling problem, the AI will hang up on you. On the app if you want a call back regarding a defect it says that phone assistance is unavailable for that – what? I googled how to get a call back and got another (older?) page where I could request one. The rep tried to tell me that was a back end department and I couldn’t ask for a call back. I just told him I talked to them last week, so then we laughed together and he supposedly will have them call me today?
Meanwhile. I got some email from Ebay customerhelp@ebay.com. One said she would remove the defect from my angry buyer case (but it’s still there). Rest of the responses were nonsensical or not what I was asking for. 100% trying to get you to just resort back to the useless website loop. I read on the Ebay community threads that supposedly if you successfully complain 3 times they will cooperate. We’ll see. I also posted on their Facebook page but no response.
Re INAD #2 (the extreme zoom) no action by Ebay whatsoever, should be getting the item back today or tomorrow.
That’s a good summer week @Craig congrats.
Total listings: 309
New listings this week: 23
Items sold: 11
Gross sales: $615
Net sales: $374
Average sales price: $51
High sale of the week: $196 (two vintage Thai silk pillows)
COGS: $66
Sales were ok for this time of year. I had three items at a really great profit. Otherwise, I had to mark things way down.
It was probably my worst week morale wise on Ebay due to the two INADs coming back to back. I also am still trying to remove the first buyer’s feedback, which is ALL CAPs crazy as predicted. I’m going to shoot for this rule: “Personal attacks that could harm the reputation of the seller or their business and could not reasonably be viewed as constructive criticism”. My removal request was declined immediately buy the buyer – good because she has 10 days – and then auto-declined by Ebay.
Today I called and the person put me through to escalation team (would not help because it was the $2000 and over team) but nice because that person made sure the notes would show and requested a callback for me. The first person transferred me immediately, which was awesome. Earlier the AI bot answering the phone hung up on me while I kept repeating call back and agent. Lovely.
I didn’t buy much this week but did find a South American woven fish stack tapestry. It’s not artist signed but I got it at a good price and they are nicely made.

Really cool dragon print pillows. A buyer bought both from me this week. 🙂
listed 15 last week. Hope for a lot more this week. Have a market on Saturday to prep for as well.
Y’all I’m losing it a little bit this morning. I just got my second INAD in a row on a brand new item. Had sent the buyer pictures of the item all around in messaging. She took an EXTREME close up of the item (painting) and called it scratched. If EBay sides with her too, I might as well do free returns! My other buyer found some restraint and has not yet left feedback.
I’ve had one INAD before these in all my time (also false). It took a year for that negative feedback to fall off.
Need to listen to Jay’s old podcast discussions to be reasonable.
I saw the Broadporch Coffee wagon in a Youtube video about Lucketts Market. 🙂
I bought six educational no screen coding games. It’s kind of random for me but they are brand new. I hope they are not too long tail…
@Craig it depends on how long it’s been listing and what I paid for it. Anywhere between 15-33%, a few 50%.
Ebay did decide in her favor, which is really frustrating. Also I reported her violating the return policy and they have no record of the report, yet am blocked from filing another report. No feedback yet. She just got refunded. I went on this lady’s feedback page and there is good feedback but a few IN ALL CAPS craziness and other sellers reporting problems with her, including her using profanity. I should have just taken the hit. 🙁
@VL A lot of the Portland Youtubers say picking Europe is amazing.
I created 17 new listings, mainly yesterday. I listed a bunch of stuff I just bought that was a pain to list, but at least I got it done. Large banquet table linens, a large art glass platter, XL serving bowl. I did get good prices for these, but questioning myself for sure.
@Antiquefrog I found a cool ship decanter last week but sadly it was missing the stopper. I loved the nautical, etched design. I’ve been challenging myself with the clear glass for about 9 months. You get used to spotting the quality.
