That’s the eBay information page. I believe your dimensions have to be within the allowed size range and you have to set the weight to 3oz or less for them to give you the option to select eBay Standard Envelope. It’s not like First Class where you can just put 1Lb or less.
You’re not alone! On the other group I’m in, there are a lot of complaints about this, but it doesn’t happen to everyone. I think that’s why eBay is struggling to solve it.
Nicely done! One of the reason that’s Stephen’s videos are so popular is because he gets straight to the point, and I see you have too. Some cool sales there!
Congrats to everyone for listing this week! Except me, LOL! VT wiped us all off the table with her listings, being over double what anyone else managed! Spreadsheet updated.
Next week is the last week of the August challenge. The month ends on Tuesday, so you have until Tuesday to list items that need a little work, post your final numbers by Wednesday.
For planning purposes, the September challenge is Textiles! The challenge begins on September 1st.
Have fun, y’all! Go list!
My sincerest hope that this is my last week of zero for the year. However, I can now show what’s been taking up my time! We had a charity show this weekend, our belly dance troupe was the primary performance, and it was a huge hit. We did three sets – to open, midway, and to close the evening. The first was what we jokingly refer to as our “fruit salad costume” due to it being multi-colored. I was so busy sewing costumes for everyone else that I only started mine on Wednesday by sewing the skirt, then on Thursday sewing the top. I didn’t have time to finish either and was doing last minute alterations to the other costumes on Friday after our full dress rehearsal on Thursday night, so for the actual performance I was pinned into it all.
Next up was a folkloric set. Here is my labor! I made ten dresses in total, from scratch, including all the decorations; the paillettes (coin looking things), necklines, and even the belts.
Our last set was a troupe costume themed around Fire, with red, black and gold.
The event was a huge success, despite gales that blew our veils away, our hair into our glitter and make up, and our costumes around so badly that it upset our choreography! We just laughed our way through it. I slept the entire day on Saturday, I was just shattered! And I had the day off yesterday too, if you can call spending the entire day washing costumes and putting away all the paraphernalia I hauled to the event.
In 7 weeks we have our Student Showcase, 3 weeks after that our Witches Dance, and 7 weeks after that the Advanced Troupe Solos, though for all but the Witches Dance, the costumes are pretty much done, so I am planning to sew only in the evenings and get some listings up for the 4th quarter during the day!
08/18/2021 at 12:06 pm in reply to: How to make corrections to ebay product catalog information #90395You can do it faster in the mobile app. Go to List an Item and choose the barcode option on the right (left is a keyboard option.) Click it, and point your camera over the barcode. You don’t have to do anything, it will auto read if it finds a readable barcode. Works on any readable barcode that is in the system.
Sharyn, LOL, good catch. Yup! When I was a kid I was in the hospital so often, my folks were on a first name basis with most of the ER staff. Once I had to overnight for observation (again!) and I exclaimed about the fabulous new Children’s Ward. “Yes,” one of the nurses whispered confidentially, “your parents paid for it.” I barely slept a wink that night, in terror of the ass-whooping I was going to get the next day when my folks saw the bill! š
VL, it’s not the not listing that scares me, the not-sewing is going to bite my tail! 54 hours left until the full dress rehearsal and I haven’t evenĀ started my costume yet! LOL
Thanks for all the wishes, everyone. Healing well, stitches out on Thursday.
Spreadsheet updated. Jaepete, you win the week as the ONLY Elf to list a thing! New record, folks. This is the first time since the TELC started that only one person has put something on the board! Not sure this is a goal we want to repeat, but it’s worth remarking! LOL.
Good morning, all.
Double whammy this past week led to my big, fat goose egg!
Due to the dance show I have this Friday AND as I somehow had a brain fart and completely missed the eBay Open, I sat in front of the computer for 3 days and worked my way through dozens of the YT videos, sewing as I watched.
Then on Thursday, I had another brain fart while out collecting eggs at dawn, and forgot how to walk in a straight line. Or something. I tripped over a rusty metal chicken crate, gouging my ankle and scratching up my legs, then bounced off, ripping a hole in my arm (all this in the space of less than 2 seconds!) 4 hours in Emergency and I have 7 stitches. The before photo is gory, but here’s a sanitized 2-day old photo where you can see my impressive shark bite! Yup, that’s what it looks like! I’m trying to work out a really cool story to tell about the scar! LOL
Good morning, y’all!
VT wins again with her terrific numbers for last week. With all the heavy hitters away this week, it will be interesting to see who takes the crown.
Dang it, VL, can’t we share? You know, I’ll use it for a couple days, then we’ll switch? LOL Sending you best wishes that you can get through everything on your plate!
12 for me! Woot woot! And of those, 2 fit the Challenge.
Unfortunately, there’s a pretty good chance my numbers will be low this week. I have 10 days left to get 6 galabeyas (folkloric dance dresses) ready for a performance. It takes me about 4-5 days to sew one dress, stitching in the evenings after work. So 6 dresses in 10 days is a teeny time issue.
Anyone have a time machine to lend me? One of those watch thingies that Hermione used in the Harry Potter series?
The Nadras Indian one sold for $124.99 in 2014
The American Antique vintage black sold for $20.50 in 2014
The other two sold for $299.99 in 2019 (Turkish) and 2020.
July Challenge Results!
The winner is…. drum roll… VL, with an impressive 50 items!
2nd place goes to Sharyn with 17; and 3rd goes to VT with 11.
Jaepete, JB, JR, and I all get a participation point.
Well done, everyone. This turned into quite a busy challenge!
Now, on to August and get some cleaning, fixing, and fussing done!
Greetings, y’all!
For the life of me, I cannot fathom why I didn’t post the spreadsheet yesterday. IĀ updated it yesterday…. Brain fart, I guess!
Okay, VT takes the win again! Well done, VT.
VT, goal amended as requested. Jaepete, still waiting for your goal number.
JR, only way to go from here is UP! Even if you just list one, it’s an improvement! I challenge you to list one this week. Double dog dare you to find the 15 minutes!
VT and Utahbill – you’re living my dream. That’s what I want, to be unable to hit a listing goal because I’m selling as fast as (faster?) than I list! I would LOVE for my store to be growing backwards even though I’m listing like crazy. (Not because I’m not listing, as is currently the case!) Congratulations, Utahbill, on achieving your half century!
Jaepete, if you go with a count of #listings at the beginning deducted from #listings at the end, you will be out due to sales, etc. Best to just jot down your numbers on a daily basis. You can have a post it next to your listing space, or a white board or similar. Do a quick count basis, like 4 marks with the 5th mark crossing out the 4. Then you can count it up easily at the end of the week. Or have a listing buddy and send each other your numbers on a daily basis. Quick to count up from your text/emails. Thanks for the link to the video. Will watch later when I have a break. Your photo looks great, I do like the idea.
Good morning all!
New month, new challenge! As discussed last week, you may continue with the July challenge today and post your final numbers tomorrow.
August challenge is NEEDS WORK!
Must something be soldered, stitched, or serviced? Do you have to bathe, brush, or blot? Rebuild, refurbish, repair? This month is the time to get these things out of the corner and into the shop. It doesn’t matter if it’s small and insignificant, like sewing on a button, or polishing some shoes, or if it’s major like doing a complete rewiring and replacing parts – it counts!
This is the challenge for things that take more than a quick swipe to be able to list, you have to sit down for a few minutes or a few hours, pull out some tools and clean that stuff up. Put dishes in the dishwasher (hats and caps too, while you’re at it!) Throw fabrics in the washing machine. Pile shoes up in the mudroom and sit down with an audiobook and a shoeshine kit. If you lot up your items by the tools you need to get the job done, you can then clean in one go, and list with Sell Similar. All those items that you’ve promisedĀ yourself you’ll do when you get around to it? Yeah, this month is your Tuit – and it’s a Round Tuit!
You are welcome to double up today, list for the July Challenge AND the August Challenge, as you wish, but July Challenge numbers will go up tomorrow and then it’s over.
Welcome Jaepete, good to have you with us! I’ve added you to the spreadsheet. It’s sorted in alphabetical order. And you’re even on the board with the Challenge! Go you! You will see there’s a section with Personal Goal: that’s for us to keep track of how much we’re listing (YTD = Year to Date) vs how much we planned to list (Goal = number of listings per week multiplied by number of weeks to date.) I amended the formula to only start from this week, and put in your weekly goal as 7, just to kick it off. If you would let me know what you want as your weekly goal, I’ll amend accordingly.
Please would you link the YT video here? I missed that conversation and would love to see it.
Hi, Utahbill, good for you to list even when you have bad news! Wishing you a full recovery or resolution to your health issue.
Spreadsheet updated.
