FFS!!! I’ve now tried connecting my bank by logging in, and I know it worked bc they sent me their verification text (the bank, not eBay) as well as the manual way using the routing number and eBay still says they can’t log in.
I’m really not happy about the hoops I have to jump through to give my personal information to eBay.
Just a caveat – egg cartons can crush. I received some plates packed with egg cartons and thought it was a great idea, so started using them. Until an item arrived broken. The photos clearly showed the egg cartons were crushed. Now I’m more careful. I use egg cartons as filler, then add packing peanuts or something. I use less peanuts, but have the added protection than just the egg cartons alone.
Good morning, y’all!
Last week of this thread. Am I correct that only ChristineR, Sharyn, and Vintage Lacy completed June Challenge boxes?
VL, if you’d post the Christmas in July in the new thread?
Spreadsheet updated, Libby wins again.
Remember, please, if you want to change your listing goals, now is a good time.
I registered and now they tell me that I have to sort out my bank account because it’s not connecting. )*&GIELKJ(O*&(*&YU!
Anyone else having difficulty connecting their bank account?
Wow, how did this one slip through the cracks? I’ve used Google Shopping as a buyer for years. It never occurred to me it could be a platform as a seller.
One caveat, I noticed a comment about those who “have a website with a shopping platform can sell” or words to that effect. So Mike, busy with his Shopify account, might qualify, but I’m not sure if any of us will.
Hey folks, still a zero from me.
Spreadsheet updated, Libby wins. Bet you didn’t expect that! *wink*
Okay, some admin.
1. June Challenge – the Death Pile Box
Come ON folks. Just one box. One box of any size or weight or shape. Surely you can do just one teeny box this week? I dare you. I double dog dare you!2. Thread #2 end
This will be the last week in this thread, as after Monday’s results next week, I will create Thread #3 for the third quarter. This is a great time to “clean house” and revisit your listing goals. Is your goal number too high? Too low? Let me know and I can adjust it going forward. Do I have any numbers incorrect? Did I misspell your name? Always good to start a new thread with a clean up of the old spreadsheet and a revision of goals.3. July Challenge
Christmas in July was suggested by Vintage Lacy in Reply Post #74915 of Thread #1 and yes, I had to go search for it to see who was responsible. VL – will you consider how you want to put the Challenge together? You’ll need to post that on July 1st.Have a great week, y’all!
I clicked on the box clebay refers to when I had my surgery, left the end date open, and have had no problems with orders.
Before you toss them… I sell magazines. I photo the front, the contents page, and if there is one, the pattern insert. I try to mention a hook in my title that’s not on the front page, like a pattern or technique. Depending on the brand, anywhere from $12 to $18 free shipping. ($18 for the heavy ones that can’t go First Class.) Yes, they can’t ship Media Mail, although I know of some scofflaw sellers who do. Each magazine is placed in a plastic bag with a SKU label* stuck on it for easy find, and they’re all stored in the bottom drawer of a filling cabinet. Out of sight, out of mind. I too had subscriptions and dozens of magazines taking up multiple shelves. I too thought I’d just donate them. However, they’ve become a “don’t feel like working hard today” easy list item, and they sell on an ongoing basis, one magazine at a time. I’m very happy to let them just chug along.
*SKU is easy. I got some Avery labels and printed out a batch of consecutive numbers. I use the code B for all books and mags, so I printed labels as B1, B2, B3 etc. Then I just slap on the next one on the sheet, input that number into my SKU field on my listing, stuck it in the drawer. And I can use Sell Similar.
Reading over that ^ today, I realized it didn’t make sense. Example to illustrate.
Selling price $27.99, you would accept $18. Round selling price to $28, difference is $10, halved plus 7% is $5.35. Add $5.35 to $18 to get $23.35
Mathematical calculation to come up with a number:
Current asking price, less the minimum you would actually accept, divided by half, and add 10%.
If you have a calculator handy, add 7% instead of 10%.
It results in a whackadoodle number that makes the buyer think you actually thought seriously about it.
