So Cal Joe, go make friends with somebody at Home Depot. They throw away a ton of shipping material every day. Bubble wrap, that squishy stuff that is like paper but it’s foam, packing peanuts, plastic bags, etc.
You are correct. The search term, though, turned out to be “travel tie case”
Thanks whiskey.
Best price on Worthpoint is $49 for an unplayed, pieces still in plastic wrappers, game. Most of the others, used, went for about $25.
Thanks, BwBark, that would be great!
I generally throw everything washable into the machine and dryer, fold immediately it comes out, and 90% of the wrinkles are gone. For non-washables, I have a steamer that I got at a thrift for $5. I didn’t used to do minor repairs, but I’m finding that a quick button sewn on or seam repaired can add to the sales price. Generally, repairs get put aside and I’ll pick them up in the evening and do a couple items as I’m winding down. (Like grandmas who used to knit while watching TV. LOL)
One sold for $600 last year in the U.K. Best price I found in the U.S. is $400. Go for $600 with best offer?
For ease of folks searching, here’s a snippet from Dan’s last post on the comments, dated 03/18/2016. He’s referring to posting on CL for hiring
In the content I basically said I sell on ebay and am looking for someone to help me picture items for the purpose of selling them on ebay. I pay 50 cents per item. From my experience picturing between 15-20 items per hour is the average output. This will be a 1099 independent contractor position. Please message me if you are interested and I can provide further details.
Thanks Retro! Found the podcast
Scavenger Life Episode 238: How to Find Reliable People to Photograph and List Your Items on eBay
Re choosing what parts of the business to sub, I wasn’t looking to sub any of it. This lady needs the cash, does photography beautifully, and offered. If she had offered to do any of the other stuff, I’d be at a loss to find a reason to hire her, because I’m pretty quick with it. But the photos are my biggest issue and take the most time out of my day, so I’m grateful to be able to explore an alternative.
I combine steps (1) and (3) because I’ve learned that I can use the research to create my titles. Also, if the item turns out to be worthless (as in, sell it for $5) I don’t waste time taking photos and packing it up into storage. So I choose a group of 10 items, research them to create titles and a price, create my draft with that info. Then photograph. Return to the listing for final check (sometimes new faults show up on the camera that I didn’t catch when creating the draft) and add in shipping weight and dimensios.
Hi Lauren,
Great start! Wish I’d been able to start in college. 😀
Jealous, jealous, jealous! 😀 But very happy for you! That’s wonderful!
I seem to be doing 3 steps forward, 2 steps back, but inching upwards. Congratulations on getting where I want to be!
That looks a lot like a State Dept eagle, but I’m stumped.
Good God, these Scavenger Elves are incredible!
Certificate folders. Like you’d use for certificates or awards or diplomas. It’s used as the folder to hold the paper certificate/award/diploma during the presentation.
