This link was passed on to me and I think some of you may find it helpful in the future. Youtube channel is ‘RalliRoots’ and they seem to be reasonably above board and hard working. The young man is very positive and appears to be pretty sharp. Anyway, interesting case of them getting ‘scammed’ by a buyer and how things played out from there. Video starts at relevant time:

I have seen RalliRoots before. Good folks…
Interesting take on this issue. Always something I’m concerned about. Never happened to me, but I like to think about how to cover off different issues…

This seems like a good example that we brought up about how eBay is now dealing with returns: they are not getting involved and just siding with the buyer.
I’d love to hear other people’s experience if they call about an unfair return.

Jay,
I was just wondering if you or Ryanne might have had the opportunity to follow-up with ebay about your case and the fact that is a Guaranteed Delivery case before an INAD case which means you guys should be covered and not lose your money. -

“… I don’t think our issue would have got fixed if we didn’t have the following and the clout that we have …” (at 5:29 in the video)
Exactly. If we have this issue, we’re up the proverbial creek.
I read somewhere (sorry, Jay, can’t remember where) that one solution is to open the parcel in front of the post office employee, then you can place a claim of mail fraud with a postal employee as witness. In theory, this seems like a workable solution. Take a print out of the paperwork on the return, open the parcel in front of the employee, and get them to sign as witness if it’s not what was supposed to be shipped. If you have a case number with the post office, perhaps eBay would take you more seriously.

Super-interesting that the social media people told the Roots to call them if you have a return. I wonder how that works for those of us without an online social presence.

I think they meant: “Before you make a popular video saying how bad an eBay interaction was, tel us so we can fix it for you.”

I met Ryan an Alli of Ralliroots last weekend at reseller meetup they coordinated in Tampa. They are great people and yes, they could be models. They do an amazing volume of business, which I have never doubted. Just today I noticed that Terapeak changed and now allows searches by seller ID again. Ralliroots’ sales for past 12 months: $151,842 on just their public account (they have another that they don’t disclose). That’s in addition to their Amazon sales, mentoring and wholesale sales to other resellers. Wow! Impressive! I almost forgot, that doesn’t include YouTube revenue. There are viewers who routinely gift them $50, $100 and $200 via SuperChat during their live shows (YouTube keeps 30%).

They are very cool people! I have been watching some of the videos and I appreciate their amazing energy and helpfulness. They do a lot of free shipping so their gross sales include that but still they do a huge volume of sales. They have a full time employee and they pay someone to do their bookkeeping so they have some overhead.

When I have an issue that I need help with, I send Ebay for business a personal message through Facebook. I feel like they understand better than speaking to someone on Ebay’s phone support lines. It can take a few hours up to a day to get a reply, but I still get my issue resolved, and I have it in writing.

The situation addressed in the video was infuriating. I must now google pictures of baby animals to calm myself down.

I feel you Julie B!
Sue, I am going to try that in the future. I get so frustrated sometimes with the phone help but I will say that the last few calls did go smoothly.
