Jay – what about hats? You say you’re team floor, but do you photograph hats on the floor too? Beanies I could understand, but ball caps and structured hats must require a head, surely?
Just think of the awesome figure you’d have! π
I did. It doesn’t. π Thanks, though.
That’s why I bought this one. It was only $46 with free shipping and all the extras included, so I figured it was worth the outlay.
08/08/2017 at 8:43 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 322: Don’t Forget To Make Your Own Weekends #21559Andrew; on my shipments page it now shows me the time by which I need to ship an item. It says something like “must be shipped by 11:59PM PST” (can’t remember exactly and I’ve shipped all my orders.) It turned up recently and I think it’s a cool feature. Perhaps it’s in anticipation of the new GS program.
Stumbled across these when researching photography. I’ve never heard of Meerschaum Pipes before but they can go for a chunk of money!

Simon – you sell hats? I’m listing 100 of them. What kinds of hats do you sell and what’s the secret sauce to sell so many? Super interested! π
Doublythumbs – there’s an Afrikaans word “sterkte” (pronounce it phonetically) that is used for folks in your situation. It’s an odd word, in that it means ‘strength’ as a basis, but in the terms of may you find strength, have strength, receive strength and comfort. There is no English equivalent. It is generally used as an encouragement for folks going through a hard time, like a death in the family, or a catastrophic event. I can’t think of any more fitting wish for you other than that – may you find and receive strength to get you through this. The Elves are behind you!
These are great ideas, thank you!
I think I shall follow a combination of the advice and tell them that they’re welcome to browse my death piles for a big discount, but if it’s listed already (i.e. I’ve done all the work) I’ll allow them local pickup in order to save postage. They can also use my best offer system and I’ll process accordingly.
This feels good and fair. Such a privilege to have access to great advice. I love you guys!
We have a row of post boxes on the main highway, about two miles from our house. FedEx and UPS will deliver/pick up at the house, but USPS flat won’t. As the boxes are on the main highway with no locking mechanisms, I won’t leave anything in mine for collection. So, I have to drive the two miles on dirt road to the main road, over 3 low water crossings, then 8 miles to the Post Office over several crossings and a couple bridges.
Floods are a known issue in our area, an annual occurrence. We tend to make provisions like stocking emergency food, water, and fuel, but we don’t do much else, as they have to in tornado/hurricane areas of Texas, or for severe blizzards and stuff like you folk up north.
08/07/2017 at 5:58 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 322: Don’t Forget To Make Your Own Weekends #21494Thanks T-Satt. Looking forward to getting up to your numbers! π
Does your post person pick up your packages in any weather?
08/07/2017 at 1:35 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 322: Don’t Forget To Make Your Own Weekends #21476It will be declined. eBay seems to work on an “equal to or…” basis. I have had items declined when the offer was exactly my decline value, and accepted when the person added a penny. I’ve had folks add a quarter too, so I’ve been getting odd “offer” amounts! LOL
An absolutely fantastic week for me in terms of movement, not so much in terms of money. I finally made 300 listings and Top Rated Plus status, in the same week! For the first time ever, I’ve made a sale a day each day of August. Unfortunately the sales have mostly been low dollar, but as new seller I was less discerning in my selections and am learning to search for better inventory. I’m just so excited to be seeing this volume of sales now, and very motivated to build my store!
Do a burn test. If it’s pure wool, then list it as vintage tweed wool yarn, excluding the “harris” part. Pure wool is highly sought after and will get a good price.
Be grateful: Amazon has now introduced a new returns policy that allows automatically authorized returns and “returnless refunds” to all non-FBA clients.

The head has ram horns which made me think of Lucifer, as you can see in this photo, it’s the same style of curved horn. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_hybrid_creatures_in_mythology#/media/File:Backer_Judgment_(detail).JPG
I also thought of Hermes, but his twin snakes are more commonly wrapped around a staff (the caduceus) and not coming out of his mouth. Also, he’s not usually depicted with ram horns.
I don’t think that helps much, but perhaps it will trigger The Collective. π
