*blushing* Thanks guys.
A year in the business and the more I learn, the more I realize I don’t know! LOL
09/21/2017 at 4:03 pm in reply to: Ebay asking to open unpaid item cases on refunded and returned items? #23070What’s it a feature of?
Um… not sure if that asks the right question, and now I’m puzzled how to word it. How is it a feature? What’s the benefit of having it? If someone returns something through the eBay system and you refund them through the eBay system, what’s the point of having it show up as a potential unpaid item case?
Totally confused now.
Do you have an Amazon Echo? They’ve introduced something new called “Channels” which are like snippets of podcasts about different subjects. Quite interesting odds and ends.
With Steve’s videos, I turn it on then work on other stuff while I listen to what he’s saying, until he says something interesting, then I click over to see what he’s talking about. I love the “what sold” thread, and have learned some interesting stuff from here, but I just don’t have time to go through hours of video.
09/20/2017 at 12:51 pm in reply to: Ebay asking to open unpaid item cases on refunded and returned items? #23019I’ve had the same thing happened to me and I phoned eBay. They told me to just ignore it. The options to claim unpaid item drops away eventually. I find it annoying and distracting, but I’ve tried clicking the “cancel” button, to no avail.
“Youโre eligible for the eBay Money Back Guarantee as long as you contact your seller within 30 days of the estimated delivery date.”

(Bold highlight mine.) So, 8/12 would be day one.
That being said, eBay strongly advises leniency when dealing with buyer return requests, and the option to request a return stays open on the buyer’s purchase history page indefinitely.
Wow, Habnab for the WIN! That’s awesome! I love this community. ๐
09/11/2017 at 10:34 am in reply to: A SUPER Fast and Easy Way To Measure Clothes For Ebay Listings #22716Nice idea. I actually have one of those mats for my sewing, so I may just try this. Thanks for sharing!
To get stubborn stickers off, I’ve discovered that soaking an item in vinegar water works amazingly! For a metal item such as yours, I’d use a cloth to drench the area, then rub gently with the cloth, and repeat until the stickers come off. Then wash immediately with fresh water to remove the vinegar before it tarnishes. I’ve been astounded at how effective vinegar water is at removing stickers from various items.
Disclaimer: as always, test in an unconspicous area in case it removes anything it shouldn’t. ๐
If you look at the figures, you can see they’re sitting on the ground, you can see their legs in front of them. The artist has given them strange, long bodies and triangular hunched shoulders with their necks out. They are surrounded by fruit, squash (look for the long stalks), 2 different types of melons (look at the ends, the “stars” are shaped differently, and pineapples. At the back, the brown ones look like coconut.
At first glance, I thought this came from Ghana. Because of the basket of rice, it has to be somewhere in West Africa, and with the bamboo stalks, it’s a coastal area. That contributes to my suggestion of Ghana, although it could be Senegal, Sierra Leone, or Nigeria. As you have no way of knowing, I’d use “West Africa” as your keywords.

09/11/2017 at 9:46 am in reply to: 150'' by 43'' Bassetti Granfoulard Brand – What is This? Table Cloth? Blanket? #22708It’s hard to tell from a description as you’ve put, but it sounds like this might be a double cloth/ double weave / double-faced fabric. There is a throw made from a very similar fabric available here that you can check for keywords.
At 43″ the panel you have is too narrow for curtains. Most curtaining panels start at 52″ wide. I would say this is for decor/furnishing/upholstery. People will use it to make throws, cushion covers, upholster chair seats, duvet covers, and the like. It could be used as a table runner, but I doubt it, as a standard table runner is one third of the width of a table, so 10-15″.
You have just over 4 yards there. Folks who are looking for fabric price it by the yard, and at $70 you’re asking for nearly $18 per yard. I see you have watchers, so your price may be a little high, but as you have BO, I’d wait it out. Good luck! It’s a beautiful panel.
09/11/2017 at 9:20 am in reply to: Invoicing Shipping for Multiple items huge price discrepancy? #22703I’ve had buyers notify me that the estimated shipping that eBay shows on an offer they make is different to the actual shipping charge when I accept the offer and they have to pay for it. I think that eBay doesn’t work out the shipping to the particular address during the estimate period, but to a general vicinity. Once there’s a solid transaction, it calculates to the exact address and that makes the difference.
This is, of course, IMHO and I have zero factoids for Jay ๐ but as it has happened several times, I had to come up with some explanation to respond to my buyers and that’s my go-to. Buyers find it logical and accept it.
When I was selling multiple items on GTC, I had a similar problem. eBay advised that it has a “no stock” option. I can’t remember how to find it, but you can Google it easily enough. Basically, you set your sales to “no stock” and then, when an item sells out of its listed quantity and makes zero, it shows the item but as not available. It works on a “whole site” principle, so your entire store will then operate on that basis, but it prevents any sales going through when there’s no stock.
The biggest PITA about selling multiples on GTC with the no stock option is that you have to manually end every sale. I hated it, but it was just one more chore every morning. And I didn’t have to deal with cancelling a sale, so I guess the inconvenience was worth the trade off.
Great goals, there, Inglewood – even with dates! I’m impressed and a little envious! ๐
I read that Christmas decor doesn’t do well at Christmas time unless it’s vintage, new, or very unusual. Have you found that?
Last year was my first holiday season and I was too new to start gearing up at all. I had thought that I would get myself in order for this year, but I’ve had so many setbacks, it doesn’t look like I’m going to focus as much as I’d hoped.
What I plan to do is find a few items that I believe will do better over the holidays than any other time of the year (good for gifts, rather than general items) and list those. Apart from that, it will be “business as usual” for listing.
I read somewhere last year that there are so many sales being run by retailers for the holidays that there’s not really much point in competing, and also that people will tend to new or NWT rather than used. That is guiding my selection; I’m going for things that will not be influenced by condition or sales, such as paintings or unusual decor items.
It would be interesting to read what others are planning.
