Oh Amatino my heart goes out to you, nobody deserves such bad breaks coming all in a row. Very upsetting also to hear that a lot of your continued issues are the result of uninformed medical professionals. I hope there is a different pharmacy you can go to, I hate to think of you trusting your health in the future to a pharmacist who caused you such misery.
Sharyn, I also had shingles when I was about the age that you had it. I was told it’s very rare to get shingles in your early 20’s and I was misdiagnosed several times due to the fact that every doctor I went to had never seen it in someone so young. My outbreak was above my left eye and if hadn’t been for my husband calling our friend who was in medical school (who figured out that had shingles) I would have ended up blind in my left eye according to the optomologist I went to. Shingles was one of the most painful things I’ve ever gone through; Amatino I really feel for you! Wishing you a speedy recovery and only GOOD things for the rest of 2018 and beyond!

I’m at zero listings. Between our third set of house guests and packing to move I’m not finding any time for listing lately.
Wishing everyone good sales, time for lots of new listings and fun treasure hunting!

Amatino is everything okay? Hopefully I just missed something since I haven’t had a chance to read posts but you seem to be MIA?
08/29/2018 at 11:40 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #48157Hello bingbong, welcome to Trash Elves Twins Challenge 2018! You would post each Monday on this thread (until this thread is too long and Amatino starts a new thread, the next thread will have the same title but with Thread #4 at the end).
You don’t have to post photos of your deathpile to participate, I didn’t, although photos are probably a good self motivator. I also don’t count how many of my listings each week are from my deathpile. I just give the # I listed. I’m not currently buying any inventory (well, maybe a few things here and there to be completely honest:)) so at this point I consider everything I list as from my deathpile.
Please join us if you want motivation to list; I find it really helps my motivation to know I’ll have to report how many new listings I put up every week!
08/27/2018 at 10:30 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #48085Oops! I almost forgot to report my listing #, it doesn’t feel like Monday to me! I had 8 for the week. Mondays are my “free” day, no volunteer work or other set obligations, but I was rushing around all day today shopping for the new house. Usually I use Monday as a listing day so today was different.
We finally have our closing dates and have almost finalized our move in date, moving day will be around September 20. But we have 2 more sets of company coming before the move.
So glad to see you not reporting any more accidents Amatino! And Vintage Lacy, we just had our nephew as a houseguest too! Our nephew is 21, but now that I’m older 21 looks pretty similar to 12 to me 🙂 We did the same kind of stuff we’ve always done with him, bike riding, minature golf, arcade games, hiking. The only difference from when he was 12 is that now I need to sleep for 10 hours after he leaves!
Wishing everyone a wonderful week!
08/20/2018 at 9:51 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #47732Oops, that should have been 3 new listings!
08/20/2018 at 9:50 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #47731Hello Twins,
Only 2 new listings for me last week. Still super busy, but our second round of houseguests leave today.
Hopefully this week and next week will be better for listing. Hope you are all doing well and Amatino is accident free!08/12/2018 at 3:35 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #47314Hey Amatino – thank you so much for finding my listing # last week on the old thread. I thought it seemed strange that I was the only one to have posted when it was already Tuesday morning (I think?) but my brain was so fried with the house stuff I never got back to figuring it out.
My listing number is the same this week as last: 5. And even that was a struggle. Besides all the stressful house stuff, we are on our first of 4 sets of houseguests visiting us within the next 4 weeks. The timing isn’t great for guests since I’m trying to clean up, pack up and move at the same time, but it is what it is. So it’s probably going to be quite awhile before I’m able to get back in the groove as far as listing, unfortunately…
Amatino’s week sure made mine look like a cakewalk though, OMG what a week you had!!! Wishing you a peaceful and uneventful week this week Amatino – you are certainly due for one!
Anyway, we do have a contract on our house but it has to pass inspection before it’s a done deal so it’s not quite a fait accompli yet. Fingers crossed!
08/07/2018 at 8:29 am in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #2 From Week 19 (May 7-13) #47011Hey Twins!
5 new listings for me last week; I haven’t had time for much of anything besides cleaning and packing. I haven’t even heard the podcasts or read the comments since returning from eBay Open. Hope to at least catch up with the Challenge comments soon!
Hope you all are doing well and enjoying the last month of summer!
I also thought Hillbilly Elegy was well worth reading. Right now I’m reading “Promise” by Minrose Gwin and it is wonderfully written. It’s fiction but with a real event as the premise: the F5 tornado that hit Tupelo, Mississippi on 4/5/36. A real eye-opener on how minorities were treated in the deep south back in the day.
07/29/2018 at 5:54 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #2 From Week 19 (May 7-13) #46385Thanks Amatino! You can go ahead and put me down for zero for this week, that’s my #, sad to say. I do feel pretty good (so far) that after moving most of my inventory from the second floor to my garage, I’ve still been able to find the items to fulfill the few sales that I’ve made this week.
If anyone ever wondered if listing every day has a big impact on sales I can say for sure that it does! I think I’d listed (at least 1 new item) on eBay everyday for the last 3 weeks previous to eBay Open. And the week before I left for eBay open was my highest grossing week ever, $800 something, which is really great for me. Then the week of eBay Open was probably my lowest grossing week since I’ve had a store. I posted zero new listings during eBay Open week. If I can manage I’ll post the stats on both those weeks as a FYI for everyone, but that depends on how many showings we continue to have…
Eeek! 6 dozen moves! Did you even unpack all the boxes inbetween moves? I think I would have just hauled them packed from place to place!
07/28/2018 at 8:32 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #2 From Week 19 (May 7-13) #46354Hey Sharyn, in answer to your questions: I live in Colorado. As to what is spurring the house purchase, I just was never crazy about the house I live in now. Although it’s lovely, it’s just not really my style. Yes, I am expanding my eBay space, and I wanted a bigger house overall than I have now, with better mountain views. The house we are buying is newer, with better finishes and it’s 1/3 bigger (not including the basement) than our current house. We don’t have a basement or a usable attic in the current house. I think and hope I will like the area I’m moving to more. So I’m stoked and excited but as everyone knows it’s pretty stressful to keep your house in perfectly clean condition for showings. We’re hoping to get an offer really quickly, we had 10 showings in the first 2 days. Fingers crossed!
07/27/2018 at 11:17 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #2 From Week 19 (May 7-13) #46315First of all I want to apologize for not posting my # on Monday!
I left for eBay Open on Monday and I thought I would post on Monday morning before I left, but we stumbled upon a house for sale, saw it, put an offer on it and put our house on the market on Sunday. So I ended up carrying 50 bankers boxes of eBay inventory from the 2nd floor bedroom I work out of down to our garage in the hours before I got on the plane on Monday, plus I tried to get my very messy house ready for showings while I was in Las Vegas!
In all the tumult I completely forgot about bringing my password with me so I could post from Vegas instead.
Anyway, with all the getting ready to go to Vegas and house stuff I only listed 12 last week, and probably this week is going to be a zero with all that’s going on. I really need to get on my closets before some nosy prospective buyer opens one and gets killed my the avalanche of my unlisted and hidden eBay inventory.
Hello, I just got home from eBay Open 2018; I met T-Satt’s group (and Sharpp) there and they are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life! Sigilini you are 100% correct, T-Satt is King! Anyway, in answer to Sharyn’s question: EBay executives opened with apologies for the recent glitches and issues with the site. After that I didn’t personally hear a ton of sellers talking about it very much. I thought it would come up a lot more in the Q & A portions of the workshops and pop-ups, but not so much, at least not at the ones I attended.
Thanks Simon, that worked!
