Hello All,
I’m posting early because I’m going out of town again in the morning. Just 2 new listings for me. Going out of town sure isn’t helping me get things listed! On a positive note: I have kept to my resolution to workout 3 times a week (I’m 100% at that since late December). Which meant I worked out this week on Wed, Thurs and Friday. Ouch.
I’m wondering if Vintage Lacy actually won last week due to Libby missing the submission deadline? I know that was the only way I once beat Libby – she’s a listing machine!!! I need a lot more Libby in my life!
Wishing everyone a great week!

Wishing everyone a great week ahead!
Ummm, I listed zero this week and I am hanging my head in shame. On a positive note, I have no place to go but up from here.
Great job everyone else!
Wishing everyone a great week ahead.
Whoo-hoo Vintage Lacy, you are killing it!!!
My sad total for the week was 13 new items. I’m working on sorting through a bunch of dolls and doll clothes I collected about 20 years ago that I plan to sell. I made most of the clothes, but never quite finished a lot of them, so getting those all done and ready to sell is taking forever. Should be decent $ when I finally get them listed though.
Amatino, thank you for the link for the bag, I’d already cut a bag out but it may end up too small so I may use your link yet! I hope you are back to feeling well now…
Also, ouch on the new USPS rates. I just mailed a 13 ounce package 4 states away and the postage was $5.24. I’ve never charged over $5.00 for up to 16 ounces, on 13 ounces I’d have charged just over $4.00. (I’ve always used a flat rate for postage). Gonna have to change to calculated and weigh everything from now on! Of course I’m too lazy to change all my current listings so I’ll be eating some postage on those…
Wishing everyone a great week!
Hello Challengers!
Only 10 new listings for me; I expected my week to be “too busy to list” and it was. I just joined a knitting group so I’m learning that. Added on to the other sewing projects I’ve got going I feel like I have zero time that’s not dedicated to either household chores or hobbies. But it’s all good!
Amatino, congrats on the panty sewing. That’s something that really HAS to fit right and can be tricky. I once made a pair from a free on-line pattern that fit perfect. I’ll have to look for that pattern… I’m currently working on a quilted bag to hold my knitting and some doll clothes to hopefully up the price (or at least add that something extra) on some Sasha dolls I’ll be listing.
Also working on cleaning up the basement death piles. Sigh.
Wishing everyone a great week!
01/20/2019 at 10:00 pm in reply to: Post a photo of something that was awkward or embarrasing to buy! #55469I don’t have the photo now but my most embarrasing buy was 20 pairs of vintage sheer nylon granny panties at a nickel each. The estate sale cashier who had to count them all picked up each pair with just the very tips of her fingers and dangled them as far away from her body as possible, as if she were handling a dead rat. I guess someone else had put them all in the box I found them in, because the cashier was absolutely horrified that anyone would would choose to touch, much less buy, someone else’s old panties.
I thought it was pretty hilarious, especially after I sold the first 2 pair I listed for over $100. But I was embarrassed at the time – everyone behind me in line to pay was staring at me and I guess wondering who I was buying panties for, since they were obviously too large for me.
Hi Challengers!
For week #2 I added 42 new listings. Again a really good week for me but I know next week I’ll have a lot less new listings – I have a very busy week ahead.
Libby, you are amazing! How do you manage to list so many items? I don’t have children and even when my husband is out of town I can’t list that many items in a week. Are you selling similar items and using sell similar? Ladies, we have some stiff competition this year, better get cracking 🙂
I had a run of 27 days of at least one sale each day. Then on Saturday it came to a grinding halt. So even though I kept telling myself “it’ll end, don’t get bummed” of course I was:( Anyway I have sales again so back to the grindstone.
Wishing you all a great week ahead with lots and lots of sales!

UPDATED 12/28/18Sellers, you may notice late shipment metrics on your seller dashboard due to the December 5 National Day of Mourning. We are working to remove those metrics by the first week of January. These metrics will not be reflected in your January 20 seller evaluation and will have no impact on your seller performance.
There is no need to contact eBay to have these metrics removed; they will happen automatically. Thank you for your patience as we make these changes.
Original article
USPS has announced very limited operations for December 5, 2018, in observance of the National Day of Mourning for the passing of President George H.W. Bush.
As such,
All Post Office locations will be closed.
Regular mail will not be delivered.
Package delivery will be limited.eBay will automatically protect your Seller Performance and your late shipment rate will not be impacted for USPS shipments during this closure (any defects incurred will be removed and correctly reflected in your monthly seller evaluation).
And remember, as a holiday best practice, please ensure to handle within or faster than your handling time.
Thank you for selling on eBay.”
I feel your pain: until this week every time I’ve taken a defect because I couldn’t find an item I’ve found it later, in exactly the place where thought it was – but I just didn’t see it for some reason.
So far (twice) after I’ve found the item I messaged the person who bought it, let them know I found it and then resold the item to them. If only I could reverse the defects since I ended up actually selling the items to the original buyers, albeit a month later.
However, this week I sold an item that I had donated a month ago, thinking it would never sell. The listing sat in my unsold listings for awhile because I fogot to delete it and then I relisted all my unsolds. It sold right away. Oops! Another defect.
Welcome Libby!
Just post your new listing number every Monday on this thread. Amatino adds each participants amount on the dropbox spreadsheet every week, you don’t have to do anything there.
Glad to have you join us, but I’m also glad you missed the first post deadline, since that means I get to keep my point – LOL!
Hi Amatino!
The dropbox works, nice job! I think my YTD is wrong though. Could you check it?
I’ll head over to the old thread for your highlights…
Thanks!
Hello All,
Happy New Year! I posted 31 new listings, which is a pretty good listing week for me.
Amatino would you consider sharing some highlights of your trip? I’d love to hear about it!
Wishing everyone a great week!

Vintage Lacy: I’m so sorry to hear the news about your Dad. I hope he has had a joyful life up to now and may the rest of his time here be full of love. My heart goes out to you and your family.
On to business matters: I managed 12 new listings. But I’m pretty sure I’ll do better for the first week of 2019, I did 10 yesterday 🙂 I’m off of my hating eBay phase. I wouldn’t say I’ve moved on to the loving eBay phase yet, but I have sold at least one thing every day for the last 2 weeks and that helps!
Thank you everyone who participated in this thread in 2018, especially Amatino for creating the challenge and doing all the work to run it. You’ve all inspired me and kept me going during the times when I’ve felt like eBay sucked. I’m in for next year!
Wishing everyone a great 2019!!!
12/24/2018 at 3:02 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #53963Vintage Lacy, my heart goes out to you regarding your Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you both for a speedy and complete recovery.
I had just 7 new listings this week, but otherwise it was a great week filled with celebration and love, so it’s all good here.
Amatino, I hope you are having a wonderful time in England!
Happy Holidays to everyone!
12/17/2018 at 1:47 pm in reply to: Trash Elf Twins Challenge 2018 Thread #3 From Week 31 August #53531Hello All:
Just got back from a 3 day weekend in Toronto with my husband, it’s so lovely there, we had a great time! I managed to list 5 new items before we left and I’m hoping to ramp up the listings a bit from here on out. BUT we just returned from Canada, my birthday is this week, plus our nephew is coming to stay with us for the 4 days before Christmas. So I doubt I’ll be ramping up this week!
I’m with you ladies on working out, I need to do that more. I’m shooting for the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. But I probably won’t get serious with that until 2019.
Wishing everyone a great week!
