Jay I see where you are coming from but it’s how I stay competitive and make decent money with only 400 items in 2 stores. I sell alot of small heavy items to the west coast (I live out east). Where y’alls listing will say $25 dollar or more shipping mine says 14.35. Makes all the difference in my market. I tied the offer multiple shipping options thing a few years ago and people couldn’t figure out how to understand it and all I got was questions about why is the shipping so high because at the time ebay posted the priority shipping option first on the listing. Maybe different now but I’m not going to try and go back. My model is working good now. Just had to spend 6 hrs behind Ebays pile up. It’s in the rear view mirror now and I’m cruising forward. 😎
Yea PS it’s all FLAT RATE LISTINGS!!! That includes padded, legal, small flat rate, medium flat rate, large flat rate and regular flat rate envelopes. If you offer any of these as a shipping option you are probably effected.
Well 6 hours later I think I fixed all my listings. Jay and Ryan I guarentee with 8k plus listings you have messed up listings. We have 2 stores with about 400 total listings. We had about 3/4 of our listings screwed up still today after Ebay said they fixed the problem sitewide this morning. I will say the did fix the first class issue. As of yesterday all my fist class listings were jacked too. Cant wait to see what other helpful changes the role out with the next seller update 🤪
As of today it’s just affecting flat rate boxes. Monday it was all my items. I think this is as good as ebay is gonna get on fixing the problem. I sell mainly heavy smaller items so I ship 90% of my items flat rate or regional boxes so it hit me hard.
OK I found a work around. Probly the same thing retro treasures WV is doing. It is not a shortcut by any means. Luckily I have 2 stores so what I did was look up one of my stores and go through item by item. If you see an item for sale and it just says plus shipping underneath that is an item that will need fixed. So I basically went through my entire second store and wrote down all the listings that needed to be revised. Then I went through and revised each 1 at a time. the trick is that you need to make the shipping size small so you will be able to use any kind of medium flat rate, regional Box, ETC. My suggestion would just be put 4 by 4 by 4 down if you think that will work. Now this is not a complete fix but this will at least allow people to see how much shipping costs are. However if you have a bigger item and didnt pay attention to the size when you made the listing (Like I Did) you will likely get bent over when the item actually sells and you go to purchase your label. I’ll deal with that issue another week!!!
Retro Treasures WV. What are you doing to fix them? Are you going through item bt item and editing the size of each one? To a generic 4x4x4 or something so it will allow buyers to see the shipping costs? If so I guess that’s what I will do too.
Yes it’s a huge problem. Glad it’s not Q4 and glad I have a day job. Its killing my sales.
I have been doing the 0x0x0 work around after an item sells but that doesnt solve the problem with my shipping costs not being able to be viewed by potential buyers on around 250 items.
I called yesterday. Said they were working on it. But I have a sneaky suspicion I am going to have to change the dimensions of all my items. What a pain in the a$$. Does anyone know if you can bulk edit dimensions or are we going to have to go item by item? I just want to bulk edit to 4x4x4 and move on becuase this is starting to affect my sales and I am getting sick of people messaging me about shipping costs.
My father, wife, and I are having the same problem. Having people message they cant pay and some thinking it was free shipping when the bought it. Just called ebay. They said it is a problem for most sellers and they are working on it around the clock. Also told me this same glitch caused some people to not be able to print their labels after payment. This is just an FYI.
01/22/2019 at 12:42 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 395: What Lifestyle Is eBay Supporting For You? #55596Just wanted to give you a follow up response to the lady who called in and is getting dinged on late shipping. She said over the last few months she has changed her handling time a few times using the bulk editor. I have had the same problem in the past. The problem is that if you have submitted offers to potential buyers ebay will not allow you to edit the handling time on that item. So if in the last 48 hrs someone sent you an offer and you countered them ebay will not change the handling time on that item. So as time goes on and you keep bulk changing your handling time you will inevitably have several items with the wrong handling time. Then when they sell you might think u have 2 or more days to ship but in reality they are still same day or 1 day handling. This has happened to me when I was gone for 3 weeks on a work trip and kept changing the handling time to count down. Then the following month I couldn’t figure out why I was getting late shipping dings.
From all the problems I am having with my account I wouldn’t do it. They can’t seem to sync their site to ebay anymore.
Well the Bonanza drama returns. Last night I had 2 more items sell that had sold on ebay months ago. Funny how bonanza says they fixed my syncing problem 2 weeks ago. So this morning I refunded the buyer and sent in a seller fee refund with Bonanza. Then about 20 minutes later I get this email from them. “We notice you’ve recently processed a high number of refunds in your Bonanza booth: 33% of your sales. Guidelines for selling on Bonanza suggest that the amount of refunds processed by our sellers should remain at about 5%.
Frequent refunds can lead to negative feedback from buyers, so we try to limit seller-initiated refunds when we can. An excessively high refund rate will put your booth at risk of being placed on hold.
If you find that you often have inventory on Bonanza that should not be there, we can usually fix this problem with a quick eBay sync tune up. Please visit your booth today to ensure that all your merchandise is current and available for sale.”
Well as soon as I get my 15 bucks back as a refund I’m cancelling my account. Bye bye Bonanza. Another “ebay killer” bites the dust. I should have canceled it 2 weeks ago. O well lesson learned.
Sorry they were good till canceled with make offer.
Forgot to mention. I also was not getting notified of the sale either. This last time I got an email from bonanza asking if I had shipped the item yet. It has been 5 business days. I had no clue it sold because the app never notified me, neither did payal.
