Yep. Multiple failed attempts to upload additional photos to scheduled listings on desktop, using Firefox… Glad I came here and didn’t cart my iMac off to E-Waste recycling, and run out and buy a $$ new computer… Thanks all!
06/18/2019 at 6:39 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 415: Importance Of Being Honest As A Business Owner #63695Thanks for posting the info from CLHunter about the consequences of mandatory GTC, MDC! My sales totally fell off in March, April, May… I’ve been a 30-day BIN lister for a few years, after previously dabbling in auctions. I suspected right away that the plummet in views had something to do with the onset of GTC.
I sell trendy clothes and shoes, and also sell on Poshmark. My items aren’t exactly flying off the shelves on Posh, but they get seen WAY more on that site.
FWIW, these issues may stem from eBay’s rejigging of some of the catalog categories…

Definitely an issue with Mens Shirts. I’m listing a Lacoste Live Polo and was checking Completeds: They’ve nearly all been lumped in with Casual Button-Downs.
At the listing editor level, the Item Specifics drop down menus have all gone missing for the Polo and Casual Button-Down categories. Also, for this item, Preview Mode does NOT reveal any Item Specifics.
Should make things interesting for Potential Customers…
A mix of mostly dashes and a few numbers here. I thought this was maybe because I’m using an old Operating System (and therefore old Firefox 48.0.2) on my desktop Mac. Are users of all the latest Systems experiencing the dash situation?
But then, a recently listed item shows 4 views on my outdated computer OS, yet shows Zero views on my updated iPhone. So not sure the outdated OS scenario has any merit…
Troubleshooting Fun!
Elle:
Agreed. I find the word usage gramatically offensive…I don’t trust the perforations, either.
I use the remaining adhesive strip (after ripping off the lower strips, and all the verbiage), and tape over it all the way, wrapping a little around to the other side.
Thank you for posting the url here!
Looks like eBay has retired the multi color logo envelopes, which I preferred. Probably being controversial, but I really don’t care for the sounds of the “Shop like nobody else…” slogan. I always try to obscure it a little with the shipping label.
Further signs of my madness: I also remove the lower part of the seal where it says to, “Recycle…by becoming a seller”
I’m with KatieScott! As a seller of Clothing/Shoes/Accessories, I didn’t even bother turning on Free Returns. Further, knowing I’d be losing my TRS+ status and 10% FVF discount, I went ahead and extended my Handling Time to 2 Days.
Relatedly, I also did away with the Guaranteed Delivery program eBay auto-enrolled me in as soon as the Opt-Out became available.
Combined, these decisions save me time spent trekking to the PO every single day, and waiting in line for items to be scanned to Beat the Clock. The reduction in current stress and future fru$tration are also not to be sneezed at. I feel thoroughly liberated!
And yes, if 16 ozs or under: First Class.
And I also include Actual Waist measurement in Description. If over 1 lb, I ship in LEGAL Flat Rate Envelope (if it fits). If 16 ozs or under, I ship in bubble/poly mailer.
I put Stated waist size, and Actual inseam in title/specifics/description.
Never had a problem determining gender. Some, like *certain* Cheap Monday (‘Tight’), or A.P.C.(‘Petit New Standard’) are designed as Unisex. In which case, if very small size you could list as Womens, but Women looking for those particular styles/cuts I think know to look in the Mens aisle.
Thanks Jay! I’ll look at that one, too. I guess Google already knows everything about me anyway…
That did not appear to be the case. On the set-up pages they suggested Google, Microsoft, or Go download something from the Internet. Anyway, i just downloaded Saaspass. It was easy, and now I’m back up and running on Amazon.
I looked at Authy yesterday, but it was asking me for more info, so I deleted it.
I’m open to other suggestions from anyone well-versed in these matters.
Thanks!
Re my totally winnable color discrepancy INAD return: I took action and replied by Sep 21 sending the Buyer a message. Sep 22 brings me threats of the potential for a case being opened ‘which can affect your seller level’.
Time to call eBay again…
Yes, Retro, yes it is! And, yes, yes they should!
I told the Rep I didnt like how it still says to Take Action, and she said, ‘I know you don’t like how it still says this, but…”
