These have a transistor preamp and tube power section, the problem could be something as simple as a a dirty function switch.

Sharyn, I usually don’t take into consideration the asking price when determining to make a video although I probably wouldn’t make the effort on $20 or less. It’s more a matter of showing functionality.
The insertion of a video process is second nature to me now and takes very little time to record and upload.
They were asking $800 and that’s why I scrolled past it initially as I thought there would be nothing left to profit from, glad I went back and researched it, I ended up paying $700.
I never like to comment about potential underpricing but as someone who’s had to deal with radios and broken glass this Garod dial glass may have been worth quite a bit more depending on the model. A very rare Dial Glass can sell for up to half the value of the radio itself. Feel free to ask me about vintage audio equipment and I’ll happy to try and help.
I wouldn’t think that weight would factor into whether or not a package gets inspected, image the weight of a box of books the same size as a case of tapes.
