A couple years ago I obtained a huge collection of model cars, trains, ham radios and Mustang II parts through a friend.
I had to make 4 trips to Lake Minnetonka outside of Minneapolis with my Caravan (4 hours one way), it somewhat overwhelmed me as it took up so much space, I’m still finding treasures in the dark corners of my shop.02/28/2019 at 1:14 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Clock radios, Red Wing boots, Fairytale book, Vintage City Cafe Menu #57859Old Fleas!
Love it.02/28/2019 at 1:11 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Clock radios, Red Wing boots, Fairytale book, Vintage City Cafe Menu #57858Repairing the radios is mostly just an accumulation of knowledge and d citing to do it, youtube videos have been great for rehabbing record players.
Your listing looks fine, I’d be cautious about stating it as not played as I’ve seen those sticky tabs reused to keep the tape from unspooling.
Sticky tape shed is the downfall of poorly stored tape, only way to find out is to either play it or unspool it to visually check.
Storage near a strong magnetic source will also render the tape blank or distorted, hopefully it wasn’t stored near a big speaker. Here’s a strange one I’m in the middle of.
Buyer makes a .99 offer on a 99.99 item with a message to call him, no number included, then I receive a message to look up his info and call him, he wants to talk about the item and has things to trade.
I ignore all of it save for deleting the original offer.
Then I receive a reasonable offer of $75 so I accept, then receive another message to call him, I message back that I not interested in trading…and that’s where it’s at, waiting for payment.
Has 0 feedback from Arkansas, perhaps it’s a misunderstanding of how eBay works but I’m not calling anyone to talk trades, I could report it to eBay as this falls outside their selling guidelines but I’ll just open a case of non payment as soon as it’s possible.List it for $50, show the hand drawn schematic and the inner electronics, someone may be quite interested if the components are high quality.
If you find the time they’ll probably be there as Reel Tapes are often overlooked over at estate sales.
Check them for the dreaded tape shed syndrome, flaking or sticky residue from poor storage.Could be a phono preamp, would have to see the guts.
I still uncover some treasures on CL but more come from FB Marketplace.
I think it really depends on your region or local area, more sellers than buyers in my part of the world.02/15/2019 at 6:11 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Vintage German microphone, Calvin Kline sunglasses, Spectacles, Healing Ointment, Doc Marten redux, Cocktail shaker #57044Haha, I had a V-Room when I was a kid, it was an add on for your bicycle, it produced a motorcycle sound.
That Casio might’ve gone that high because it was white, don’t see many of those.

Nice sales.02/14/2019 at 2:14 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Vintage German microphone, Calvin Kline sunglasses, Spectacles, Healing Ointment, Doc Marten redux, Cocktail shaker #56978That’s a great find, a little research and you’ll do well. Those are sought after and so easy to ship, if they have anything recorded on them they can go media mail.
02/14/2019 at 2:10 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 398: How To Buy or Not To Buy on eBay #56977You’ll do great, you’ve more than proved it.
Your knowledge base is immense and will continue to grow and that is the best tool in the box for this kind of selling.Check and see if there are any regional shipping services, we have one called Speedy Delivery which will take on big cumbersome items very reasonably, they’re limited in their reach but it’s better than local pick up.
They have a small fleet of straight trucks and vans.List it for $40 with best offer, see if anyone bites.
The audio Technica M12E is a P mount cartridge, I’ve only seen them in blue. Hard to tell from the picture if it has the stylus.
Many times people buy a new cartridge and store the old one in the the new box so this could be completely different from what’s printed on the box. Is there any identification visible on the body of this one? -
