This is the tape I typically get:
Very thick and very sticky. Love it.Having said that, I procured 3 huge cases of tape at a Kmart that went out of business a few months ago. I’m good on tape for quite a while.
I ordered a small bag of the starch peanuts to experiment with. Less than $12 shipped for 30 gallons? That’s worth the test.
I typically get plenty of bubble wrap from work in receiving, but it has been drying up. fewer and fewer vendors are using bubble wrap.
I always substitute if the delivery times are equal or better. Usually it is the other way around (switch to USPS), but FedEx has really upped their game on price lately.

New Listings 51The weekend closed out the week much slower. I was really hoping to crack $2k sales. Oh well – can’t complain! Hopefully this was just a blip and not the end of these crazy awesome numbers I’ve been getting the last 7 weeks.
Jay, you were speaking my language in regards to slacking at school and on work projects. It’s like I simply don’t care unless I have a vested interest. I also tend to work at a significantly higher efficiency when under that last minute pressure. It is a blessing and a curse.
The new chat is AWESOME! They even send you a log of the chat session in an email once complete.
This is a very welcome change at ebay that gives me hope.Oh yeah, the clothing death piles…ugh!!! They were worth sooooo much more when I bought them! Mens dress shirts…the worst! Can’t even hardly give them away now.
I’ve been mainly hitting the high dollar unique items in my death piles for the double bonus – high selling price and they take up the most space.
I want to reduce and compartmentalize as much and as quickly as possible. I dont want to avoid sourcing forever, so I have to be prepared when the time comes again.Items in Store 1523

New Listings 14So this weekend I completed my reorganizing trilogy- I tackled my garage office. Now I have three dedicated stations – listing, shipping, and photography. It hurt my listing numbers this week destroying my workspace for a few days, but it was worth it. Now instead of surviving chaos, I’ve set myself up for long term success with clear systems to crank through my backlog of unlisted inventory.
Sales volume slowed down this weekend, but I have several big sales to make up the difference. Today it has already picked back up though, so let’s keep on selling!
If you play your cards right, you make money by paying those fees on invoice.
If you have a points credit card for your business and you pay it off monthly, you get free money.
Example, year to date I’ve had $3100 in ebay fees and $2650 in shipping costs.
Then it just depends on your points rewards how much it is worth. At worst, it is 1% cash back.
In my case, I get 9x points for shipping purchases so just that shipping alone is good for a rewards points hotel night stay, which is worth at least $100.Do you purchase shipping with a credit card? If so, how is it categorized with your credit card?
My current dillemma is that I use ebay with the paypal empty hack to force the credit card. Filtering through paypal causes the transaction to show up as Miscellaneous instead of as shipping purchase. I lose out on a bunch of points this way. Also, do you have the option to maintain invoice for fees or does it always autmatically deduct. Again, I like to pay my fees to an invoice with a credit card for the points.
05/08/2020 at 8:44 am in reply to: How is USPS copping during the Pandemic? Just wondering….. #77224Ugh…I’ve had two customers since last night let me know their items haven’t arrived. One is meandering randomly around the country. The other has been “in transit” from the main WV hub for the last 5 days. I’m gonna have to go through and check all of my tracking for the last 2 weeks to get ahead of this.
I just took a look and they are only accepting applications for agricultural businesses.
I couldn’t bring myself to apply for the loan as I was not negatively impacted. It just didn’t feel right.Average profit should have been $26.91
I really need to fix my spreadsheet so I don’t have to re-highlight items for that calculation..I sold a tracksuit to a Mexican customer. Shipped direct – no issues. I suppose I got lucky.

New Listings 37It’s funny how quickly perception changes – this felt like a slow week! It most certainly wasn’t – I just didn’t have as many big ticket sales this week as last.
In an “only relevant to me” way, I’m glad the thrift stores have been closed. I needed the mandatory sourcing break. I’ve been working hard organizing and listing and let me tell ya, I was at max capacity on unlisted inventory. Now that I have it all organized and streamlined, I realize I need to keep on plugging on my death piles instead of shopping even when the stores do open back up. I will do garage sales as they start back most likely, as that’s where I get the unique and interesting stuff. The cool stuff rarely hits the floors of thrift stores anymore.I did do some sourcing this week though – I was at home depot and they had two HUGE items on blowout clearance – a Riding mower jack stand , and a riding mower bagger unit. Both were only $50 and new in box. I sold the bagger unit for $250+shipping within 2 days. Yeah it’s a huge box, but $200 to haul a big box home and then to shipper? I’ll take it!
With my Hilton Amex, I get 3 points per dollar for all purchases, and 9 points per dollar for shipping purchases.
When I wasn’t a top rated seller I bought everything through pirateship. Once I got top rated seller back, ebay beats pirate ship on most priority mail shipments by at least 25 cents, so I went back. A month into it I checked my points accrual, I noticed I was only getting 3 points on ebay shipping because it was being classified as miscellaneous. Because the funds have to be filtered through paypal, it gets classified as miscellaneous instead of shipping. BOOOOO!!!!It is still worth it because ebay is cheaper on priority, but I still do all 1st class through pirateship since they are the same price.
