Wagner Spraytech 0503008 HT1000 Heat Gun, 2 Temp Settings 750ᵒF & 1000ᵒF, Great for Soften paint, Caulking, Adhesive, Putty Removal, Shrink Wrap, Bend Plastic Pipes, Loosen Rusted Nuts or Bolts https://a.co/d/eKS41V2
I just hit it with heat until the label darkens if it is a thermal label and then peel it off.
if you use it on video game or DVD cases with that thin plastic cover, it will tend to deform the plastic. I wouldn’t use this on a $100 video game, but if I had a $100 video game, I’d probably change out the case for a nice one anyways. I’ve used it on 10 to 20 video games DVDs plenty and no one‘s ever complained.
I use a 2 temp heat gun all the time to remove labels. Works awesome on most things.
yes, those huge non-removable goodwill tags can be rough.
It seems you mean they now allow the buyer to increase the quantity of the offer if it is a quantity listing.
if so that is great! I’ve wanted this for a while. Usually the customer will message me and we’ll set something up. It is a royal pain and will definitely drive away low info buyers. I bet there has been MANY potential customers on my multi quantity listings that have liked my offer but ignored it because it was just quantity 1.
Yep. There is a garage full of stuff left after they cleared out the apartment. I’ve looked at it and kind of took inventory of what is there. LOTS more NWT clothes. Like 8 tubs of loose shoes.
They’ve been traveling a lot and we’ll get back together in January. I plan to offer $7500 for the entire contents of the garage.
Some of the more interesting sales of the week, in no particular order or value:

LEGO Minifigure Year by Year: A Visual History 2013 Book w/ 3 Minifigures
It is rare to find these books with the minifigures intact. BUT if you do, they are a BOLO.

Ms Pac-Man Plug and Play Wireless TV Arcade 7 In 1 Game Namco Jakks Pacific 2004
Some of these old plug n play games are great BOLOs. This one is wireless and has the twisting joystick to play pole position.

Levis Jeanswear Denim Shirt Men’s Size XL Vintage 1996 Band Collar NWT
Part of the premium hoarder collection. I did not think this would be a $100 item when I grabbed it. I love these pleasant surprise value items!

Polaroid 600 film camera State Farm Business edition
Special edition polaroid cameras are always a BOLO. I still regret missing one of the rarest ones that goes for $600-800. This one eases the pain a bit. Sold on offer for $60.

LOUIS VUITTON LV Monogram Blue Denim Arizona Moccasin Boat Shoes Slip-On Sz 10
This is the item that I really wanted to get $800 for, but took a $750 offer on. Kinda hard to swing the $800 thing with a receipt sitting there clearly showing only $706 was paid originally. LOL! This shoe (with a different sole color) is readily available at the Louis Vuitton online for for $910 brand new.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266435307557
EBI Bone Healing System Model 2001 Charger
Sold on offer for $60. This was a long term death pile item. It originally came with a battery but that didn’t hold a charge. Do these things actually work – questionable. Sometimes merely thinking things work can help recovery happen, so I hope this helps the buyer!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/266408040879
PetSafe Wireless Fence Pet Containment System Adjustable Circular Range
These are definitely a BOLO. I’ve sold several over the years – always for over $100. I took an offer of $100 on this in the pursuit of the $4k week. I paid $10 at a yard sale.

2023 weekly new listings Avg: 46Yeah baby! That’s a monster week! I sold 3 pair of hoarder shoes for a total of $2050 over a 24 hour period at the beginning of the week – all different buyers. The highest price pair was an offer of $750. I REALLY wanted to hit $800 sales price, but that’s just a vanity goal. I much more wanted the sale. It wasn’t worth risking the sale for $50. They hit me right in that perfect offer zone – good for the buyer! Also, I love auto payment. It gives me so much more confidence on these higher priced items when it comes to offers knowing the money is definitely coming in.
Listing wise, I started strong but finished with a whimper. I have soooo much on my mind with some non-ebay stuff that I just couldn’t focus on ebay. I’m off work from the day job next week. Shipping has been SUPER annoying and has eaten up alot of my time. While I’m going to end up close to 1500 sales on the year, I’ve shipped over 1000 items since the summer started. That’s a ton of shipping!
My fall listing goal was 1113 listings and I’m at 965. I’ll definitely break 1000 listings since 9/1, but I just don’t know if I have it in me to do 148 more. I do have a draft bank of 35 items that just need photos so that will get me off to a good start this week.
Will I hit the goal? I don’t know. My work space AND storage is an absolute mess. Maybe I should spend my time organizing so I can start the new year strong? I’ll just wing it – what gets done gets done. I may just do nothing and spend my mornings chilling in the hot tub watching youtube reseller videos like I did yesterday instead of working.
I just have to average $1130 the last 2 weeks to hit $70k gross sales thanks to this awesome week. I’m at $500 gross 2.5 days into this week so looking pretty good! It would be awesome to hit $70k goal this week and just call next week my “christmas bonus” and do something crazy/frivolous with the profit from next week with my family.
Premium Hoarder update:
I sold 15 items for $2891 this week. ‘Tis a monumental improvement over last week. I rocketed right past $10k in profit and am now at $11k profit. I still have plenty of shoes to list, and more than plenty clothes to list.
I likely won’t be on here to do numbers next week other than the occasional reply, I’ll see you all next year! Merry Christmas!
That’s pretty much what I do unless my item has a defect.
it doesn’t need to slow you down. Let the STR help dictate your sell price. Higher str, higher price. Lower STR, price lower to sell. A simple decision after 30 seconds of research for the majority of items.

3” Trackball Betson Imperial Arcade Lot Of 3
Some holdovers from my heavy arcade repair/collecting days. Way before I had a true ebay reseller business, I would buy large lots of arcade parts on ebay for cheap and then test/resell the individual pieces. I sold a ton of trackballs back then such as these. I’d clean/test/refurbish them and sell for $50+ each. It was a self-sustaining hobby supported by selling parts and selling refurbished machines. I also did service/repair work for other people (including a local pizza chain) for $40/hr. That may sound like alot, but big companies did service work for $100+ an hour and they did TERRIBLE work that I often had to redo properly. At one point my garage gameroom had over 20 arcade and pinball machines. I’d have people over for game night and I’d get asked what something like this cost. I’d truthfully say I had no money tied up in any of it. I’d get the typical ‘wink, wink, nudge nudge, chuckle yeah my hobby is free too’ response and move on. SERIOUSLY! NO MONEY INVESTED! I was pretty darn proud of the fact that I was able to have an ‘expensive’ hobby that didn’t actually cost money.

Skylanders Trap Team (Microsoft Xbox One, 2014) – No Manual Tested
It pays to have even a minor knowledge in video games. This sold for full price and was not in great shape. Xbox has alot of junky games, but some of them are worth some dollarbucks. I grabbed this out of a clearance bin at a local pawn shop a couple weeks ago for $5. I had the listing created in my van before I even left the parking lot, and then took the photos when I got home. I stop by there every once in a while to check their game section to see if any big ticket games show up. I wish they would sell older games. They are pretty short sighted and don’t take in any older system stuff.
While we’re on the topic of promoted listings, it is worth mentioning that I haven’t added any items to promoted listings in many months. I think I added some in July maybe? I’ve listed over 1000 items since the last time I added promoted listings. My sales are higher than ever in quantity and gross sales.
Listing high STR items and being consistent with listing is far more important than promoted listings. 60 of my last 200 sales were via promoted listings, half of those being from 3-4 multi quantity listings I’ve been selling from for a while.
I only do 2.1% on items I have PL turned on.
I was in Columbus this past weekend and hit up my usual Goodwill haunts. This time the clothing was great! The first Goodwill I went to has started a “good stuff” rack. Normally that is a really bad thing as they will individually price stuff and it can get out of hand quickly. My local goodwill does this with worn out Nike stuff that is worth less than the tag they put on it. In this case it was mainly NWT stuff or just much better quality items. Prices ranged from $7.99 – $19.99. I ended up getting 51 items – an average COGS of $7.71. I focused on high STR only items and my Average sales price will be around $35. Most of the items were NWT. I’ve always done very well with NWT nicer mall brands in the $25-35 price range. There are Nordstrom and Anthropologie stores in Columbus, so there are always the “better than mall brand” stuff there as well. I paid up ($20 each) for a really cool leather coat that will sell for $100 and a higher end Columbia Men’s jacket that will sell for $75-85. Both had high STR’s which always makes it easier to not worry about the COGS.
I’m always willing to pay $5-8 for a NWT clothing with a good STR that sells for $25-50. That’s the best bread n butter stuff!
The second goodwill also had some good clothing. I bought multiple shirts for myself as well. My wife has really stepped up her game shopping the women’s clothing department. I do the rest of the store and she brings me any of the interesting items she finds. She also of course gets all the things she wants for her wardrobe as well. Lol!

2023 weekly new listings Avg: 46This was a frustrating week. Honestly the numbers are much better than the week felt. It felt dead. I went from Tuesday early morning until Wednesday late evening without a sale or an offer. I had two frustrating returns. One the buyer is new to ebay and didn’t read the description. I sold a vintage toy cassette player for parts/repair very cheap. Working this unit sells for $50+. They wrote me saying it played slow. I politely told them to re-read my description. Everything was disclosed. So naturally they opened an INAD case. Ebay for business was frustratingly not helpful. The person practically word for word told me my own description in their message and the case. The ebay for business rep was like “we don’t have the item and it isn’t our job to interpret what the buyer/seller says”. Bullcrap!
Anyways, I have to allow the return and then can “apply” for the new false INAD return shipping credit. Ebay for business basically told me that new return shipping credit is BS and I’ll never get it since ebay “isn’t there and its not their place to judge…blah blah blah”. I also messaged the buyer that they are free to return the item at their own cost, but I’ll file a fraud return claim on them if they use the free INAD return label. They shipped it back this morning and didn’t respond to my message.
The other return the buyer messaged me that they wanted to return a pressure cooker due to a loose lid. I was trying to quickly message them before they opened the INAD case but they did it pretty much immediately. Why even bother messaging!!! Grrrr….. I went ahead and fully refunded them and told them how to fix it via a new seal. I also told them under no uncertain terms to NOT send the item back. I figure with my luck they’ll still send it and cost me a return shipping label.
It seems like my store dies for a day or two every time I get a return. Coincidence? Maybe.
I did stay in the hunt for the $70k gross year because of a huge $700 sale for a NIB printer at the beginning of the week.
I was out of town Friday until late Sunday night which impacted my listing. I still got 45 listings in over 4 days so yay! That keeps me in the running to meet my 2500 new listings goal by the end of the year.
Crazy….almost $1900 in sales and 45 new listings on a 4 day work week and I feel disappointed again. That’s why I do these numbers and reflect every week. My December numbers have been flat or trending down since 2018. I’m waay up this year so far. It is convenient that I’m hitting my stride now as I have some big expenses coming up this year and I need every penny I can get.
My traveling is done for the year. I really want to wrap up my listing goal by the 22nd so time to get busy listing!
Premium Hoarder update:
I sold 5 items for $218 this week. Well that’s shockingly bad! I even listed a bunch of hoarder clothes and even some big ticket shoes this week. I tried to negotiate on a couple pair of shoes where the offers weren’t quite good enough and the negotiations stalled out. Oh well. One of the pair I’m pretty firm at getting $600 for them since it is a pair I have the original receipt for.
I’m staying in Columbus for free this weekend to see some Christmas lights at the zoo courtesy of my Amex Card.
Have you switched to Pirateship for all of your labels? The only thing I still buy from ebay is padded flat rate envelopes as ebay is cheaper by 50 cents. Pirateship meets or beats ebay on every single other label due to cubic shipping rates and ability to input envelope dimensions.
So cheaper labels and 6x Amex Points.
Really any time you see a “set” of books it is worth checking it out. Even more so if it is cheap.
I also sold a set of 19 diary of a whimpy kid books this week for $75. It isn’t alot per book, but if you are getting the books for $1 or less per book it is quite lucrative. In this case I had $10 in this set.

Monsters Inc Imaginext SCARE FLOOR PLAYSET with accessories figures
One of the more valuable Imaginext sets. I bought 5 sets with figs at a yard sale a couple years ago. They sat on a shelf unlisted until this summer. I needed that shelf for hoarder shoes so I listed everything on the shelf. I have another shelf I need to do the same thing with soon.

Fisher Price 73545 Ocean Wonders Aquarium Baby Crib Soother Lights Sounds 2002
Another item from that same “death shelf”. I had two of these that I was saving for a rainy day to “fix”. Early in my ebay career I had 2 of these that I disassembled, fixed, and refilled the liquid in. It was a fun project and it greatly increased the value. These two sat on this shelf for 3-4 years. I have passed on multiple other soothers since I never even listed these. Well the price/demand has went up even if the liquid level isn’t full. I tested/cleaned them both and they both sold within a week for full price.

ValueTale Lot of 32 Books by Spencer Johnson 1st Edition Education Value Tales
First off, I had some of these books when I was a kid and LOVED them. They were also in my elementary school. I’ve sold lots of them twice in the past for good money so I knew they were a BOLO. I actually have two sets I listed. My mother-in-law gave me her set from her elementary counseling days, and I had another lot I bought from Goodwill (Boo for huge non-removable price tags at Goodwill…). I sorted both lots together so I could build as complete of a lot as possible (mostly 1st editions) and then listed the second lot of what was left.

2023 weekly new listings Avg: 46This is the most items I’ve sold in a week since the CRAZY weeks in April/May 2020 when everyone was buying everything on ebay. My listing & sales goals for the year are still alive. I have to average 59 listings and $2050 gross sales for the next 4 weeks. my 4Q average so far is 60 and $2453 so I think I can get there. I’m going to list higher dollar hoarder items all week to hedge my bets.
Shipping is wearing me out and eating up time I want to be listing. Hey, I can’t complain – the whole reason I list is so that items will sell! I packed/shipped every day including Saturday and Sunday, which is very rare for me. I have 2 business day handling so I can take several days off of shipping every week. I still have 15 items to ship as I write this Monday morning. I hope shipping is even MORE exhausting and time consuming this week. Let’s keep this rising tide on the upward trend. Daddy needs Mo Money!
I’m still paying every expense I have with the exception of my house payment purely with ebay profits. It’s like a fun game for me. Every day I look at my payouts and bank accounts and see what I can pay down. First I pay off my business CC, then any bills which I pay for shipping and inventory with, then I pay off my main non-business credit card. Right now I have $2k as my minimum business bank account balance to avoid the monthly fee. Maybe next year I can get my minimum balance to $5k while still paying all the bills/expenses so my main checking account can keep steadily increasing with my day job direct deposit (and tax refund!).
I’ll be thinking about goals this month, but cart – get behind the horse. I still gotta finish this year strong!
Premium Hoarder update:
I sold 10 items for $686 this week. I was actually kind of surprised how little stuff in the premium hoarder category was selling. Thankfully I had an amazing organic week on the rest of my store. I didn’t sell a hoarder item over $100 until Sunday when I sold a pair of shoes for $250. I countered an offer of $400 on another pair, but the person had previously sent me a $450 offer. They’ll either come back eventually and up their offer or they don’t. I really don’t care because my buyer red flag alarm was going off in this buyer. Their feedback is private which did not appease that alarm. I just LOVE when buyers think that since an item hasn’t sold for a week or two that they can send me a lower “doing me a favor” offer – usually including some critique of the item. That’s a complete non-starter for me – I’ll decline on principle every time.
