07/20/2017 at 1:38 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Hats, Briefcase, Glass mugs, Fender amp, Jansport, Hood emblem #20547It’s been godawful slow for us this summer, but there are little pockets of cha-chings periodically. Last Sunday we sold 7 items out of the blue so that was a nice surprise. Here are our most notable recent sales.
Got this dryer power module at a yard sale for $10. The guy bought it to fix his dryer but never used it. We couldn’t test it so I hope it works. I think the mfr has stopped making this part. Sold for $230:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112482050090This surveyor’s tripod came from the auction for $42, sold for $190 to someone in Brooklyn:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112454956120This crock also came from the auction for $20 and sold for $125:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112406050675Nice Eddie Bauer sweater from a rummage sale ($1), sold for $30:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112130550310Also got these Vionics for $2 at a church rummage sale, sold for $50. I like Vionics myself because of the arch support but never thought I’d see such a cool pair in such good shape at a rummage sale. I think my eyes bugged out.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112477221276Another auction item, paid $8, sold for $40:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112000779748Wow, no I haven’t seen any others. Thanks for the advice!
Thanks for everyone’s advice. I did call Paypal today and they said that the ball is in the customer’s court at this point. They said that the case would automagically close after 20 days if the customer doesn’t do anything. I just can’t stomach calling ebay at this point. I know, I know, maybe I’m not cut out for this but the ebay reps are talking out of their butts half the time. Anyway, the ebay case is closed for whatever reason. We’re waiting to hear from usps since it was priority mail and therefore insured…..

We’re both still working full-time.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/112380405860We picked up this Coors mirror at a yard sale for 2 bucks, sold for 80:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/112183242011This chunky necklace sold very quickly so maybe I priced it too low. Paid $1.50 at a yard sale and sold for $26:

Omigosh, you are both Geminis? That must make things interesting.
06/16/2017 at 9:50 am in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Sundial, Phono cartridges, motorcycle part, GE Console Stereo, running shoes, Vintage Halloween costume #19471Sales have been super slow for us since April, but that’s ok. We’re still filling the store with yard sale finds and come Christmas we will be very busy. This was our best sale in quite a while.
Paid $55 for these at the auction. We also made around $13 on the shipping even though it was 3 separate packages. The small one went in a box and the other two were wrapped in $1 fleece blankets, then tarp, and plenty of tape, with tape handles:

We will be very busy from October through April. We still work full-time and do some scavenging & listing as time allows. Here’s what sold in two weeks:
Got this at the auction for $6 and it sold for $35, kinda disappointing because I thought it was really wild and unique, but it had been listed for about 18 months.

05/31/2017 at 2:35 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 312: Is eBay Removing Old listings? #18832We love lambs quarters! Got a ton of it in the freezer. Better than spinach, grows like a weed (ha), and FREE.
I think some of your titles are short. On the shoes it might help to specify “mens” or “womens”. Use as much of the space in the title as you can. Toss in all kinds of words at the end so long as they are applicable to the item.
Very weird. The lowest price I’ve seen for 1st class is $2.61.
So you’d have to do that everyday right before printing your labels. Doesn’t it make accounting more difficult?
