@sharyn Thank you for the email suggestion! I knew those undeleted emails would come in handy! Haha. I will be able to make a rough estimate now–I appreciate it!
IMO copper is still a thing. I can see the hammered look being too trendy or boho specific, but I feel like designers are still playing around with copper fixtures and “rose gold” in general is still popular. I’m even seeing some copper backsplashes in kitchens popping up in design blogs. Copper is a great way to warm up the all white aesthetic.
@wendalina22 I hear you! I like to think that someday I’d get into hard goods but the reality is that my with my small storage and frequency of moving, clothes work best for now. Also, I’m in awe that you have a 1700 sq ft basement!! My entire house is just under 1900 sq ft haha!
@lukastreasuretrove That’s amazing that a CVS lawn ornament sold for so much. Who would have thought?Speaking of FedEx being surprisingly competitive lately, is “FedEx Home” shipping pick-up eligible without a commercial account or is that just what they named it?
@temudgin Thank you; how do I walk a buyer through that process? I have had to refund 2 buyers in the last 6 weeks for late delivery issues.
@indysales What is this First Class lost shipping voucher you speak of?
@Jay As I understand it, they have a Sheets template option (which I haven’t explored) and a “Book Template” which is basically their ledger system. I prefer their system because to me it’s more user-friendly (I don’t have a lot of spreadsheet skills). Yes, I’m under their Standard plan (billed yearly) with 1k allotted transactions per month. I’ve been teaching myself double-entry book keeping as I go, and their interface has been the most straightforward for me to put what I’m learning into practice, compared to the others I’ve tried. They do have a free plan option with limited monthly transactions that you can try out to see if it’s a fit.
I shelled out $100 this year for bkper. In the past I had tried GoDaddy and Wave. So far I’m pleased with bkper because there is some automation (bank accounts) and they have a system where for other things as long as I can put the data into a Google Sheets, they can import it. Also, it’s a double-entry bookkeeping method. I moved away from GoDaddy because it wasn’t double-entry and hearing about the additional support problems cropping up. I tried Wave but couldn’t quite get the hang of it, and don’t use EAT because I have a Mac.
Thanks for the tip! I wouldn’t have thought of this. I wonder what they’re being used for?
@huncrelan Thank you for the info, Mike! That sheds some light on the situation. After I mentioned that the address delivered-to was a P.O. box, the customer retracted the case with no follow-up and I wondered why.
My sales have rebounded a bit post-election. Not the huge holiday bump I was hoping for but they picked up again. However, I suspect that’s because what’s selling (childrenswear) is like beauty products; a little more recession/uncertainty-proof. Women’s clothing has not picked up to previous levels.
Thanks for the input everyone. I’m not on managed payments, but the buyer and I discovered that once she manually accepted the the item received, I was able to issue a partial through PayPal.
I would not list it as kimono fabric. IMO it doesn’t look at all like kimono fabric or kimonos I have seen. Chinese-style brocade/damask maybe. Obi fabrics tend to be stiffer due to their function as partially holding the kimono together (although I don’t think that’s what this is), and I’ve noticed outer kimono in general has a slightly sturdier feel. The second one Amatino found could possibly be an example of more casual style printed cotton blend yukata/jinbei but the heavily embroidered dragon motif is not typically associated with kimono.
Guys, I’m coming off a 12 day-hot streak this week with 1 sale and 2 returns.

ETA: Thanks to everyone willing to ship APO/FPO; eBay glitching aside, a lot of sellers and large commercial chains weren’t always willing to ship. It has changed a bit in the last 5 years but I’m always surprised at the number of companies who won’t ship or who don’t have their address boxes appropriately able to receive that kind of address. We get stationed abroad occasionally so as a buyer I’m always grateful.
No, the only option I can do is either send the tracking number again or give a full refund. I am wondering if she needs to confirm on her end that the item was received first? Seller Central is telling me she needs to take that action, but I don’t know why if I got an email from eBay saying the item arrived at the destination.
