at least you know where the money came from–someone I know on FB picked up $50 dropped on the street, she kept it of course, what else could she do? still I feel sorry for the person who lost it.
What is it about dogs and snow? my rat terrier loves it and all the time I am grumbling under my breath god***it, then usually fall on my rear–we only get snow a couple of times a year, when I first moved to the PNW we had some major storms that knocked out power, etc. The only good thing about changing weather patterns IMO, less snow here! sales are doing OK, I am buying a lot online (sadly my local auction house went bye-bye) so profits are much smaller, but that is OK with me as I am buying in my PJs and the item shows up at my door in due course.

This is one of those unique things that I just loved so paid up for it–>$32 with shipping, sold for $65 but on etsy happily where fees are much less expensive than ebay–on its way to Spain, so fingers crossed

an Estate sale find for $2 or so, sold for $55–brass does very well for me

even with more frequent sales I am down 45% on ebay from last year, but etsy has been making up the shortfall

Hey J&R you underpriced the Hi-ball jacket by about $100 (a few years ago that would have been a $300 jacket–this sort of thing was my specialty at one time) I got $200 for a similar piece about 3 years ago, but no big deal–you can only research so much.
For me sales remain sluggish, but I roll with the punches and keep listing.
I am glad to hear that someone is selling something..sigh…I just had a week where I didn’t sell ONE thing on ebay despite listing and running a sale. Love seeing the dogs playing in “doggie wonderland.”
When I lived in LA, I found stuff by the side of the road (no food however, LOL) we picked up 2 dog bone 50’s sofas on the curb, had them recovered and made about a grand on them. Up here, I got a couple of vintage tonka fire trucks off a trash pile and sold the pair for nearly $200, but nothing really interesting seems to show up on the side of the road here. I’m truly bummed about my local auction house which I have relied on for several years for stock, they just up and went out of business with no warning…ebay, which was doing pretty well for me last week, completely crashed–sales down over 50%! I am listing so I haven’t a clue what the issue it. Etsy remains my better venue, I typically do better after Christmas when people are buying for themselves.
I am a big fan of working capital, as long as you are a consistent seller there is really no downside to it IMO–it is a win win for the loan company (which isn’t paypal btw) and the seller. I can see where someone could get in trouble with it, but sellers are well vetted before the loan goes through.
ebay absolutely puts up the stuff not shipped through GSP back on ebay–I have seen someone (awhile back) prove this with a link to something he sold, but was stopped at the warehouse, the same item appeared back on ebay. I expect that the sneakers will be listed on ebay in no time. I wonder why they couldn’t ship sneakers to Japan however, I ship all sorts of stuff there, although it has been awhile.
Loved that cutting board with original paint–I would also date it in the 1800-1825 era, American painted primitives have been a little down in price recently but you proved that there is a market out there still for the right object.
I LOVE that desk you sold, well worth the $1800+ paid for it. My week was pretty good, sales have picked up, so while I am sad that summer is ending (said while munching on a sweet home grown cucumber) I am ready for the seasonal sales.
I haven’t posted my sold items in awhile, for one thing, this summer was slow but things are now selling at a brisk pace:
I had this piece up for a month or 2 on ebay and etsy for $125 and finally took a $70 offer–this sort of chaps my hide because she is in Australia and the GSP cost to ship was pretty outrageous, so I had to take a reduction to make up for some of that shipping, but I made the sale and I only paid $10 for it at a thrift store.
I had $150 on this (my crazy out there price, LOL) but took $60 for it because I just want to sell, again this was cross listed with not much play. Bought for $15 at a thrift store.

This sort of fits in what WV said about his Civil War monument photos–I had this paperweight on etsy for months for $25 with no interest, but because of all the controversy lately this sold on ebay in a few days for $35–the funnest part for me was trying to find out who the sulphide was of, I finally settled on Robert E Lee and presented my evidence. bought for $5 at a thrift store.
bought for $10 in a thrift and sold in a couple of days for $75. A note about my prices, as someone with ONE business and a relatively small inventory I have made an executive decision to be reasonable on my pricing–yes, I could have asked more for this piece but I just want to keep things moving.
I especially love the farmhouse–I could totally live there. although you didn’t run your numbers I notice that your main store had another really excellent week–I think that the 2 stores are educational for new resellers–on the “flagship store” you list way more stuff, and constant listing is key, there is no way around it.

We get the Hatch Chilies in Western WA Paul–delicious, great for salsa Verde. In the almost 30 years I’ve lived here the ONLY thing I miss about So Cal is Mexican-American food–there is exactly ONE place for miles around that knows how to make the legit stuff, LOL.
The eclipse here in Western WA was 92%, as it happened I was at the Vet’s and there were people in the parking lot who shared their glasses, it was freaking amazing even without hitting 100%, when the skies darkened (only dimming to “dusk”) it still felt wonderfully strange. If I hadn’t had to take the dog for some routine stuff I wouldn’t have bothered to look (didn’t buy glasses) now I am so happy that I did–it is easy to forgot how incredible our universe is.
Sales are dead and I am taking some time off from listing so nothing interesting to report on that front…

LOL me too, I mostly go toe to toe on facebook about it. As for the ACA, I clearly want the law to stand and be fixed–it saved my life and I know of at least 2 other people whose lives were also saved, to be clear, it is VERY difficult to find decent medical care in this country without insurance, many uninsured middle class people go bankrupt after being burdened with medical expense that they couldn’t cover, so I consider this an urgent issue obviously.

I had Royal Mail return a package with VAT due over a month ago, emailed the buyer and Finally heard from her yesterday–on a $125 item. I admire her patience even though I had contacted her as soon as the package came back, this was an etsy sale and I really miss the GSP in cases like this.
