Now let’s talk taxes… #13888I just started using promoted listings a few days ago on some items that I have multiples of. Within a couple of days I sold two items, things that I’ve had listed for a while with no previous buys. It cost me less than $2 so far in fees.
I’ve also just started using google ads on etsy. that hasn’t paid off yet and you are charged if someone just clicks on your item.

Edited to add: I just saw how long it is. Guess it isn’t a tea towel.

Water goblets?
Google image search ‘linoleum print’. it reminds me of those
Lots of sellers on etsy use other colors than white. My listings are mostly white because I cross post from eBay.
Very important to know though. eBay uses a square photo as your gallery photo. Etsy uses a photo with an 8×10 aspect ratio. If you don’t use a photo that already has an 8×10 ratio it will get cropped for etsy and sometimes look bad. Many sellers on etsy don’t pay attention to that and it can really ruin the presentation of your item. So if you start listing on etsy and can’t figure out why your photos keep getting weirdly cropped that is the reason 🙂
Also a lot of people do more staging of their items on etsy. So if you want to take the time you can do that.
I don’t mind questions. I’d like it to be clear and easy so someone doesn’t go away frustrated. I wonder how it is on mobile. I haven’t checked yet. Off to check on my phone.
Edited to add: Checked my cell phone and it is easier to find. More intuitive. You just click on the seller and one of the options is ask a question.

targetI’ve only sold multiple items a couple of times.
Haven’t seen any promotion of new sellers
Etsy does show you where your traffic comes from. One of the things I like more about Etsy is their analytics. Shows you where your traffic is coming from. What keywords were used most often. Who favorited your items. You can look at all of these by day, week, month, year. All very easy.
I sell mostly vintage home decor on etsy with some vintage clothing.
I think this seller has some etsy tutorials

My fear is that I won’t just lose the discount but also better placement in Best Match.
Sharyn that is great. Did you schedule it over the phone or online?
I usually ship in a box.
CT Lady how is your experiment going with google ads? Are you getting more sales?
02/23/2017 at 4:15 pm in reply to: Daily Listings or Listing One Lump Sum Weekly- Does it Matter? #13195I go with the theory that it’s better to list every day. You could schedule them for ten cents a piece to list some every day. For me when I don’t list my sales go down. I think it triggers something. Could be wrong but I try to do it that way.
I’ll do some research. worth a shot. I’m leaning towards bulb pot/planter now. I’m going to take new pics and try and write a better description before I throw in the towel.
I look back at some of my old listings and half of them probably just need a better picture to sell.
