I’m late! But, here are my numbers for the week of 2/11/18 – 2/17/18
99 items listed, of which 89 were from death piles 🙂02/22/2018 at 11:05 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 348: Acknowledge When Hard Work Pays Off #33657My sales numbers for this week are grabbing some of the numbers from last week so that I can align with the group. I was counting my weeks as beginning on a Monday, which isn’t practical. So, for the Week of February 11 to 17, my numbers are as follows:
Total Items In Store: 668 (this is today’s number, I didn’t keep track of the number as of Saturday)
Items Sold: 11
Cost of Items Sold: $3.18
Total Sales: $123.60
Highest Price Sold: 22.99 Vintage GE Digital Alarm Clock Radio Model No. 7-4612A
Average Price Sold: 13.06
Returns/Refunds: 0
Money Spent on New Inventory This Week: under $50
Number of Items listed this week: 99Despite the low overall net sales dollars, I have a positive take-away from this past week. First, daily listings, generally, translated into daily sales. Second, my number of sales remained relatively constant. My sell-through rate was 1.62%, and that’s ok with me. Third, it tells me that all I need to do to increase my net funds is increase the value of items listed. Sure, it’s very tempting to pick up books on dogs and lot them together for COGs of 50 cents and sell for $10, but it’s not going to get me where I need to be. As a result, I have recently spent just under $400 in inventory of higher ticket items. It’s a bit of a gamble for sure, and I can tell that I have already made some poor buys, but I’m doing what Jay recommends. Jay always says (can’t you hear him saying: “we always say”) when you find something good, go all in. Well, I went all in. I bought $73 of vintage stemware and $250 of costume jewelry. Fingers crossed!
Hi Amatino. I am way overdue to report my numbers. I want to report them, not to take the crown for the week from the queen, Ice_Queen, but to remain accountable. Help me out if you could please, do you count the week from Sunday to Saturday? Or, is there another parameter? Also, when do you want them reported by? Monday? THANKS!
I was walking into the gas station near my cabin today and someone left 12 mid century drinking glasses14 oz, depicting the 12 days of Christmas on them. I looked and I’m going to list them for $110
Amatino,
I love that! “Just list, Damn it!” Too funny! How about this one (for a Trash Elf T-shirt): “Give yourself a raise….just list, damn it!”
(Smiles)
I think I’m off on the timing of this information. My numbers for last week (which I counted through Sunday, Feb 11) were 96 items listed and about half of it was from death piles.
I have been listing consistently every day since 2/3/18 for the first time ever. It has resulted in almost a sale or 2 every day which is very exciting to me.
last week’s sales:
number of items in store: 564
# items sold: 12
total $ of sales: $214.75
cogs: $8.30
number of items listed: 96
highest price of item sold: $40 (The New Marian Missal for Daily Mass Sylvester Juergens 1956 Large Print Edition)
cost of highest price item = .05
total amount spent on inventory this week: $49For sure you can lose something via first class. I haven’t had it happen yet. But if I were sending something that I had money into, then I would list it as priority mail option only. T-Satt, which countries did the package get lost in? I have no fear in countries like Canada, England, France, etc.
If your weight and size measurements were correct in the lusting and you didn’t have to adjust them in the eBay application, then something is off. If that were the case, I’d call ebay
I ship international and virtually all my items do not go through GSP. I love this vecause it makes a reasonable potion of my sales. When you had the shipping undercharge situation, were you using calculated or flat rate shipping?
So when the title said strung yarn, I invisioned it to be strung from small tacks. I can’t be certain from the photo, but is it just a form of embroidery with very long stitches?
Absolutely no luck with beanie babies. Luck with jellycat brand plush, and old rubber faced dolls
Good Morning ice_queen!
How are you today pard? I wanted to see if you’d like to exchange emails. I think if we both reach out to Jay, we can do it that way. I’ll send him an email now to ask for yours. Anyway, my goal for today is to keep myself from going out sourcing and list…….ugggghhhh. It’s like eating my vegetables, an acquired taste! When will I get that candy hangover feeling from buying and want kale instead? LOL
Oh twinnie….twin…twinser…where are you? 🙂 Well, I’m back and here to share my woeful listing data and confess about my death piles needing to be listed. Here’s what I have listed since getting back into the listing swing:
94 items since Saturday, February 3rd. of which 53 were from death piles. Of the stuff I just listed, 7 items sold within 24 – 36 hours. That feels good because it validates the items I sourced as being good.
I’m happy to be paired with anyone, regardless of store size, goal, or other criteria. I’m just interested in an accountability partner of some sort 🙂 Thanks Amantino!!!02/06/2018 at 12:09 pm in reply to: Instant Pot Yogurt, it's yum and a fraction of the price of yogurt at the store! #32287I have been thinking about this option for yogurt, mostly because I have 2 17 year old athletes in the house and the dairy costs are killing me!!! My daughter eats more than the boy we have staying with us (from Slovakia). Its nothing for her to have a “snack” of a huge glass of milk and about 3 cups of yogurt, then come back in the kitchen looking for more. Yowza. I’m going to try this yogurt technique. Now to find the yogurt starter….
