Hi, checking in. Definitey hit the limit today. I had a $0.25 cent sale and was checking prices on 50 clothing items i bought and hit the limit on like the 30th item. Theres no way the limit is 250 searches. Maybe 100.
Lol @Elle, Like I said, I used to use terapeak as a “what is this thing” instead of google, so I could use 5-10 terapeak searches a day on a single item. Not anymore!
Hmmm thats interesting @Sharyn, I wonder if enough people complained that they took it off. I’ll be honest, I haven’t hit the limit again since, but I broke my phone and havent been listing because I’ve been dreading taking photos with my DSLR. They just don’t look as good, but its totally user error.
Super arbitrary. I’m not sure. Honestly I was shocked to hear that it’s so high. I use terapeak a lot as a “what is this item” so I need to get out of that habit and use google for that, and use terapeak for “how much does this cost” if they are going to limit it.
hmmph.
Thanks! To be honest, sales have been slow the last 6 weeks or so- I haven’t been listing at all. Gram broke her kneecap and I’ve been on full blown caregiver mode. So, this weekend I finally said enough and hung a shop light in my dining room so I had some light and listed 45 listings of clothes and sold 4 things over the weekend. I’ve also been working on my vinyl sticker website and have been having some success there too, which is nice. Sitting at 1015 now. It’s so much easier for me to do clothing at my house than it is anything else, so I think I’ll pick up some more while I’m waiting for the building to get electric and insulation before I can move in, then everything will be normal.
I haven’t listened yet. I heard the news and turned it off, I’ll get to it at some point when I’m not in work mode, but for now, I wanted to say thank you. I’ve been listening to Scavenger life since 2017 and have learned and grown so much from it. Its been such a journey, and I’m so sad to see it go. Thank you for the good times, I’m so appreciative. I wish you well <3
Thanks for the update, especially about the Delivered part- similar to Ebay, I think FB uses the Delivered scan to say if its been delivered or not, of course, so I would need that scan,so I dont think Letter Track Pro would work. I did just have a lady buy a sticker the other day, which shows someone in the world is willing to pay for shipping, but it’s so frustrating that they require tracking on a tiny object. Ugh.
Hi, just signing in after a hiatus to say its been crappy here too. I got all the way to the 15th with like $150 in sales for the MONTH. ugh. I’ve gotten up to $550 in sales for this month. I didn’t put anything up last month due to personal reasons and am really feeling it. I did sell about $180 worth of china today to one person including a $125 teapot, so thats nice. Ebay is a little on autopilot as I just had to sign up to be grandma’s caregiver so I’m caregiving 25 hours a week now. Building was supposed to come last monday but they no called no showed (thanks carolina carports.) New date yet to be decided. Just trying to get all the ducks in a row and accepting that business is slow. Bleh.
Thanks! These are kind of a weird size for what I do, but I appreciate it!
5/30-6/5
Items in Store: 922
Items Sold:9 (5 Ebay, 4 on Facebook)Total Sales:212
COGS:13
Total Profit :199
Average profit 22
Average sales price 23.5The 30th-2nd were solid days, but I’m still going days at a time without a single sale. It’s been like this since April. I listed my most expensive item this week, a piece of signed numbered art for $900. It’s framed and huge, and if I get $400, I’d be happy with it. I’ve been listing a bunch of art this week because I finally got my art boxes in so I have the means to ship out art now.
Not ebay related, but I started doing focus groups through focusgroups.org and findfocusgroups.com and have had some success with both sites over the last few months. I really enjoy talking over zoom about stuff like technology and coffee and whatever and the pay ranges from around $75-$150 a session, so I’m hoping to front some of the building expenses with focusgroup income while ebay’s slow. I know I haven’t been posting, but I have been listening and it sounds like all of us in the cooky oddity boat are seeing some slow times right now.
Shipping coupon day for me is like pretzel day for Stanley on the Office. Its some of my 4 favorite days of the year. Thanks for the reminder
Thanks Sharyn! All of this helps

I’m back in the FB Marketplace game. Got unbanned, but it took like a week and I have honestly been avoiding the forum because my numbers have been that bad. It seems like I’m not alone in that though? Pandemic…life…yada yada. Here’s the tea. I took that third job. I was working like 60 hours a week. Got burned out. Stopped listing on ebay. Got really sick. Sales tanked. Got fired from third job because I was sick. Went to doc. Ran some tests. Turns out my cartoid arteries are only operating at like 50%. So I’m literally not getting enough blood to my brain, all the time. So, everything’s on pause. Taking it slow. No more jobs. Started listing on ebay again, started getting sales again. Figures.
