It’s cool that eBay solves a very specific problem for you (money for fun!) so that must be great motivation.
Yeah the definition of a coffee shop has grown over the years where they’re basically casual restaurants and wine bars. The main difference is the counter service, instead of having a hostess and servers.
Nice sales on the whiskey pitchers. I remember seeing those at auctions. We always love buying a huge lot of something and parting them out. We recently purchased a big bag of firefighter patches from across the country for $70. Now we’re selling each patch separately.
Congrats on all the continuing sales. Annoying shipping is the best problem to have.
Yes, that will put us at 7 children. Wooo boy!
Did you ever think you’d be someone with a really big family?
Look forward to seeing your numbers. I can imagine the Superbowl sparks big sales…especially because you’re so good at identifying what players buyers are looking for at special times.
I will say that I don’t know how people ONLY sell clothes/shoes. It certainly feels like a grind just selling a single kind of thing.
But yes, adding clothing/shoes to the stream certainly makes business sense.
No idea, but it certainly is cool.
I would post it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthisthing/
Sounds like you just need to get back into the flow. You’ve proven you have a good eye for items.
It’ll be interesting to see if NikNax can last. There’s been a lot of eBay-like clones over the years.
Its so nice to see that as long as you’ve been selling, you’re finding ways to improve and sell even more than in then past.
I’ve seen that for most eBay sellers, they get excited by the first sales, build up some inventory, and then fall off a cliff because of outside issues or burnout.
Glad to see you again. Hope life is just getting busy and fun for you. Sounds like you’ve created a good solid business where the “work” fits into your lifestyle.
Your choice to sell through that consignment company seems to be the real payoff. You don’t share those numbers here (because we all talk about eBay), but I assume that’s the real exciting number for you? or is eBay still a significant part of your income?

Yeah, if yoiu have more than three rentals, Airbnb weirdly hides them.
Yeah, a house is going to take longer to clean and turn into a nice Airbnb than a weekend! Does the place need any maintenance done on it? New paint or bathroom fixtures? We’ve found that investing in making it nice allows us to charge more.
But I’ve seen successful models where people just want a cheap crash pad. Low investment but regular rentals. The key is finding that “on the ground” team you can trust who will properly clean and solve problems quickly.
Yeah, you’re lost that one unfortunately. A bad buyer.
Like Retro said, we would have told him to return the wrong one first. You had successful tracking so eBay would have backed you up.
Thats so cool that you actually make the parts from raw metal.
My day job has been quite stressful as we’re having trouble with the foundry.
I knew you worked in some kind of production facility but had no idea it was a smelter? Its so crazy that your day job is a highly technical, skilled career….and then you sell old shoes on the internet in your off time 🙂
