I like to sandbag our numbers so I live off the profit on the item and not shipping. I’d love to see where $8000 profit on shipping comes from. That’s incredible. Can you give an example on an item where we see what the buyer paid and what you profited?
For instance, you had 12 sales this week. What did you profit on shipping?
Thanks for letting us know that Broadporch.com isnt shipping to Canada. We’re going to work on that today. No reason we cant ship internationally!
It is a pretty piece. So cool its survived all these years. But as you said, just because its old doesnt make it valuable.
Its all about style, design, and trend. I remember when Ginger Jars because stylish about three years ago. Usually they’d be the junk left over at auctions. Though the trend is waning, we sold a handful of our ginger jars for over $100.
“meat paste” is not a very appetizing term: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paste_(food)
In Britain, was this used in meat pies?
We appreciate it. I hope I can be 95 one day and still enjoy a cup of coffee!
Totally agree. I saw three eBay emails with three different items sold. Each one said we just made about $100. But thats the total price. eBay just sends three separate emails.
12/04/2020 at 9:38 pm in reply to: Ugh.. I dropped a fedex smartpost package at the post office…. #83996Agree. Shouldn’t be an issue. Its a label that will scan internally at USPS.
When you take it to FedEx, I think all they do is drop it off at USPS.
You should cancel the sale on eBay. You’ll get a “black mark” on your record (but its temporary). As long as you dont do this often, it’s no big deal.
How did you refund the buyer without canceling the transaction?
Yeah, just because the tracking seems dead doesn’t mean its not moving. Sometimes they just forget to scan. Tough to tell.
As far as buyers, we just communicate with them and keep them updated. 99% of buyers will be cool for quite a while. If a buyer gets grumpy, they can open a case and let eBay take time to work through the process. Its all about buying time.
Yikes. We’ve seen people discuss before about a USPS truck catching fire or some accident that destroys packages.
Have you contacted the Post Office near you?
Yes we are.
What are the dimensions laid flat on the ground?
I think its all depends on the price and desirability. If they sell for big money because they’re rare, buyers may be willing to pay t ship them in flat cardboard like any expensive print.
If you’re selling for under $30, I’d roll them up and ship. Take photos of one that was rolled up so the buyer sees the wrinkles before being received.
Have I charged more than $40,000? Between my business and all other expenses that accept Amex? Oh yeah for sure.
Wow! I can imagine five kids are expensive. Sounds like you’re on top of the points game!
Cool. Its smart to pick one program and throw all the points at it. I know many programs are making harder to get good perks after the all the point junkies began sharing the tricks in the last five years.
Diamond: The highest elite tier in Hilton Honors is Diamond status, which is earned after 30 stays, 60 nights, earning 120,000 Honors base points each year, or holding the Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express.
Do you stay at the Hilton for work? Or how much money do you spend yearly on your CC? Even if we charged our eBay shipping, we’d never hit those numbers in a year.
The Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express gets you Diamond automatically, but it also has a $450/yr fee. https://thepointsguy.com/guide/hilton-amex-aspire-review/
I hear you. $2000/month shipping is $20 cash back a month. I think you said you do miles, though airlines have made it more difficult to earn tickets.
$20 aint nothing.
Are you in Managed Payments? All our shipping labels get charged from our Managed Payment Account before they send us the payout.
What labels are you buying where Paypal is involved?
