I’m all about saving money, but i see some sellers get really wrapped up in not paying for listings. They limit their selling just to save a little money. Saving pennies but losing dollars.
Figure out a logical store level, commit, and then list list list.
How should i proceed? refund their money and let them have the item?
We needed to shift your mind set as sellers if we hoped to run a profitable business. eBay expects us to do certain things: sell quality items, correctly photographed and described, packaged properly and shipped on time. Once we’ve done this, the rest is on the buyer who needs to pay and get their item.
I would do nothing with that buyer. If they choose to not get their item, it’ll work its way through the system. I wouldnt refund until there’s an eBay case open. And even then, we’d just refund the cost of the item. The buyer refused to get their item so they eat the shipping cost.
Until then, keep your money and sleep well at night.
People have done the math and your numbers look correct. Sellers have always complained there isnt a level between Premiere (1000 listings) and Anchor (10,000 listings).
Anchor only makes sense if your really committed to go big.
We have a broken coffee maker sitting in the middle of our living room that’s been waiting for six months Ryanne to part out! She allergic to throwing anything away that she can make money on.
If you only have 3-4 claims out of 1600 items, that’s an incredibly low loss percentage.
This. Its good profit if you break up sets. but you have to be willing to store delicate items for long periods of time and ship delicate items.
Selling china and dinner wear is a whole different ballgame.

And if eBay allows NO Returns no matter what, it’d encourage bad sellers from selling broken junk that’s misrepresented. Guess the only defense is buyers leaving bad feedback and getting the seller suspended.
12/15/2020 at 11:07 am in reply to: Final Sales/No Returns and New Listing Tool, Sports Cards Envelope #84329The issue with No Returns is that if the buyer thinks the item was not described properly, they can still return it. I wonder if eBay will really be like “no returns no matter what even if the seller is a liar”?

All cash business. Never make enough to get flagged by the IRS. Make enough for rent, smokes, a burger and gas. See you next Saturday.
Though we definitely deduct everything we can, we’ve always claimed our eBay and other income. Sure, we pay taxes but we also get to show we’re a profitable business which means we can get bank loans. Bank loans let us buy property. Property helps us build wealth.

It’s great till you get caught.
Cool. So you’ve made $1600 in two months on Etsy. That’s not nothing. As you mentioned, I’ve heard Etsy is great for holidays, though I know one eBay seller that went all-Etsy and has matched her income.
I’ll be interested to see your numbers six months from now.
I wish eBay would forge a partnership with Pinterest so it’d be easier to sell eBay items on Pinterest.
Box companies hate this one trick….
Huh, so they don’t want the item, just the photos. The woman could just grab the images from eBay.
People weird requests from time to time. All depends if you want to get involved. Ignoring is the easiest.
