That is a nice change.
That’s a real haul. Either a curse or blessing depending on how organized you are.
We bought a lot of 50 cans for $10. Probably made $500 on them and still have plenty of cans left.
800 cans is a real vein you need to mine.
There are still almost no real local sourcing options so I’m running out of everything (other than hats) which is likely to result in lower sales numbers.
Is this because of the pandemic?
How many cans are we talking about ?
I’m in awe of those of you who sell on Etsy exclusively and make good money. We never have been able to crack that code. The buyers sound great!
It’d be fun if your friend started selling on eBay. You’d have a scavenger buddy!
That company is dumb to not appreciate your drive and skills. Tat’s the problems with corporations: it stops being about people and just about numbers. They rely on the fact that most people have no choice but working in a job with no way out.
I hope they come around and treat you right.
True. I think time management is an issue many scavengers likely have with family and work responsibilities. Hiring people is tough because it’s a committment we don’t take lightly. Good advice though.
Our issue with Godaddy was that it simply stopped syncing with multiple accounts. We tried endlessly to work with GD, but they said “sorry”.
If you could share reports you generate (where and when) so you have complete records at tax time I would appreciate it.
You want us to share our tax info with you? 🙂 Just go here and generate all the reports you want for yourself: https://www.ebay.com/sh/performance/sales
Do you ever have “death piles”? Or are you really good at processing all inventory before you buy new items?
We switched to Wave: https://www.waveapps.com/
Its not perfect, but doesnt have as many glitches as GoDaddy which turned to trash unfortunately.
Where did you see eBay say they would only send a 1099 if profits were under $20k? I know that’s the law for companies MUST send the 1099 if you pass that threshold, but legally you must pay taxes for anything over $600.
I know we get 1099 each year from companies we do work for. Often it’s $800, $1000. Just part of the system.
Cool! Political art is good, though not good for rentals as you said.
For our coffee shop, I know showing local artists is a thing, but we’ve decided to keep a steady hand on the design. It’ll be more polished than a random mish mash.
Hey, we’re always looking for cool unique art for our rentals 🙂
But yeah, eBay is a huge hole of stuff so you’d need to put time into standing out. Maybe on instagram or wherever you think your people are.
We’ve never tried selling artwork, but we have tried selling items we’ve made. Its always a disappointing experience.
As you probably know, it’s all about marketing. Without a name brand, it’s difficult to get people to buy your items. This is why so many online sellers put more time/money into marketing than they do their products.
Do you feel you have an audience who knows your work and is ready to buy?
