Sounds like just a twist on any scam that tries to get yu to purchase off the platform, because then there’s no protection.
Probably scammers hacked some eBay accounts. Smart to notice that.

02/17/2021 at 7:21 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 501: Shout Out To Everyone Who Shows Up and Works #85976I actually enjoy when the holiday season comes around. I like our life. But bad family can run deep. We should form a support group π

02/17/2021 at 7:20 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 501: Shout Out To Everyone Who Shows Up and Works #85974Ha! I guess even when you scavenge online you need to learn to pass on low dollar items.
How many items are listed in your store?
02/17/2021 at 7:19 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 501: Shout Out To Everyone Who Shows Up and Works #85973Yeah, I’ve forgiven myself. My brain I guess still needs to remember π
We spoke to one of these eBay advisors several years ago. It felt to us like we knew much more about selling on eBay than them. Or they had a difficult time understanding “list and forget”. They kept wanting us to list cheaper and sell faster π
02/17/2021 at 7:17 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 501: Shout Out To Everyone Who Shows Up and Works #85972It’s tough to put a time limit on a good CPA. Our taxes might be a little more complicated because we have rentals and lots of deductions, and we also break out a lot of the numbers before we have our “sit down”. But it is important for us to have a professional carefully look through everything so it’s all legal and kosher. Also allows us to ask him a lot of tax questions we have throughout the year.
If you like your CPA, you could even asked for a set price that you felt fair.
02/17/2021 at 7:14 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 501: Shout Out To Everyone Who Shows Up and Works #85971Let us know how it goes. I now the idea of just sending inventory to someone else and getting cash is what a lot sellers want. No work! Only money!
I think this would be a good experiment.
This negative feedback is the kind we get. Grumpy buyer who never asks for anything and doesn’t start a return case. We’ve tried calling eBay. All they’ll say is: this is the buyer’s opinion.
We always have several negative feedbacks each year. Always grumpy buyers. We keep selling.
02/15/2021 at 9:55 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 501: Shout Out To Everyone Who Shows Up and Works #85922That’s a nice DVD sale. As much as I look, I’ve never found a good cache of unique cassette tapes or dvd’s.Β Its all christian music or bad pop.
So cool!
If you want another place to store these films, consider making a collection at https://archive.org/. People use the videos to remix etc.
02/13/2021 at 5:45 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 500: Fireworks! Lasers! Weekly Numbers! #85890Understood. I am such a cheap skate that I have a difficult time bidding on individual items because everyone usually knows its value. But sometimes cool items go for cheap.
02/13/2021 at 4:48 pm in reply to: What is this style of drapes called and how are they used? #85888Its difficult (but not impossible) to sell custom drapes because the size was cut for a specific window.
BUT if the drapes are made from a nice fabric, people buy the fabric to re-use.
02/13/2021 at 4:40 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 500: Fireworks! Lasers! Weekly Numbers! #85886Just curious: Do you have any limit for what you’re willing to spend on items? Are you focusing on table lots?Or do you big high on the individual works of art?
(we may be bidding on some of the same auctions if youre around DC π
I guess she was a guest teacher there before we died: https://www.cmog.org/bio/lucartha-kohler
I can see the possible signature, but again, she made really wacky glass art. Our piece feels very tame. We’ll see if the museum writes back.
