Thanks for checking, my instinct was to price @ 30-50 dollars, but my copy is used so I will price on the lower end. I have more branded monopoly boards to list as well, so maybe that will help with views.
These types of sellers make it easier for us (the good sellers).
Another thing you can find once in a while with electronics especially video game consoles;
Seller writes “tested and works” but in the same listing writes “no a/c adapter” so how did you test the item ?You can also find the opposite sometimes too. Seller has video games and says “untested” but has the video game console for sale too. So why didn’t you test the game(s). That tells me they are lazy or too stupid to figure out how the console/games work. And if I am going to buy something of high value I would expect the seller to know how the product works.
I also hate when sellers put “best offer” but really don’t want any best offers. A couple weeks ago I wanted something for $14.99 and the seller had best offer. I offered $12.99 no automatic accept or reject. Next day seller responds with counter offer of “$14.49” yes .50 cents off and they had multiple units.
LOL I bought it from a different seller for $13.50.
I’ve been lucky so far and have only made one mistake. I relisted an item that I already sold (not sure how I did that) and someone purchased it. I had to refund the buyer and take a defect for cancelling a sale for being out of stock.
Thanks for the reply. I was curious if any one can find solds on ebay for this version of monopoly via worth point or terapeak. (I’m not sure what the ebay names are for these price trackers). I have found in the past that searching google will provide the same info. This the first time I haven’t found a “sold listing” via google.
I agree people won’t necessarily be searching for a Peru version of Monopoly, but I think the fact its entirely in Spanish is a selling point.
I also have a version of monoploy from some resort in the Bahamas.
I have previously sold “Elvis” “The Muppets” & “Star Wars” versions of monopoly so branded sets are selling.
I just logged into my USPS acct and was offered to sign up for the MY USPS service. Its only available in some areas. There is also a new service from the USPS where you can “preview” letters and flats addressed to you BEFORE you get them in your mailbox. It’s being marketed as “informed delivery” https://www.usps.com/business/pdf/informed-delivery-overview.pdf
Not sure why USPS thinks that’s a good idea though, as I can imagine people will eventually want to “opt out” of some of their mail such as junk mail. Junk mail is a big revenue source for USPS.
Those stickers won’t make a lick of difference, if anything it will have the opposite effect since some USPS employees will interpret that as sarcasm or criticism.
If you only knew what went on behind the scenes at USPS. All packages unless they are very big and/or heavy are tossed and thrown about all the time. Best advice is to pack your packages so they don’t move around inside. Use plenty of bubble wrap, air pillows, or dunnage.
You have to call ebay or paypal to get to the bottom of return issues usually. These cases are being decided automatically by a computer program and are not being reviewed by a human. That’s why you need to call.
I actually had the exact opposite happen to me before. As the seller I got an ebay email that said “case ### has been decided in your favor” but I never opened any cases. What happened is the buyer opened a “never received item case”.
The funny part is in their own messages to ebay they admitted that they never updated their address in ebay so the item was sent to their old address. This was also a GSP sale so they lost about $18 in shipping costs too. I don’t know if ebay eats it in a case like that, but I didn’t lose any cash.
Regarding the best offer with free shipping if you have shipping listed do you know if ebay changed this recently ? Last year I got an offer on an item in which I had shipping listed but the best offer came with “xx.xx + free shipping” the free shipping wasn’t in the body of the message it was part of the offer. I almost accept the offer, but luckily I noticed the free shipping part.
This is also one reason why I no longer do best offers.
I would love to read an ebay policy on this if it exists.
I don’t know anything about the bulk editing of items above a certain price point. In regards to the local shipping option there are 2 possibilities.
1. when a buyer sends a best offer they can specify free shipping
2. if a buyer buys something but doesn’t pay for it you can send them an edited invoice and remove shipping charges. *you can not edit the sold price however
The time limit for filing a damage claim via USPS for Priority Mail is 90 days from the date of mailing.
Other mail service may have different time limits, but priority is the most used service. In most cases it makes more sense just to send via priority due to the inherent value of the insurance (up to $100 for labels purchased via ebay)
I actually found some slides of a volcano lava flow in Hawaii from the 1980’s. Printed on the outer edge of the slides are USGS which I would imagine gives them some legitimacy. I have no idea how to photograph these to put up for sale on ebay.
I also have no idea how slides from Hawaii ended up at a church rummage sale in CT.
I believe there is a 90 day time limit on which you can request negative feedback to be removed on Amazon. I have had negative feedback removed on Amazon myself. What you do is high light the feed back then send in a request via Amazon’s system. They do not make it easy, so on the right side where it says “help” type in “how to request feedback removal” and you should get a step by step.
Generally, Amazon will remove feedback if the item was shipped late or damaged if FBA. Amazon will also remove feedback that is really a product review and not a shopping experience review. For example, buyer buys music CD but says he doesn’t like the music and gives one star. That is removable.
What really struck me about that return policy is the fact they brought up the “uniform commercial code” that’s not a term people hear nor use every day.
In regards to windows software, I have sold a lot of windows software over the years and you can sell “full retail versions” or even “educational” versions of the software without issue or any disclaimers.
Software that is stamped “OEM” is where the trouble starts. Since the “OEM” software is only supposed to be used on the original hardware. People get around this by including a hardware piece such as a hard drive, mobo, cpu, etc. I have sold OEM software as well and haven’t had any issues.
MS software is something that I’m always looking for and you’d be surprised how many people walk right by it at garage sales etc. MS software sells fast too if its priced right. I don’t think I’ve ever had MS software sit for more than a week on ebay.
Unless the price matching is automatic, like some credit card companies do, it won’t amount to any thing except some publicity for ebay. Which we in turn should benefit from, so I say engage in all the marketing gimmicks you want [ebay].
I’m more concerned with potential changes to the ebay return policy.
