Good idea on the feedback update – thanks!
NEVER edited an address label. You loose all of your protections if you ship to anything then exactly what was entered at check out. The only option you have is to cancel the sale and let the customer check out again.
Now that we are not dealing with paypal, you would think eBay would find a way to let the customer change their shipping address after payment. To my knowledge this has not happened yet.
@Zach – good idea on the domain name. I will explore that and yes I am Production Accountant on movies and TV shows (although sometimes I work in the art department, when I want to have fun).
Agree it’s frustrating and sadly it’s a trend. It is supposedly to “reduce fraud”.
and when I do find a cool MCM pattern – I price high and put the plates into my cubbord for use.
I love these
If they sell I get some extras cash, and if they don’t I have gorgeous dinnerware.
Buy a set and see if you like it. Some patterns sell more quickly than others.
The big problem with China (as others have mentioned) is storage. Particularly, if you break up a set, you are looking at long terms storage of all the pieces.
These days, unless I find something that has a really funky mid century modern pattern – I pass. I would rather dedicate my finite storage space to smaller more durable items.
I agree with Jay
4 damaged items out of 1600 is .25% loss of inventory.
Walmart, Tagret and Amazon would kill for a .25% loss due to damage.
It’s the cost of doing business.
@NC – Your math used to apply in the before times! But things have changed.
I have 2,500 listings but over 70% of them are considered media or collectibles. These listings are unlimited (technically there is a limit of up to 50k items but that is a different ballgame for anyone on this forum).
So you really need to do the math based on what percentage of your inventory does not fall into the free listings categories. I think if you are heavily into clothing, and newer goods than you would probably need to upgrade to anchor once you hit 3,400.00 listings.
Have a look at your overview page at the end of the month and see where you are landing.
12/14/2020 at 9:24 am in reply to: Taxes for 2020 – Sales over $20,000 split between Paypal and Managed Payments #84269@ Sonia – I disagree – from the Turbo tax website:
If it’s less than $400.00- can you get away with it? Of course. The IRS isn’t trolling bank accounts for loose change. But are you supposed to pay taxes on any profits? – yep.
<h1 class=”PageTitle lia-component-common-widget-page-title custom-pageTitle”><span id=”linkSubject1″ class=”lia-link-navigation lia-link-disabled”>Do I have to include self employed income if it was less than $400 and I did not receive a 1099 form?</span></h1>Yes, all income must be reported on your tax return. The $400 threshold means that you will not be subject to SE taxes on the income.
It is a common misconception that if a taxpayer does not receive a Form 1099-MISC or if the income is under $600 per payer, the income is not taxable. There is no minimum amount that a taxpayer may exclude from gross income.
All income earned through the taxpayer’s business, as an independent contractor or from informal side jobs is self-employment income, which is fully taxable and must be reported on Form 1040.
Use Form 1040, Schedule C, Profit or Loss from Business, or Form 1040, Schedule C-EZ, Net Profit from Business (Sole Proprietorship) to report income and expenses. Taxpayers will also need to prepare Form 1040 Schedule SE for self-employment taxes if the net profit exceeds $400 for a year. Do not report this income on Form 1040 Line 21 as Other Income.
Independent contractors must report all income as taxable, even if it is less than $600. Even if the client does not issue a Form 1099-MISC, the income, whatever the amount, is still reportable by the taxpayer.
Fees received for babysitting, housecleaning and lawn cutting are all examples of taxable income, even if each client paid less than $600 for the year. Someone who repairs computers in his or her spare time needs to report all monies earned as self-employment income even if no one person paid more than $600 for repairs
12/13/2020 at 7:20 pm in reply to: Taxes for 2020 – Sales over $20,000 split between Paypal and Managed Payments #84253There is no free ride. If you make $7.00 from babysitting, you technically are supposed to pay taxes on the income.
and by the way… I don’t think computer discs (even with media on them) count as media mail. Video Games definitely do not.
This happens occasionally, like the others said – I just use pirate ship and then enter the tracking number on eBay manually.
11/3 to 12/8 is 35 business days.
For awhile eBay was extending the return period. Let us know how this shakes out. It will be interesting to see if you are able to decline.
@kabubekleen Priscilla Queen of The Desert – Comes to mind.
Not sure why I got all that HTML stuff…

Thanks for sharing your experience with Pirate Ship. I use it all the time, and I never knew about the poly-mailer option.
Anyone interesting in shipping with poly-mailers should read the following article on the Pirate Ship website.
<b>The big take-away:</b> You can put boxes inside a poly-mailer, but you have to let the poly-mailer stay loose. Don’t tape the mailer to the dimensions of your box.
@Ryanne – I do all my own shipping, and, yes, checking rates on PS is annoying. After a year of checking every transaction, I figured out when it is appropriate to visit. If the item over 1 lb, fits in a small box (I love those free priority 6 x 7 x 7 boxes), AND you are shipping across the country, go to Pirate Ship. I live in New Mexico, and I never compare prices when shipping to Arizona & Texas. But I always check when I ship to Florida (there is almost always significant savings).
