HA! RETRO TREASURES has it right! I played around with the shipping calculator, and if the buyer is nearby (I’m in Washington, buyer is in Oregon), there is no surcharge, the Priority charge stays the same regardless, $8.20. If the buyer is in New York, the charge would be $29 for 15 1/2″ x 12″ x 9″ and $45 for 15 1/2″ x 12″ x 12″, so a surcharge for the larger box.

ON USPS PRIORITY SHIPPING … Has anyone noticed that ebay is not charging a surcharge on larger size boxes going Priority???
I have a small stash of the extra large Priority Mailing boxes that USPS no longer has, they are 15 1/2″ x 12″ x 12″.
I shipped a huge afghan last month, and after I dropped it off, I realized there was not a surcharge. I figured I had accidentally not put in the correct dimensions, but the box got delivered and I held my breath expecting the buyer to say they had to pay for extra shipping, but nothing.
So today I shipped a stack of Limoges china plates and used one of those boxes, expecting I would have to cut it down to squeak under the surcharge. I used to have to cut the xlarge priority box down to 9″ and it would be ok. But I put in the correct full dimensions and usps priority shipping for a 9 lb box was $8.32 , no surcharge … whoa!
Did this change and I totally missed it? I read about the new system that is supposed to catch wrong labels for weight and dimensions, but did the surcharge go away for larger priority???
Steve: Nice sales, especially that Napa cassette holder ;o) Similar are those typesetter drawers that people use to display small collectible thingies, I sold one and have another for sale. Total dust collectors. Even the compressed air wouldn’t get it all out, and I absolutely was not going to sit there with a teenie cloth and clean out all those compartments. So I put in the condition box “Vintage dust included at no extra charge.” It takes buyers with a sense of humor to shop at my store.

Gompers: The cassette holder had lots of dust, but it was all dry, so easily cleaned out with a vacuum. Compressed air would have worked also.
DOUBLYTHUMBS: I am so very very sorry to hear about this flood. I saw some on the news about it, but it’s not quite as real as hearing from someone that it has directly affected. It must be surreal right now looking at everything that was lost. So sad to think about all the very cool things that got damaged and you worked so hard to get them and list them.
But please take consolation that the most precious of all the things was not lost, and that is you and your girlfriend.
I’m so sorry to hear about your neighbors, sending prayers to everyone there. Just get through this moment, this hour, this day, and there will be a day everything is back to so-called normal. You’re a hard worker and a survivor, you’ll get through it and it will totally change you forever. God bless.

Thanks, Steve. I wish I’d kept my old portable typewriter just like that … gave it to the Good Will several years ago on a cleaning spree before I started selling on ebay. Oh well, I hope someone got it that uses it or sold it for some good bucks. I love that read one.

Thanks, Steven. Well you can never go wrong with Carhartt and Levi jackets and jeans. I do have a mannequin, but they sell so well that on jeans, I just lay them on my old oak table and take a few pics. The jackets sometimes I just hang up and take pics. But yes, do have to double check inseam. I don’t get a lot of other clothing now unless something special, like vintage Hawaiian aloha shirts or muumuus. I do look for special rock concert t-shirts but have not scored much there. But if you pick carefully, they do sell pretty quickly. And who can resist the hunt for a BIG E Levis???
How do those doggies handle the hot weather, that’s a lot of fur on the big guy.
Cool find on the space pen. That’s been on my bolo list for a long time, but haven’t found one … yet.
