Here’s some of my sales, doing better now that I have listed a few new items. Spent some time using PHOTOFUZE to clean up my old pictures on stale listings, and have had a few sales on those already. I tried it out for free, and OMG did they look better. But you don’t get pics large enough to allow the zoom in your ebay listing, so subscribing for $5 a month for now to get the larger pictures and until I get my old pics cleaned up and maybe make a better photography set up so I don’t have to fuze them. Anybody else a PHOTOFUZE fan???

Thanks, Steve. I love your sales, always learn some tidbits. Love the kittie interaction with the dogs. She has no problem with all of that playful energy and just does her thing.

I had my biggest month in 2 years in July, I had hit the estate sales hard during the time my boyfriend was out of town on some motorcycle trips, and got a ton listed and sold.
But it’s been slow for me in August as I got so haven’t been scavenging or listing much, I got mysteriously glutened and have been feeling like a super bad cold hit me, but it’s not.
Definite example of the correlation to listing and selling in my opinion.

I’m back to scavenging, but struck out a lot at thrift stores and estate sales. I did come across a very cool yard sale of a bunch of Kitty’s Critters (frogs and gheccos), tiki mugs (one mug in the bunch is worth what I paid for the whole lot), and wood tiki totems at a house not even a mile from me.
Made a quick friendship with the gals and are going to go to a tiki bar in Tacoma together, but it’s bittersweet because they are moving to the Virgin Islands early next year. Dang.

Thanks! I just tried the Bonanza Background Burner on one picture that I had also used FotoFuze on. It did result in a picture that ebay zoom worked on. However, it took my square pic and made it rectangular, not desirable. The result was very similar to FotoFuze except the edges of the item were weird, lots of little triangles in the shadow, not crisp and clear. It also was a ton slower than FotoFuze and can only upload and download one picture at a time (maybe there’s a way, but I didn’t see it on my first attempt). Anyway thanks for the suggestion, maybe there’s another one out there.

Does anyone here use FOTOFUZE to clean up the background of their pics?

I was happy as a clam after trying it and seeing how great it made my white background look, and made the items pop. Then I realized the pictures were not zooming when loaded into ebay. Fotofuze for free only did 700 pixel pictures.

To get to higher resolution (1500×1500) is a minimum of $5 a month, which allows you 1500 photos. $10 a month for unlimited photos.

Anyone have the subscription? Is it worth it overall? Are there other alternatives that do the same and are free? I know I know, but I’m an ex-techie and our motto is “free is better than cheap.” But that usually applied to food. Oh well, I digress.

Any help on alternatives or a push to sign up for Fotofuse would be appreciated.

Doublythumbs: I’m so glad to hear you are recovering somewhat from your ordeal. It was horrible to imagine the reality of it from your description, but seeing these pictures really shows how powerful that water was and how devastating. That water was almost up to the main floor!!! I cannot imagine what it was like to peer down into your basement and see that.

They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. You must be like Hercules by now.

I’m always attracted to the Hawaiian stuff as my mom was born and raised in Hawaii and we always had lots of cool island stuff around.
Generally one of these unmarked busts would be about $30-$40 and a nice one with the Marwal logo about $120-$140. The paint was in good condition so I went high in spite of it not being marked.

I called ebay customer service this morning and got the response that I needed to message the buyer and ask for more money to pay for the combined shipping … I THINK NOT! She even offered to send the message herself … NO!

It took me about 30 minutes to get through to her that there is a software problem, that charging for shipping 1 item when 11 were purchased needs to be fixed. She finally agreed to open up a ticket with tech support to look at it.

Anyway, watch your multiple item listings.

Thanks for the ideas, but the additional cost box only shows up when doing FLAT shipping, I am doing CALCULATED, no boxes show up.

In the past I know it has multiplied the calculated shipping by the number of items and I had to do a partial refund via PayPal.

I made a great sale on 11 pair vintage new in package JC Penney pantyhose I just got at an estate sale this last weekend for $3 each.

I had shipping options as 1st class mail and USPS Priority Flat Rate Padded Envelope, with quantity 11 for $19.99 each.

One buyer bought all 11 pair and paid right away. She was able to select USPS PFRE and pay only $7.20 for 11 pair! But uhhhhh, 11 pair will not fit in a PFRE!

Anybody else have this problem? In the past if the buyer paid on a multiple item purchase, they were charged for the individual price x the number of items, and I would then have to refund them in PayPal.

Anybody else having a problem with the best offer parameters on listings?

For example on a listing where I have had these parameters for months:

Buy It Now price $59.00
Automatically accept offers of at least $49.00
Automatically decline offers lower than $49.00

I just got this message when updating:

It looks like there’s a problem with this listing.
The price for accepting offers cannot be lower than or equal to the price for declining offers.

The only way I can get it to take is
Automatically accept offers of at least $49.00
Automatically decline offers lower than $48.99

So what happens if someone offers exactly $48.99 ???

Love the witch’s hat .. As J&R have recommended to look for ephemera and little booklets and pamphlets, I snatched up a box of old music stuff that was stored in a big box of packing materials, the box covered in spider webs and lots of ook. It was filled with old Victor Records catalogs and pamphlets and other cool items. I paid $20 for the whole box and have sold about a third of it now for over $360.
