I have limited energy, so I do things in stages. Scavenge on Friday and the weekend, prep items (clean, test & put them in my spreadsheet) another day, photos in light tent one day, list a few and make drafts for the rest another day, photos on mannequin another day, list a few and make drafts for the rest another day. Then I have drafts to just submit on the weekend when I am scavenging, and the next day when I am prepping, and on big photo days. I try to always have at least 1 new item to list every day.
And I just looked up Scully handbags … Scully is now on my BOLO list. Thanks.
Sigilini: Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video. You find some cool stuff. I always look out for chess boards and pieces and do well with them, but I usually find the stone boards and they are super heavy to ship. I like the wood one.
Good job on the boot scraper. Old rusty stuff is good, I’m always amazed at some of the things I have sold like that.

I also had a successful resolution of a return case using eBay for Business on Facebook. I messaged them on a return request (does not fit) for a Levis 541 jeans sold through GSP, buyer in Germany saying they were way way way too small. Levis 541’s are an “athletic fit” and much tighter than other Levis, but it’s not indicated on the tag. I measured the jeans carefully and put that in the listing. The buyer had messaged me in German and also using Google Translate, but I felt that the language barrier had made it so he did not understand what he was buying. I received $21.20 total from the sale, buyer paid $45.73 with GSP. I was prepared to refund the buyer the whole $45.73, but decided to reach out to eBay for Business as I have heard others do. I did that on Monday, which apparently is their very busy day. I heard back from them Tuesday morning, they had already refunded the buyer the full price that I received (buyer can keep the jeans), and created a request to refund the rest of the GSP fees, which can take up to 72 hours for the buyer to get. So, the buyer will get back everything they paid. I’m glad it worked out for the buyer and also selfishly for me! Happy buyer, happy life, happy seller, happier life.
Cooking a lot at home is very necessary with Celiac’s, so I do what you guys do a lot already. It isn’t that hard, cook up a big hunk o protein and use it in various dishes the next night, make big batches and freeze up for future dinners, and on and on. I thought you had a little food forum, but I do not see it. I thought of you when I saw this recipe for using some of that InstaPot chicken you make, I’m going to try it tonight:

Thanks for another good one. You two made me smile, thinking of how bad off I was when I got laid off in 2015 from my 26 year computer career, and subsequently found out I had Celiac’s disease, I was too sick to go back to work for awhile as I had gone undiagnosed since I was probably 19 years old. Then somehow I miraculously found your youtube’s. Seriously, you guys saved me, I was walking on the edge. I’m 61 now, paid off an additional $9,000 on my home mortgage last year, and on track to reach the goal that I had before I was laid off of having it completely paid off by the time I’m 65. It is so frickin do-able!!! Thank you thank you thank you!

Nice, Doublythumbs. That Schaefer jacket was a really good find! I prefer selling men’s clothing, especially better quality stuff. I hardly ever have a return and if I do, it’s just returned and they pay for return shipping without complaint or games. In my opinion, women’s clothing is much more trendy, a lot more of it out there, so more competitive and priced lower for similar items. I used to be a Men’s Department manager at a Calif. department store… can you tell?

After my dad retired from the Air Force, he had a Union 76 gas station through the 70’s in the little beach town of Carpinteria, CA. He lost it in a mud slide after the hills behind the town burned, much like the one recently in Montecito, CA. The mud came right through our neighborhood, wound down the street not taking out any houses at all, but all ended up in his little gas station. That little gas station kept us well taken care of through Jr. High and High School, my responsibility was to total up all the receipts with an old tape adding machine and to keep the coffee/hot chocolate machine clean. It was a good time. I wish I had some items from that gas station, but it all got wiped out.

Doublythumbs: I had an expensive and heavy law book come back to me (and with postage due for the return trip) because the buyer’s apartment building did not accept packages. I contacted buyer through ebay messages several times and no response. I got buyer’s email address and tried that way, no response. Just over a week went by and buyer opened a case through PayPal. I called PayPal who helped me respond to case, uploaded tracking, pics of box with markings on it, copies of messages and emails trying to contact buyer. I was told it would definately go in my favor.
PayPal refunded the buyer in total, shipping and everything, so I was in the hole for shipping and return shipping. So since then I refund buyer for item price immediately upon receipt of the return and message them I have done that, and that I have relisted the item if they want to buy it again. I feel this way I am more protected, it’s not happened again since.
So my advice, refund item price immediately to head off any other claims.
