I bought a gooseneck lamp just like that recently, it works but the wiring is really bad and scarey. I have an electrician who will rewire it for free if I just buy the parts. I found the wrapped cord, but am having trouble finding the little socket with the flat paddle knob. I might have to just have him use that, but I’d feel a lot safer if the whole thing could be done with newer electric parts as long as they look authentic.

I just returned a pair of BORN clogs I bought on ebay because they were stuffed into a PFRE so tightly, the top leather had squashed over and put a nice crease in the top of each from being forced into folding over during shipping. I tried stuffing the shoes and wearing them in the house for awhile, but the crease remained. The seller had to pay shipping both ways. When I first received them, I thought it was fine using the PFRE a la Ryanne style, but they were so stuffed in there, and the flap was over so tight, there was no wiggle room, I could have easily cut or scratched the shoe. So that was my only concern at first, and then I saw the creases and wasn’t happy.
Paul … do you also have Celiacs? If so I recommend you join celiac.com and celiac.org to get regular emails and information. It’s a long learning curve and lots of other things pop up from the nutritional deficiencies caused by it.
I went through the gluten withdrawal in 2015 after finding out I had Celiac’s. It was like I was hit by a semi that backed up over me over and over again. Feeling much better now. The best part was I could throttle back on the ebay as I needed and no boss was yelling at me. Take care, hope you are well.
I was at the 62 Seattle Worlds Fair. 6 years old but I remember parts of it really well. I have some old pictures around here somewhere. Good luck with those. I’d love to see your listings.
Oh and thank you two for all the times you’ve talked about selling really messed up distressed things for costumes or for movies, etc. I bid on a fringed buckskin jacket sight unseen … yikes. Got it for $6.00, but when I picked it up, it was stiff, covered in powdery mildew, some missing fringe, and the pockets were coming unstitched, but the worst was it stunk to high heaven. I thought of just throwing it away or donating it, but remembered you guys.
So I hosed it off and looked up how to get rid of the mildew (put it in a big bag in the freezer and forget about it for awhile, kills off the mildew, it’s how the natives did it). When I took it out and let it defrost and dry, almost all the smell was gone, it just smelled like buckskin, not the gagging mildew.
So I listed it at $59.00 obo, got a $50.00 offer the next morning.

Congrats on clearing our your death piles. I also took the winter time to clean out more of my own stuff. The sales were good, but lower dollar, but it was all fine by me. I’m going to start on my overstuffed closet of all my silk blouses and leather jackets from my work days…hard to part with some of it because I have that personal connection and know how much they cost originally, but it would be nice to have half the closet for my ebay stuff. Starting to go back to estate sales, got a few cool finds at one not even a mile away. Yard sales will not start back up in the rainy northwest for awhile.
Thanks, Steve, once again. I used to see those wire record holders all the time and passed them up. Now that you’ve taught me about them, I can’t ever find them!!! Oh well.

Thanks, BethGreen, your experience is consistent with others I have talked with about claims. I’m gradually taking FedEx Smartpost off listings that I don’t absolutely have to have it on because they are very heavy and USPS is very costly. With my discount, USPS is usually pretty close in cost.
