Love that a hot plate/warming tray sold. We had to get some for when we had no kitchen during our house renovation and they were not cheap! Share your[See the full post at: What Sells On eBay: Record stands, Lava Lamp, Jackets, 1933 Chicago Worlds Fair Lamp, Hot plate]

Steve we are about the same age—really? never tried LSD? man it was almost a prerequisite to try it in the ’70’s….

I know right? Just about everything else though.
Hey, there’s still time, maybe when I’m a bit older and won’t want to travel window pane will be an easier trip-

LOL, I highly suggest that you don’t become an acid tripping hippie in your dotage Steve. I did mushrooms in the early 90’s and no tripping for me ever again.

Was in my early 20’s in the seventies. Never used drugs. Didn’t have any personal friends who did. It was not normal behavior in my circles. But I was also a wife and mother, so my focus was on my family and home. This was not unusual at all.

Thanks, Steve, once again. I used to see those wire record holders all the time and passed them up. Now that you’ve taught me about them, I can’t ever find them!!! Oh well.
Your cat knows shes a star, that sweet doggie knows she’s the boss too. Thanks for making me smile this morning, needed it. -

I wish I was a fly on the wall in the World’s Fair gift shops… I’ve found some really strange gifts over the years. Seems like they branded everything.
Some interesting sales this week:
Husqvarna Snap Back Cap
http://www.ebay.com/it191831640698
Not vintage, new/unused. No tags, so probably a promotional item. Got 2 of them at an estate sale for no more than $1. Sold for $20 best offer.1964 Fireball XL5 Metal Thermos
http://www.ebay.com/itm/201621520439
I always pick up old Thermos when out and about because usually they are damaged/lost and people need them for their lunch boxes. I paid up for it, $10, and sold for $60 best offer.Vintage Fisher AG7-SH Space Pen
http://www.ebay.com/itm/192032201483
Fisher has made dozens of different models of Space Pens over the years after their popularity grew. Some are super cheap and can be found for $5-$10 retail, but this is the original model just like used in the Space Shuttles – all chrome with a gold colored Space Shuttle. Bought 4 at an estate sale for $10 each, this is the first to sell for $50 best offer.Hand Carved Polish Antelope
http://www.ebay.com/itm/201621363379
This was another item originally posted for my store when my grandmother passed away. I picked her house when we were having the house sale/yard sale 1) for things I wanted to keep and 2) that I thought were too valuable for the yard sale… to date I’ve sold over $2000 worth of trinkets & decor from her house (I’ve been tracking them separately) that I probably wouldn’t have gotten more than $50 for at a yard sale. This sold for $25.-

Space pen! Reminds of that Seinfeld episode. “No, you keep it Jerry”.

Haha. I had to look at your listing–I was surprised that there could be such a thing as a Polish antelope. I guess you meant polished. 🙂

Haha, might be a little confusing with the way worded… but I do mean Polish – as in made in Poland.

Happen to be watching Seinfeld on TBS right now. I thought I’d seen them all, but I don’t remember the space pen one.
Steve, I can’t believe how well your adorable cat and dog get along. I’ve never seen anything like it. We used to have a calico. She was the best cat ever!
How do you ship the record stands?

I get this plastic backed foam material from the Ford dealer, it’s about a 1/4″ thick and works great for all kinds of things. I use it to wrap the stands and then just stuff it in a box with styrofoam to fill in any gaps.
So far so good, I’ve shipped these all over the world.-

Picked this butter mold out of my mother-in-law’s goodwill donation box, so it was free. She purchased it in the early eighties when they were stationed in Belgium and Germany. She just downsized from a 6 bedroom colonial in PA to a 3 bedroom ranch in CO. She had tons of antiques she sold to a dealer.
It took 6 months to sell but sold at $189.99 full price!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/282142824028Because of the what sold videos, I decided to try some Michigan brochures from an estate sale. Purchased for a dollar sold for $22.

A few of my interesting sales for the week:
When I first found the Scavenger Life website, the What Sold videos showed a number of sales of vintage camping gear. So, I purchased a vintage sleeping bag at an estate sale for $5, in April 2016. Once listed, it sat around with very little interest. Since I had less than 50 listings at that time, I was constantly checking on it. Once I had more listings, I stopped obsessing on it. In true “list it and forget it” fashion, it finally sold for a best offer of $35:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=182099346306I had a few offers of $20 for this wool blanket that were just was a little too low. I finally got an offer of $26, which I accepted. It was part of an online auction lot, and the cost was mere pennies:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=182207168240Here is another online auction purchase, which cost me $8.80. It is part of my goal to buy higher priced items even if it means a lower ROI. This was a unique item – a bar plaque made in the former Soviet Union. I sold it for a best offer of $40:

I had to take a return, and I re-listed them correctly as men’s. Hopefully, they stay sold. Sold for $35, paid a dollar or two:

Really interesting! I have a similar record stand, but I haven’t listed it because I was unsure how best to ship it. Steve, how did you ship your record stands? And did you charge the buyer for shipping?
Thanks!

Steve, the green Buffalo plaid shirt was beautiful. Loved the cat and dog. My calico and Sheltie used to play fight every morning and were very devoted to each other. My friend has an orange cat that routinely jumps up and rides around on her ginormous Percheron horses. Animals are awesome! I’m still on the lookout for one of those metal record tables. Thanks for the videos!
