That’s exactly what I did. Paid off everything, including the mortgage, and then banked all that money for 6 months until I realized I had been handed an impossible task at work. When I quit my savings, plus the 2+ months of vacation I was paid, propelled me through the rest of this first year of reselling.
12/31/2018 at 2:24 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 392: No Alarm Clocks – We chat with Troy aka T-Satt about the eBay Lifestyle #54243I see Target stuff with the white tags at the bins. In fact, I picked up some funny Halloween bubbles yesterday – still in package – that I’ll either resell next fall or give out to trick or treaters.

I assumed they were donated and then Target took a tax write-off. No wonder the prices for the new Target stuff is so high at Goodwill. Sometimes they leave the old clearance stickers on and you can see that the Goodwill price is higher than the clearance price.

I have heard that Nordstrom Rack has a similar policy – they flag people who buy “too much stuff” using their Nordstrom credit card. I believe their reasoning is that the resellers come in and buy up all the really low priced clearance items but do not look at the rest of the store. They think it discourages the “regular buyer” from coming in and checking things out. The “regular buyer” might come in, check out the clearance rack and then check out the rest of the store, possibly buying other items at full price. If it becomes known that the clearance rack never has anything good, those folks won’t bother coming in at all.
I don’t know if this is true or not but that’s the chatter among the Poshmark folks on Instagram.
I clicked on an imgur picture in the what sold thread, then ended up scrolling the front page where I found this.

And Granddad with his new kicks. I love seeing little kids wearing their light up sneakers. I bet they are even more awesome on grown ups.

I’ve only ever sold textbooks and I never sent in the business info they wanted when I signed up for a seller account so maybe that’s the problem.
Selling on Amazon isn’t really something I’m super excited to do so I haven’t bothered to investigate it further.
Ryanne – that’s how I’m doing photos too.
For titles, I’m pasting the ebay title into the description and then pasting it again in the title line so that I can delete any weird half words that result.I believe they just started drafts, so maybe you can use that to your benefit. I think people have said that you can only have 15 drafts at a time.
I don’t know why it was sent 1st class because every label I have gotten from Posh has been a priority label. It doesn’t make sense to me because the seller doesn’t get any money for shipping, nor do they pay any money for shipping. It is all handled by Posh.
Almasty – poshmark sellers don’t get any kind of reimbursement if they ship something first class.
I’ve only bought 1 thing and it was an easy, smooth transaction. They automatically took the cost of the item out of my Posh balance and it was mailed quickly.
There’s a thread somewhere where we’ve talked about it a little.
I think it’s a much younger audience than Ebay – 90s stuff has sold well for me over there. I am resentful of the amount of work that goes into it with all the sharing. It’s only a few minutes a day but it irritates me to no end.
Stupid reason that it irritates me –
1. it’s lazy coding on their end, they didn’t build an algorithm and are relying on user work to create one via sharing,
2. I think the constant sharing drives traffic to their website and they are able to show artificially inflated numbers,
3. I don’t have to do it on Ebay and am being childish about having to do it on Posh. One of the things t-shirt collectors look for is single stitch hems and sleeves. See if your shirt has a single line of stitching rather than 2 parallel lines. If so, this is a sought after detail and you’ll want to advertise it.

Folks, make sure you do some due diligence if someone says you have an item they didn’t mean to donate or sell. Especially if it is a high dollar item.
12/14/2018 at 8:56 am in reply to: Crazy Buyer trying to scam me or rightful owner of my estate sale finds? #53347This is a pretty well known scam. Let me guess, one of the items was something she wore to her father’s funeral.
