I used a poly mailer for a long time until I received two complaints of crushed hats. Interestingly enough each hat was priced over $25. I think the buyer was offended that an “expensive” hat arrived in a plastic bag. Requests for damage photos went unanswered. Since then I have shipped in 8x6x4 boxes and have had no complaints. I use the boxes for hats and other small stuff. The hats still ship first class so all is good.
That was my though that it looked princess like. The real coach is totally different. These looked like they didn’t belong on a cheap green polyester blazer size 52
Duh…the picture would help.
http://imgur.com/a/9nMcTIf the size of each wire area is at least 8.5″ x 11″ then it may be for holding paper of some kind. Reports, colored paper or little pamphlets for different things like in an office or maybe scrapbook paper. Interesting…very interesting.
I looked at the stickers and they are 3″ x 3″. Typically a circle is listed by the diameter. Does that mean that the stickers are 3″ thick? 😮
Thanks for the input. I did counter with $250 thinking that $200 (half price) would be fair but he just let the offer expire. I was thinking of removing some items and this was one but I think I’ll just let it ride.
And when I saw the $1 I did laugh. If you have stated in your listing that all items in the original shipment must be returned in the same condition as you shipped them then you should be covered. I had someone send back part of a shipment, ages ago, and I was covered. It would be interesting to know if eBay refunded the buyer but I didn’t call eBay to find out. Recently I sold some jeans and they just marked the padded flat rate envelope “return to sender please credit”. I received them with tracking and refunded less my restocking fee.
You might also think of things in your area, not necessarily at thrift stores, that are unique to the area. Regional food, farm tools, ranch items, cow skulls and almost anything you can think of. Just use your imagination and then look it up online to see if there is a market for it.
That little lip on the squarish end makes me think that this may be part of a lazy susan set. Not sure since I didn’t find any like this one but there are many, many shapes out there.
Holy Cow habnab I think you just nailed it. It sure helps to have friends who know things!
Wow thanks for all the info. I thought the dome on the building may be Russian but with nothing surrounding it I couldn’t tell. I started the auction/listing at $50 with a BIN at $300. May be stretching it but you don’t know until you try. I’ll add the Russian info to the listing. Thanks again
03/16/2017 at 1:18 pm in reply to: Sizing vintage clothing – what size do you put in title and item details? #14644I used to go all out in measuring an item. Chest, shoulder to hem, sleeve length and width, waist, on tops, lapel width on blazers, waist, rise, inseam for pants. Now I just do chest, shoulder to hem, waist, rise, inseam. Yes, its a hassle and no fun to do but it is a necessary evil. I still get a few questions about measurements but most of the answers are in the listing if they would just READ the listing. The few vintage items I have listed I do what you do and state that vintage sizes vary from current sizing. Seems to work for me.
I had two listings for shoes flagged and they pulled them for the velcro word. They mainly pull listings that have velcro in the title but I left the term in the listing and haven’t had any additional trouble. Cross your fingers. Unless the item specifically says that it used velcro brand you cannot use that term for your item. Funny thing is that most items use a generic brand of hook and loop fastener and not the velcro brand item due to cost!! I just use adjustable in the title if the cap has velcro and then explain in the description. Hook and loop closure takes up too many spaces in a title. Velcro is constantly scouring ebay for violations and there always seems to be thousands more than my 2 or 3 listings with the “bad word”
Try stained glass scissors…Can’t tell if they are lead or pattern shears but probably one of those.
