Use the “undercover” option of your browser (on Google Chrome it’s called Incognito) to search for your items on eBay. Look to see if your account has been accidentally set to vacation mode. Check your shipping times too. If they’re set to an incorrect parameter, eBay will sometimes assume you’re on vacation mode. (P.S. You didn’t have to be the one who set these. eBay’s software glitch is wide-ranging at the moment!)
If you can’t see anything wrong, try stopping listing for a couple days. Sometimes the reverse action happens – you stop listing and eBay throws a bone.
Also, on your Overview page under the Growth section, there’s a link to Invalid/Missing Product Identifiers. Fix those and see if that helps.
Good luck!
WARNING ABOUT eBAY
Be careful what you buy on eBay.
If you buy stuff online, check out the seller carefully.
A friend has just spent $295, plus postage, on a penis enlarger.
Bastards sent him a magnifying glass.
The only instructions said, “Do not use in sunlight.”

SOLD FOR $305.00
SOLD DATE Jun 04, 2011My SKUs are alpha-numeric, with a letter prefix and numbers. So F350 is for general items like decor, and it is the 350th item I’ve listed. S275 says I’ve done 275 Shoes. I print out the SKUs on Avery 8160 labels and keep them in a folder by my listing area. I just pull one off the sheet and slap it on the bag into which the item is stored. That way I don’t have to remember what was the last number I used, nor do I have complicated spreadsheets to keep track.
In the SKU field, the items are listed with the SKU first, then a two letter code for where I got it, and a digit price, rounded up to the nearest dollar. So, using the examples above, F350Yd2 would be SKU F350 purchased at a yard sale for $2. S275TS4 would be item S275 purchased at a thrift store for $4. I don’t stress about dates as I have plenty of storage space and it can sit for as long as necessary (or until I get bored seeing it in my inventory.) If you want more info, I’ll give you the codes and detail on storage.
Thanks everyone.
Spreadsheet updated. VL wins again.
Now get better, VL! 😉

SOURCE eBayLukas – I bought the ESDDI because it was a lightning deal, got it for around $60 delivered and it has been a game changer. There are several issues with it that made me realize the Amazon one was a better buy. They’re incredibly easy to set up and take down, offer a myriad of options, and my photos, with a little editing, tend to come out terrific. The fault in my photos lies in my camera, not the set up.
However, it is a chunk, at 24″. So I bought a little one for smalls and it’s perfect desktop size. It sets up so fast and for little items like sewing machine feet or saucers or a cellphone cover, it’s the best. I wondered if buying two was overkill, but now I’m glad I did. If I had a do-over, I’d buy the Amazon 24″ and perhaps a 12″ small instead of the 9″.
Have you considered a lightbox? I now have two, the ESDDI that I got from Amazon (although I recommend the Amazon version, it seems to have resolved the issues I have with the ESDDI) and a little one that looks like this but I found mine on eBay. Between the two of these, I can get most anything except clothes done. For big items, I use the 24″ box and just open the front and one side, then take photos from the diagonal angle. Works great!
@ChristineR Thank you.
eBay, Etsy, and ThredUp all list croc skin items. I know ivory is illegal, but hadn’t heard that croc skin is.
Thanks VL. She was cremated this weekend and her ashes will be scattered on the farm.
Despite my resolution last week, I listed zero. I think everything caught up with me. My husband kindly called it a “meltdown” (I woulda said it was a tantrum!) when I freaked out that I couldn’t move in my space. I run multiple businesses out of a 17’x14′ room which is our primary living space for anything you’d normally do in a living room. It also has my sewing “room” and my “office”, and all of the sewing machines that have been serviced pending pick up from his business; as well as being the “dump” space for anything that anyone doesn’t know where to put stuff.
This week I ripped it apart. I packed up my entire sewing stash into labelled boxes, and anything else that absolutely didn’t HAVE to be here into more labelled boxes and stacked them all in our tiny guest bedroom. (It’s so small, we have a full size bed. A queen doesn’t fit!) I threw away a 6ft bookshelf and rearranged furniture, with my sewing table tucking away into one corner and other furniture being moved out too, pending donation/disposal. The resulting mess must be cleared, with stuff that needs to find a home scattered on the floor until I decide if it stays or gets boxed up as well. And while it still looks like I survived a tornado, I feel like I can breathe just a little easier.
Furthermore, Himself has promised that, by June, we will finance one of those little wooden cabins to be built on the other end of the ranch and we will move both the big “stuff” businesses (my eBay and his sewing machines) out of the house; to have a home again, instead of an office we live in.
All of that ^ combined with still running his business, my dance classes still going on, and the most incredible run of bad luck on eBay with multiple returns and shipping issues, culminated in no listings. I do my best to keep up, I really do, but this week I just lost the plot and went postal.
Ah well… interesting ride. Now I get to look forward to a new office in the spring, and this week I’ll finish cleaning up the current office. Guess what? I’ve actually got a space now where I can put up a Christmas tree! First time in 3 years. See, there’s always something good in troubles.

Sent him the options above and he went for #2. It was a $50 item.
