@always-a-trade-off-u-kThank you for the compliment Jay.
I have great hope for these badges If I can find the right buyer, they are (as my father would of said) as “rare as hens teeth”
Everytime I go out scavenging always buy sure fire “winners” when I see them, however If things are cheap I always buy some “wild cards” if the price is right for “Failure is Success If We Learn From It” and if they dont or are worth nothing I just put them on my stall at the flea market (car boot sale) and recoupe some or all of the cost.

@always-a-trade-off-u-kSize is 1″ x 5″
The Swan One is in fact a box of English matches that I used for scale, something virtually everyone in the UK would recognise, sorry my mistake !
Maybe I should have thought this through a little more when I took the photo and included a rule as a guide doh !! lesson learnt

@always-a-trade-off-u-kUpdate
I have just derusted this item and have found the name Evans and Co. London on the inside of the handle. With a little research with Mr Google I found that they were surgical intruments makers in London from 1676 to 1874. Looking at it again I think it could be for removing bullets, musket balls, or even arrows from some poor unfortunate ! Ouch thats got to smart.
I found it at a garage sale last month in Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk for 50p ! I always buy unusual looking tools if they are rusty and cheap.

@always-a-trade-off-u-kNo parts are missing, it just a very simplified version of a plane. I have checked under both of the handles for any markings but can’t see anything. I think I will clean the corrosion off the sides tomorrow to see if anything is stamped on the sides.

@always-a-trade-off-u-kHi from the U.K.
My aim is a minimum sale of appx. £24.99 and a 4 to 1 cost ratio i.e. pay £6 sell for £25. This works for me.
