@always-a-trade-off-u-kI recommend looking out for NATURAL tool sharpening stones, (not the manmade ones) you can pick them up for very little money and when they are cleaned up they can make loads of ££’s or $$$’s If you do some research in sold items you will soon learn what to look out for.

@always-a-trade-off-u-kHi Jay
The answer to your first question is there are some larger warehouse style Charity Shops here in the UK, however retail space is costly here in the UK (particularly in the South), so I think that this restricts more from opening. As to the public being embarrassed – no I don’t think so.
Yes, you are right about car boot sales – there are many to choose from on every day of the week now, some are massive and can take a day to walk round, (and many of the “Booters” are professional full time traders) some are tiny and attended by people who just want to sell unwanted stuff and go home.
As to the front yard question – yes occasionally, although generally speaking they are not well attended,(I love them and have grabbed many bargains). Sometimes you get community garage sales.

@always-a-trade-off-u-kHere in the UK I always aim for a minimum sale price of £25 – list buy it now for £30 and take £25. I aim to net AT LEAST 4 times the purchase price of an item. I love small car boot sales – more people selling than buying, and rain in the air, prices are only going one way – down !!
