If you don’t want the gift, simply write “rejected” on it and leave it for your postal delivery person. If you don’t open it, it will be returned free of charge. Annoying gift problem solved.
And now we know how to skirt the system. lol Interesting topic.

01/23/2017 at 10:47 pm in reply to: Glad I Didn't Do FBA – Merchant Fulfilled Still Profitable #11005I stayed with merchant fulfilled after hearing about all the issues and fees. I do okay with slightly better profits compared to ebay on some books, even with Amazon’s higher fees.
I agree. Just wondering if I was missing something. It’s an added expense as well.
01/22/2017 at 4:26 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 294: Finding the Valuable Caches and Going All In #10870I had no luck in reaching out with a no contact negative. I refunded, sent them an apology for my oversight, and sent the feedback revision. I never heard back from them. I got a neutral lately, and I’m thinking that I will do nothing unless they initiate a return or contact me. I think people who leave poor feedback with no contact are just grumpy. If they really wanted to work with you, they’d contact and/or initiate a return. It’s not like I don’t accept returns and these people were experienced eBayers. On the bright side, I have learned where to look for issues and what not to buy due to the potential for issues. They may be grumpy and caused a little ding to my feedback, but I’m getting better because of them.
Thanks, Sonia. I did respond something along those lines.
If you have a Nordstrom’s near you, the shoe sales people are very helpful and may be able to size the shoe for you.
Thanks, Mike. I accept any and all returns, so the reason is not an issue for me, just the insinuation that I may have tried to deceive a customer. That’s not good for business.
I would never intentionally omit information. The last sentence, “Now I know why you sold them.” looks to me as if I knew they were defective and sold them without mentioning this defect. From now on, I will wear the shoes to test them for issues. I may still have issues, but it’s one less potential problem to concern myself with when grading and describing shoes accurately.
Thanks for weighing in. Yes, I do take returns. I use the 2-week ebay return option.
Ordinances prohibit diving in my area, but I still curb pick. One time a neighbor down the street came out and took down my license for looking through stuff on the street! Nothing came of it. If the police had come, I’m sure I would have been okay as I lived in the neighborhood and it was piled on the public curb, a good distance from the entry of any homes.
I dive for boxes and bubble wrap, and seek permission if I see an employee. Pier One in my area doesn’t mind as long as you ask and don’t make a mess.
There are so many native products that are wonderful but may not sell for much in the states. I’ve never been to Costa Rica, but I’ve lived next door in Panama which shares many of the same craft work. You couldn’t get this back in your suitcase, but they have some fabulous handmade furniture. Hand carved spirit masks are doing well on ebay. Without checking the ended listings, pre-Columbian art and jewelry might do well.
