Thanks, VL! Congrats to you & Charlie on getting your vaccines also. Thanks also for the MCM challenge criteria update. I’ll have to look to see if any of my listings last week did meet those guidelines. I was thinking it would be as Sharyn thought, items with MCM style only.
I’m even more excited now because I just read the new CDC guidelines which state that the J& J vaccine is completely effective after just 2 weeks. So my shopping commencement date has now been moved up to March 20th! I’m also thinking about a bins run. We have 3 in the Denver area. I have a favorite location though and I’ve never been to one of the locations here due to others saying the picking is super aggressive there. Luckily that location is the farthest from my house.

13 new listings for me, none met the MCM challenge.
I got the J&J vaccine on Saturday. The hospital that hosted the vaccine event sent an email afterwards that said the J&J vaccine is fully effective 2-3 weeks from your vaccine date. So as of March 27th I’ll be shopping like a maniac. I can’t wait!!!
I didn’t get a 1099 this year either, although by my calculations I should have. I did wonder if the switch to managed payments had made it seem as though I didn’t meet the $20,000 threshold. I guess that was the case. However I reported my over $20,000 in eBay sales on my taxes even though I didn’t get a 1099.
Our old retail business was once involved in an IRS audit and when we asked why we were being audited it was explained to us that it was just a training exercise for new IRS agents. But I never ever want to go through that again! Paying our accountant to produce documents for the IRS agent cost us a fortune. Better safe than sorry.
Worth losing the freed up space for IMHO! I’ve had really good luck with selling needlepoints (after I’ve discarded the frames). Almost every single one I’ve ever listed has eventually sold. Sounds like you got a great score with that lot. Congratulations!
Holy cow Sharyn, that’s a LOT of artwork. Especially for $5! I hope there are some gems in there. But even if not, you can’t go wrong at that price!
Amatino, I’m so sorry to hear about the continued problems caused by the (not so) great Texas freeze. Wishing you back to running water ASAP. It’s amazing that you are able to list at all with everything you’re dealing with. But we don’t call you “Our Fearless Leader” for nothing!
I managed 10 new listings for the week and made my goal, but no gold star for extra effort for me. 9 of those listings met the paper challenge. My recount for my paper listings for the month is 53 (I had missed 2 paper items in my total for week one).

I moved to Chicago from Phoenix, Arizona at age 17. A couple of weeks after I relocated I was waiting for the bus and realized that I was standing on top of a mailbox. The snow was deeper than the USPS postbox.
It was quite a rude awakening moving to Chicago from Phoenix in January. Fingers crossed that your winter this year stays mild!

I lived there for 30 years, but I live in Colorado now. Chicago is a great city with so many wonderful places to scavenge – but Chicago winters are too long and too cold!
WBird is correct. If an item shows delivered you don’t need to refund the buyer at all.
I had the same issue, a buyer claimed that the item which scanned as delivered was not delivered to her. I did everything I could to help: I suggested she ask her postal carrier about the item, call her local post office regarding the problem, ask her neighbors if it had been misdelivered, post a sign in her apartment lobby asking about the item, etc. She had said that she lived in a large apartment building and mail was often placed in the wrong mailboxes.
Anyway, she got really nasty about it and accused me of calling her a liar, demanded her $ back and then left negative feedback when I didn’t refund her. EBay removed the negative feedback because the item was scanned as delivered. EBay will always remove feedback if it’s about an item not being delivered that has been scanned as delivered.
Utahbill – Unfortunately “no thanks” wasn’t one of the choices you could click on the survey. I guess if I’d had the option to write what I wanted I would have echoed Jay “Why do you need to charge a fee to get my money to me quicker?”
Oh Julie B, please accept my condolences for your loss. February 19th was the one year anniversary of us putting our 19 year old cat to sleep. My heart goes out to you.

workhorse, I completely agree. I expect people to think actual shipping costs are too expensive since Amazon has conditioned people into thinking shipping is free. So those types of messages don’t bother me. And I do appreciate the rare messages I get from people giving me more information on an item I have for sale.
But when people are super dramatic about my eBay listing for no apparent reason? To me that’s a sign that something is amiss with that person. I also block people who send over-the-top and odd messages.
Lauren, you’re not alone. I’ve gotten the same sort of messages occasionally. Once a lady looking for linen fabric read me the riot act because my listing for bedding had the word Linens in the title.
I responded to her message with the definition I looked up in the dictionary: “Linens are fabric household goods intended for daily use, such as bedding, tablecloths and towels.” Then said I hoped she would also contact the dictionary publishers to let them know that according to her one of their dictionary definitions for linens was wrong.
I assume that these sorts of people have anger issues and are looking for a safe place to vent. The up side is it leaves me feeling grateful that I don’t know them IRL.
