10 new listings for me. I’m at 15 total Christmas items for the month so far. And I’m in for the Monday listing mini challenge today.
Wishing everyone a great week!
I have a friend who sells vintage clothing there, but I’ve honestly never even looked at the platform. Your post inspires me to do so. Thanks vintagetimemachine!
11 new listings for me. I’m happy to have met my modest weekly goal.
I’ve listed 9 Christmas items so far in July. One Christmas item sold immediately after I listed it, and I’ve seen other Christmas items I’ve had listed forever also sell this month. There really must be something to “Christmas in July”.
Wishing everyone a great week!
You aren’t alone in experiencing a huge drop in sales in July. July is typically one of my 2 top sales months, but this July has been dismally slow. I never used to understand what sellers meant by “the summer slow down” but now I totally get it!
To be fair I’m listing way less (for Covid reasons) so for me not listing much is probably part of the problem.
07/14/2020 at 6:21 pm in reply to: Advice about customer wanting me to mail back her returned item #79582Jay, I’m pretty sure media mail includes tracking. I ship patterns via media mail all the time and I always get a tracking number and proof of delivery just like with first class mail.
10 new listings for me. I’m surprised I met my humble goal. I’ve been really busy with our young adult relative living with us. I don’t know how those of you with kids manage to get much of anything done!
I’ve started working on Christmas items and I’ve listed 5 so far this month. The Christmas challenge works well for me (with my dwindling death piles) since I do have a box of Christmas items I’ve never listed because they’re low dollar. But at this point I’ll be glad to get them out of my basement whatever the selling price.
Wishing everyone good health and a great week!
I vote for the Chanukah items to count, and Kwanzaa too!
I only listed a measly 3 items. But now that my relative has arrived and is set up in our guest room I’m hoping to get more eBay business accomplished this week. It’s going to be super hot here for the next week so I imagine I’ll be in the house instead of pursuing my usual outside biking, hiking and kayaking activities. Fingers crossed on that!
VL and Amatino, you’ve had some health scares for sure! Wishing you both a fast and complete recovery.
I purchased bubble wrap from ghalys a few months ago. Sharyn had recommended them a while back. My delivery got stuck on the east coast for a week after ghalys shipped it (not because of ghalys; I think it was a NY/NJ shipping during the height of the pandemic issue) and their customer service was exceptional. ghalys immediately sent out a duplicate order via priority mail after I contacted them. When I ended up receiving both the original and the duplicate orders they let me keep everything at no extra charge. The quality of the product seems fine to me; I wouldn’t order bubble wrap from anyone else.
Hi All!
Posting early because I’ll be out of town on Monday.
8 new listings for me.
Happy 4th of July!10 for me. Made my goal using the Pomodoro Technique, I found it very helpful.
Best wishes to all for a peaceful and calm week. And good health for Amatino!
I had a pretty nice little etsy business in 2016/2017 that sometimes generated very close to the same $ sales per month as my eBay store.
Then etsy started a “pay for placement” campaign where you had to pay additional fees to get good placement for your items in search. After that if anyone searched for lowest price first, the items that paid for placement with higher prices showed up before the lowest priced ones. I did try paying the fees for placement but for my lower value items there was no longer much profit after paying the fees. I stopped paying the fees and at that point my sales dropped and continued to drop until I ended up having several zero sales months in a row.
I completely abandoned etsy as a sales platform in early 2019 for those reasons. But if your items are higher priced you could pay the placement fees and probably still make a profit. I also don’t even know if the “pay for placement” is still in effect since I’ve not been on etsy for about 18 months. I like etsy as a selling platform but for lower priced items it ultimately didn’t work for me.
8 new listings for me this week, so better than last week, but not by much. It’s not the number I was hoping for this week, but it is what it is.
Wishing everyone a good week ahead!
Sonia, I agree with you completely. There are a lot of people out there making a living in ways I don’t agree with but unless it’s illegal it’s a free country, and to each his own. I don’t agree with selling reselling courses, classes, lunches or the like but it’s legal and the fact that I don’t like it is my own problem. If I don’t like something I just don’t participate, and we all have that freedom of choice.
Ouch, only 6 new listings for me. I think this may be my lowest listing week since I joined the challenge in 2018! I don’t really have a valid excuse, I just have a lot going on. I’m preparing for a relative to move in with us for 2 months starting in July and since I’ll be on vacation the last week of June I’m trying to get the prep done early.
Vintage Lacy: Happy Birthday to your Mom! What an emotional week you’ve had, I wish you peace and serenity this week. And I’m with you on your vow to make this a better listing week.
Wishing everyone a great week, especially Amatino. I’m thinking of you and sending positive vibes for good health!
Hello Challengers,
Happy June! 10 new listings for me.
Wishing you all a great week ahead!
