Retro,
!7-7! for me, 3-4 days a week, I hear you and I’m thankful for the hanging space!Just as I submitted my last post here, full payment came in, who knows if my little note had any bearing on the ‘promptness’.
Thought to jump in here since I just accepted a best offer for an old Bread Advertising door pull tin sign. Worth around $150, I listed at $300 make an offer, and then a decided to run a 50% off sale on it. The offer came in at $135, it’s one my “just get whatever for it” consignments, so I accepted. I decided to write this on the invoice I sent. Who knows if any leverage?
“With best Offers, I decline any offer, change the item price to the offer price, and email the buyer. I do this because a large percentage are not paid. With typical Buy It Now, immediate payment is required. This insures that the item is not taken off the platform for days, sometimes never paid for. This is especially important as we are into the Hoidays. After reviewing your feedback, and respecting your honorable offer, I decided to simply accept!
Most Sincerely, and thank you, Tom”The buyer is US AND has been a member for 5 years, with 345 feedbacks, many thanking the buyer for a prompt payment. Prompt is not the same as Lightning Fast, Immediate, or Fast in my book.
You know, we do what we can!11/27/2018 at 1:53 am in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 387: Do Black Friday, Small Business Saturday or Cyber Monday Matter? #52332Late to post, life happenings! Etsy listed first since it outperformed eBay for the second time since keeping numbers like this. Have not listened yet, which is unusual for me! Combined total $477.35, not so hot, Cost of items sold nice and low however, and no consignment payouts.

Great Lock Show! I have dived good into the ornamental flat keys (not skeleton). It will be fun to tackle locks the way you have. I recognize just about every brand you show from the much handling of keys to those locks.11/11 – 11/17/18

I love that lock! Learned on Etsy how serious buyers can get over a lock or even a single key to a lock! Great red/gold, authentic age patina, stylish logo shield, lock has it all and presented in a solid context!
Nice!Awesome on the Ham, cool on the Crayons, Amazing ultra cool on the Aluminum Tree!!
Nice to know on the meat slicers,, great sale!
Interesting note on the springs, UK buyer also paid $60 for Priority Shipping. People want what they want.
Same here on the pic, and I knew she was a winner.
If that tree looks good when lit, should be a seller, I normally shy away from those trees, yet the watchers piled up and the sale did not take too awful long.Steve,
Diverse sales! I tip my hat to you on packing that lamp. I had that experience last week with one of those porcelain light up Christmas trees, made just enough on it to feel OK suffering through the pack job. The tinkering you do with the hifi stuff is always impressive. Some interesting sales for me last week:
I posted this on the Podcast comments, worth a re post, found this 70’s photo in an old rusty Snap-on toolbox, paid $1, sold for $40. (Wish there were 50 different snapshots of ladies posing with their cars!)

Tough pack job but i was in the Christmas Spirit.

It helped that the subject matter is saloon style line dancers! Basically a bonus found in a HUGE toy buyout earlier this year.

I’m looking at tin cutters again after this! Wow! Awesome price on that lot of 25!
Class, yes sir, and Character, time tested
I get that for sure. That’s an eventual certainty for everyone who makes videos. You have to be willing to deal with it on some level or choose not to deal with that at all. I forgot about that.
It would steal my peace, personally, so yeah, I get it! -
