Looks like the app updated to 6.1.0 yesterday. I couldn’t find any setting in the app. eBay is so weird sometimes.
Pandemic Unemployment Assistance. It’s the program they set up for unemployment insurance for self employed/gig workers like us. Were you denied for regular unemployment or the new PUA? Seems like you guys have an air tight claim – I mean your county is literally not allowing you to be in business.
Sorry I’m late to the party. I just filed for unemployment in GA. I figure the worst they can do is say no. With almost no way of sourcing, I do consider myself affected by all this. In GA, they’re making self-employed folks file for ordinary UI, get denied, and then file for PUA. GA is supposedly going to have everything up and running on the 22nd, so we’ll see. Anyone else file? Any updates? I’ll try to keep you guys updated on how it goes.
I called in this morning before seeing your post and the rep closed the case. Are you saying the buyer can still return the item?
I’m using an iPhone 7.
We listed about 75 items on Poshmark as a test. We don’t do any of the sharing, liking, joining parties and stuff like we’re supposed to. We’re list it and forget it people. So far, we’ve sold zero items. Maybe poshmark isn’t for us.
Now you’ve got me interested Ryanne. When I first read this post, I was just thinking that all this would really do is save me from going shopping for a while, but transferring listings makes a lot of sense. How much are you asking for everything Stalix?
That’s awesome and actually gives some hope. Thanks for sharing!
Would it be possible to start a list of keywords that have gotten dinged. I didn’t know about ringer. We’ve had a couple over the years for “Velcro” and “Onesie”. It’s a mistake you won’t make twice.
I don’t understand the logic there, but then again, I don’t understand the logic of most thrift stores I visit. Just look at what’s behind the glass…
Don’t forget to ask reddit on these weird items – https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthisthing/
…thrift stores and their love affair with tape. Let’s see… how could I ruin this? I got it. Let’s tape the crap out of it.
Do you mean you adjust your inventory on eBay? We do that as well. I have never adjusted our inventory on Bonanza. That would get old very fast.

My thinking was for a typical item of ours – even if it’s a vintage item, there’s usually dozens if not hundreds of other options for the buyer. If your item is promoted, you know that based on eBay’s formula and the percentage you’re willing to give, your item will make it to the top. For rare/unique items, it may not make as much sense to promote those items.
12/04/2018 at 12:19 pm in reply to: Promoted listings experiment RESULTS: Reducing all promoted listings to 1% rate #52650I don’t visit the forums that often. Came on to see if there was a discussion on the post office closing on Wednesday and saw this post. We’ve been doing Promoted listings for 3 or 4 months now. Our sales are up easily over 50%. We usually do 10% on all our items. I hate the idea of giving eBay more money, but the results are too good. We’re looking at it like hiring an employee. We’re paying eBay a lot less than it would cost to hire an employee and the only other way to ramp up sales is to ramp up our listings. Because we get stuff so cheaply, giving eBay an additional 10% isn’t the end of world if it means making a lot more sales. If we buy a shirt for $3 and sell it for $30, that would be an additional $3 for the shirt using our 10% example. I don’t think it makes much sense for those who don’t have the profit margins to work with like most of us do. Just my 2 cents.
