…”buyers” who think that starting off a negotiation by insulting your items and/or your intelligence in pricing them is a good idea.
I’m selling a pair of railroad lamps. They are missing the clear glass inserts, so I priced them $20 below the ones I sold *with* glass inserts. These are extremely common lamps. The glass won’t be hard to find.
Message from “buyer”: “No glass?!?!? You’ve GOT to be kidding!”
Merry Christmas to you too, buddy! Enjoy this hot block coming your way.

… buyers who honestly believe that a $5 offer on a $50 item is acceptable, and that by going up $1.50 for consecutive bids will make you suddenly decide you are quite happy to take it!

I had offers turned off for a $200+ item and got at least 4 to 5 messages a week from the same person, usually something along the lines of “This sells for $150 easily. I will also need free shipping. Change the price in 30 minutes – I will pay then”
After 3 weeks they apparently just looked at all the photos and replied with: “Wow, I just noticed those MAJOR defects. OK, it’s definitely only worth $120. Accept offer”
Low offers and 3 weeks of messages without even looking at the pictures/description. Truly exceptional.

Remember buyers are just people and people are stupid.
And they don’t seem to be getting any smarter.
I ignore and or block when they become pests. -

…thrift stores and their love affair with tape. Let’s see… how could I ruin this? I got it. Let’s tape the crap out of it.

Or stores that use marker to price items ON the item.

Blame thiefs for the marker and/or difficult to remove price labels. There is a TON of shoplifting in thrift stores. I’ve talked to the managers at all the local stores about it.

I don’t understand the logic there, but then again, I don’t understand the logic of most thrift stores I visit. Just look at what’s behind the glass…

…why people donate computers, laptops, phones, and other items full of personal information, photos, and videos.
The craziest one we ever bought was a purse with a wallet inside it – the wallet was full of credit/bank cards and personal documents (all obsolete).

…when thrift stores or estate sales print out what something is priced on ebay, not SOLD, but just listed on ebay. i’ve even seen my own ‘not yet sold’ item printed out. (haven’t sold it yet, so guess i won’t be buying this one either!).

…when you counter-offer a buyer with a good deal on the item and tell them why you can’t give it to them at the price they want because it already includes free shipping and this is the best/lowest offer you can give them, they come back with another lower offer within minutes! thanks for showing me this will not be a good transaction because of your inability to read, block, bye.
