I bought 2002 Caravan a couple years ago, I haul the dogs, 8×4 sheets of styrofoam and use it for garage sales and auctions.
I removed the seats but they do take up space in my garage.
It keeps on going with 190k miles.
I lease a new Outlander but don’t drive it much, I’m thinking of replacing both my vehicles with a late model Caravan or Town & Country with the stow and go seats. Such a great utility vehicle.Nice jacket story.
I parallel your thoughts on being passionate about all things vintage. Having them pass through my store making me money and letting me experience them is what keeps me going.I’ve been holding on to my Bell & Howell 8mm projector. I made the mistake once of selling a projector only to come across some more movies.
I need to find a Super 8 and a 16mm as well.-

I think the term hustle as it is used by the younger generations (I’m 59) because of the dictionary definitions, it outsider, risky, back alley cool like we’re not regular.
For me it’s like saying I’m not averse to ripping someone off.
I don’t like it.Update- found the problem.
I had been going back and forth between iPhone app and iPad web page to creat this listing and add a video link and for some reason Letter was selected instead of large package so that eliminated the Parcel Select option. Thanks, I did ship out a Parcel Select order this morning as well but this amp I’m listing is only 30lbs and I’ve always had the option when creating a listing but not today.

I usually work for 3-4 hours in the morning and take it easy the rest of the day. Although I’m always staying alert looking for home run deals via CL & FB, ready to go anytime I need to.
I try not to beat myself up over how much or little I’ve listed or how slow sales are at the moment, kinda takes the fun out of this unique venture.
Find cool weird stuff cheap and average over $50 a sale, all is well.I call myself a “for profit archeologist”.

• Cost of items purchased this week $0My biggest concern with free return would be the buyer who filters for it is probably the one most likely to return items.
Clothing would be very susceptible to this practice. The phone must’ve been in a rare color?
Red, aqua, yellow and orange seem to get the best money.Feb 25-Mar 3 2018

• Cost of items purchased this week $475Everything came together last week for a quick trip to Colorado, I found a guy on one of my FB stereo groups who had a Reel to Reel Tape deck like the one I sold a few weeks ago for $500. That one was working but it was a little rough and I had no knowledge of it’s repair history.
This one I paid $400 but it was completely gone through electronically and mechanically. It’s in superb physical condition as well so it should at the very least go for double.
The weather was great, I hit many small town antique and thrift stores, not the bounty I was hoping for but some interesting items.
And with my handling time extended I was still able to sell quite a few high end items and no one wished to cancel.02/26/2018 at 1:50 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 349: Having A Huge Inventory Is Not The Goal, It’s The Strategy #33911Feb 18-24 2018

• International 4 GSP
• Total Sales $3160
• Highest Price $1800 hand carved chess set
• Average Price Sold: $144
• Returns: 0
• Cost of Items Sold: $502
• Cost of items purchased this week $60I usually don’t track my packages to determine if they’ve arrived but the chess set was another matter. I saw that it had arrived on Friday and each time I received new feedback I’d check to see if it was from that sale.
Last night I saw an eBay message pop up and recognized the buyer ID and a feeling of dread overcame me, usually you only hear complaints but it was a thank you for the great transaction and packing….whew!I drove through some snow to attend our local auction about 20 miles south of town. Although I have plenty of experience I’m not a fan of winter driving, having been a professional driver and driving in the worst conditions imaginable I really try and avoid it now. But I knew there would be lower attendance and some good deals to be had.
I spent a total of $60 on a van full of box lots, the highest bid was for a Coleman steel belted cooler at $9. If a box lot had just one item of interest I would get it for 3 or 4 dollars. Some really good stuff like boomboxes, old metal toys, watches, car parts and a ton of old ceramic doo dads and gee gaws.02/26/2018 at 1:38 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 349: Having A Huge Inventory Is Not The Goal, It’s The Strategy #33908I sold 2 sets of Jarts last summer on FB marketplace for $100 each and I had more buyers wanting them.
I would price comparably and play up the fact that the buyer can frame as desired and the shipping cost will be substantially lower.
