I sold an empty Tang jar for $28.95.

I looked at old advertisements to figure out that it dated to 1963 or before. Tang started in 1959.

When I went to list today (wed Oct 05) I found I had been opted into the new listing tool. It took me a while to figure it out, but now I’m getting used to it. Just another improvement that eBay has made that wasn’t needed. I think the main reason for it is to make the desktop and mobile listing tools the same.
My favorite sales for September were an Atari stoneware coffee mug that sold for $60 which I purchased years ago for $2.75 and a pair of roller skates for $50 which I found for free on one of my after dinner walks.
Many years ago, I road my bicycle from Boston to Washington D.C. The only problem I had during the trip, except for flats, was when at a campground in New Jersey somebody stole my bike pump.

August was another slow month for me, but Sept. is looking much better for sales
, I just hope they keep up.09/09/2022 at 12:48 pm in reply to: Fire King Mug, Vaporizer, Garcia poster, Carhartt jacket, Printers drawer #97624Steve, I was surprised to see a poster from the Phoenix Theater. I have gone to many a show there and still do occasionally. It is a great little theater that even has skate ramps up front near the stage for the kids in between bands. Seeing the printer’s type drawer reminded me that I have a few of those to list and ship. I’m going to head over to my local U-Haul and purchase a couple of their mirror mailing boxes (about $7 each) so I’ll be prepared to ship them when they sell.
Thanks for the clarification.
You should check out the blog “Things I find in the Garbage” at: https://garbagefinds.com/. He hasn’t posted recently, but it is amazing how much stuff including gold and silver he finds thrown out on the streets in Montreal, Canada.
And @sharyn, It would be great to see images of what you find. That video game and console haul you made was fantastic and must have been exciting when you discovered what you came across. I’m getting too old to go jumping in and out of dumpsters now, but I use to hit up Apple, Atari, Intellivision, and many other dumpsters in Silicon Valley years ago. I miss those days, most companies have compactors now.

I did have over $1,000 in sales for June – then the return happened. At least it was for ‘buyer changed mind’ so I got to deduct the original shipping.
At an ephemera clearance sale, which was $1 per item, I spent $188 on a very random collection of old paper. I was in line when it opened, the first room was full of tables of postcards, many people already in the chairs provided and shifting through the boxes. It took me about 10 seconds to make my way to the back patio and to start digging through the boxes of other ephemera stuff. I’ve listed only 25 of the items so far, but already 5 have sold for a total of $182. Old paper is one of my favorite things to research and sell.
Did anyone else have problems with eBay’s shipping excluded regions form? My listings show 11 excluded countries (all added by eBay), but I haven’t been able to add them to the list. With the new requirements for shipping to Germany, I tried to add them, but no luck. The form is on the Manage Shipping Settings Page: https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf
Years ago, when eBay had events in the S.F. Bay Area, the two events I attended over the years not only had an open bar but also free food, which was actually pretty good, along with free entertainment. Of course, that wasn’t all day, but just after the conferences and lectures at the end of the day.
Craig Rex, by any chance did you hear about the 13 year old kid that purchased a box of Panini Prizm Football cards and found a card that he sold for $100,000.00? Here is a link to the story on Kovels: https://www.kovels.com/news-news-news/caught-on-camera-rare-football-card-found-sells-for-100000.html

A very happy day for him and his family.
May was one of my slowest months in over a year. I wonder if buyers are holding back due to a possible recession or maybe a lack of spending money due to the increase in prices of food, gas, and almost everything else that has to be shipped.

Number of items listed: 62Had a buyer in Canada fail to pick up an item at the post office, so it was returned to me. The buyer then offered to pay shipping again if I would resend it, but I haven’t figured out how to send him a new invoice for shipping. I tried sending him my PayPal email address (somewhat changed to bypass the eBay bots), but no reply to that or a follow-up email. I guess I’ll either refund his purchase price or call eBay and ask what to do.
Just got an email from eBay – another change to required item specifics is coming in July…

Returns: 1 – Undeliverable to a buyer in India – waiting for the return.Congratulations on one year of Broad Porch Coffee, it is great to hear about your adventures with it each week.
I had several days of no sales in April, but overall I did about the same as last month in total sales. The Haunted House model kits both had boxes in very poor condition, but the models inside had not been assembled. I never knew that such was ever made until I found 2 of them at a flea market for $5 each. These were not models of the house but of scenes inside of the house. I love finding vintage Disney stuff, it always sells for good prices. A good bolo is for Disney View-Master Reel Sets, I’ve sold quite a few of those for good money.
One big note, in June, eBay is changing the promoted listing setup. Apparently, if you have promoted listings, eBay is changing the rules which will let eBay, without your permission, change the ad rates, start new promotions on your listings, and do other things. eBay sent out an email about it which you should have received already and may want to read carefully. The Auction Professor on YouTube released a video on April 30th that covers it at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efkX__Ifc_4.
If you want to change your promoted listings settings, here is a link to do that: https://www.ebay.com/sh/mktg/pl. Scroll down to the box that has “Promoted Listings Standard campaigns” and hover over the “End” column to enter an end date. I added an end date to my settings and in the future, I’ll probably just run campaigns on the whole store for a period of a week or two at only 1%.
Okay, I was able to answer my own question. It is a bag from a San Francisco Company called Forty-Nine Square Miles. “49 Sq. Mi.”
-Steve, who just discovered a dust bag for the tote bag in the bottom of the box.

Number of items listed: 44I was slow in listing stuff in March which may be the reason I had a couple of weeks where I would go 3-4 days without a single sale. At least my totals sales are very close to what they were last month.
April has started out good, so far I’ve had 11 sales for $235.90, I hope the rest of the month is this good.
