You might try posting to: http://www.reddit.com/r/translator. It is free, although you might need to start an account (also free). I posted Chinese, Arabic and other languages there and normally get a answer quite quickly, sometimes in minuets and other times a few hours.
02/03/2018 at 11:51 am in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Stereo brochure, Carl Jung book, Typewriter, Bike helmet #32021Ryanne, do you want me to just post the links to the eBay listing and not the photos of what sold? I use a desk top computer and they come across on that okay, but I have no idea what they look like on a tablet or phone. If there is a preferred size for images, I could also resize the images to that.

.I probably sold this too low, I had three offers the morning after listing it an
d then one of the offerers went ahead and purchased it. Paid $15 and sold for $80. Turns out it related to a soldier captured during the battle of the bulge.I bought this because I liked the look of it. I had the writing translated on reddit. This was a low value item, but I mention it because I think it is my first sale to a prob company. Two vintage bakelite wall outlets. Paid .25 and sold for $13.95.
I bought a coffee can full of cast iron items, I didn’t know that these were curtain rings when I first bought them. Paid about $5 and sold for $40.
22 oz. Ocean Water Fresh Fragrance Yankee Candle. Paid $2 and sold for $50.
I always buy vintage repair manuals when I can find them. Continental Aircraft Engines. Paid $1, sold for $54.
I mentioned this is the Monday numbers forum. Paid $7.50 and took a best offer of $150.
And my favorite sale of the month, a Staunton style chess set. I new this was a better set, but was surprised after doing research. Paid $5 and sold for $120.
02/01/2018 at 6:31 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Stereo brochure, Carl Jung book, Typewriter, Bike helmet #31880I tried reposting my what sold post, but received a duplicate post error. Not much I can do about it. It might be nice to have a way to delete a previous post – but then I guess I would have to be able to see it first to do so.

02/01/2018 at 3:33 pm in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Stereo brochure, Carl Jung book, Typewriter, Bike helmet #31865I went to edit my above post and it disappeared, I guess it just isn’t my day. I think the reason my photos didn’t show up above is because they are on a http vs an https site. I just fixed that and hopefully the photos will show up later today.

Okay, I finally was able to listen to the pod cast. About packing peanuts, if you have a heath food store or a vitamin supplement store near you HIT THEM UP. Most of those small bottles come in nice small boxes with lots of packing peanuts. I go to one near me and they are happy to give me a couple large garbage bags full of them each time. They even divides them up into the biodegradable and the non-biodegradable types. I am normally too late to get the boxes because since they take up so much space they put them in there cardboard compacter. Hope this helps somebody save some cash.
This was probably my best month ever, a lot of it is due to information and motivation from J&R’s blog. Thank You both.
Numbers for month of December
Total Listings: 912 (1232 items/total value 27,400)
Sold 84 Items for $ 1624
Cost of Items Sold: $ 208
Highest Price Sold: 3 Tattoo Flash Sheets for $155.75 and 2 Sheets for $80
Average Price Sold: $ 19.33
Spent on new inventory: $278.75
Number of items listed: 79
GSP: 3 – Sweden, U.K. and NorwayMy Hallmark ornaments cache buy seams to of worked out. I purchased a total of 42 ornaments for $152 and have sold 25 for $379. Not a great return on each, but they were easy to list and I still have 17 listed at a value of $198, but those will probably not sell until the end of the year.
Me Tattoo Flash Sheet cache buy worked out much better. I originally bought 27 for a total cost of $170. So far I have sold 24 for a total of $901 and have 3 left at a sales value of $130.
Now back to listing.
I recently sold a Teac Head Demagnetizer to a now blocked buyer. After each sale, I always send an email thanking the buyer with the tracking number. The buyer, about 3 weeks after receiving the package, opened a paypal case stating that they did not authorize buying it on eBay or paying for it with paypal. Paypal at first held my money, but after a few days sent me an email informing me that my money was now available. I have no idea if the buyer received a refund or not, and if they did, if they also got to keep the demagnetizer. A demagnetizer is a strange thing to purchase by accident since it has a very limited use. I think they might of just needed to use it once and wanted to rent it for free, but got to keep it for free. Thankfully it worked out for me, except I haven’t received any feedback from the buyer yet.
12/29/2017 at 12:55 am in reply to: What Sells On eBay: Old shoes, record changer, Portable 8-Track, Heathkit, Cabinet photo, McCoy Owl #29494Thanks for the video Steve. I have a bankers box full of old cabinet cards buried someplace in my death pile. I always thought, since they are mainly of people that they would be yard sale items for a couple of bucks each. Now I’m going to reaccess that thought and list them on eBay instead.
12/25/2017 at 2:18 pm in reply to: Scavenger Life Episode 340: We Reconnect with Cyndi from Amazing Taste #29395I haven’t listed to the Podcast yet, but hope to do so late tonight after dinner with family. I just wanted to remind everybody that has an eBay store to use your quarterly shipping supplies coupon before it expires in less than a week. This link should take you to it: http://sd.ebay.com/subscriberdiscounts.
Happy holidays

Great looking storage building R&J. It is always entertaining and educational to hear what is happening in rural America.
I finally broke the 900 listed items barrier, now on to 1000 listings.
Numbers for month of November
Total Listings: 905
Sold 53 Items for $1,258
Cost of Items Sold: $109
Highest Price Sold: Tie: $80 Computer Card / $80 1st Calvary History Book
Average Price Sold: $23.73
Spent on new inventory: $370 ($144 for a large lot of Hallmark ornaments)
Number of items listed: 100
GSP: 2 including my first one to Russia (Moscow).I visited a consignment store last month that I very seldom go to. Somebody had just that day left off a large lot of the Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments. Somebody had beat me to all of the Disney ones already, but I bought all of the Classic American Cars and all of the All American-Trucks ones. I purchased a total of 40 for $143.99 (including tax). Since there are so many of each already listed, I focused on better photos and item specifics with free shipping. So far I have sold 11 of them for a total of $161.15. Not a high profit item but this time of year they seem to be a steady seller.
I agree with Jay and Ryanne. We play by eBay’s rules, and as pointed out above, they allow for cancellations, even after payment. I’m not sure where I would place the line between underpricing by $10 or $1000 and letting it go or canceling for more money. Under $100 I’m pretty sure I would let it go and make sure I didn’t make the same mistake again. But when it is a few hundred, I’m
pretty sure I would cancel and re-list.On a different subject and pod cast, just curious when the next Shampoo & Booze will be out, I think it has been a couple of months. What made me think about it is this link on military.com about an unusual Air B&B: Military.com
