Thanks to all for the responses,
She did provide photos. It wasn’t nearly as damaged as she claimed. I don’t feel right about rewarding her with a refund for damaging the item after receiving it, but I did it anyway, just to be done with it. Meh.
Luckily I don’t get many of these types of situations!I’m so grateful to you all, thanks again. 🙂
I really appreciate the responses.
She did not send photos, but she offered to. She has not opened a case yet, this is just messages. That is why I am not sure if I should tell her to open a case, or just do nothing and wait for her to open a case on her own. Or…she can do nothing and just leave me negative feedback. If she does open a case it will surely be INAD.
She does not want to return the backpack, she just wants her money back. And we have not even discussed the partial refund. This is just what my Selling Specialist from eBay suggested, that I ask her if she would be okay with a partial refund.

10/01/2017 at 12:54 pm in reply to: Sourcing – Thrift Stores / Estate Sales / Garage Sales / Auctions / Craigslist #23448I prefer yard sales because items are almost always cheaper. I wish yard sales were every day! But, I can only get to those on Saturdays. I work Fridays so those mornings are out for me.
Pretty much same goes for estate sales. Saturdays are generally the half price days so there won’t be as many items, but they’ll be cheaper.
I’m still shy about auctions, only went to one and it wasn’t a typical auction. It was auctioning off leftovers after an estate sale at a hoarder’s house, so it was still packed. It was pretty sweet, I got a lot of stuff for almost nothing.
Thrift stores are great because I can go at almost any time, but unless they are having a sale, the prices here are usually way out of my range, and stuff gets picked over constantly. Once in awhile I can score a deal if the pricers don’t realize the worth of an item and if I happen to be there right after they put it out. Usually the thrift store price is almost equal or equal to the price I would charge! UGH.
I find that if I venture out of the main city to a small town, the deals at thrift stores are better and much less picked over. I will fill up the car at these thrifts!
Once in awhile I’ll get some clearance items from Walmart or another retail store. I usually don’t have much luck in the retail arbitrage department.
I get things from family and friends, also. Awesome!09/10/2017 at 10:12 am in reply to: Invoicing Shipping for Multiple items huge price discrepancy? #22671It’s just baffling me that the invoice shipping calculator said the buyer would owe $14.97 for shipping, and the shipping label then came to $10.05 for my buyer. The same parameters were put into each calculator. That’s quite a difference.
From now on I will just not use that invoice shipping calculator, and go to USPS.com.
I love creepy mannequins!
I got a styro Frankenstein’s Monster head at Michael’s last Halloween time. I use it for most of my hat photos. 🙂 But I also like to take a photo of the hat just on a table, too, if it sits nice.
I have never noticed a fee shown at the end of the listing before I list an item. It always is at $0.
I figured out how to see all my individual fees, shame on me for never checking that out, and there are only final value fees listed. I don’t see any other extras, so I guess all is well. That freaked me out!
I’ll keep an eye on it and make sure I’m not getting charged in the future.
Has anyone had this problem recently? I just noticed that some of the Gallery Plus boxes on my listings were checked, even though I have never checked them. I went through bulk listings and deleted all the Gallery plus from over 500 listings, and when I am re listing stuff, I see the boxes are still checked and will not un-check!!!
I’m not sure how to check and see if I have been charged(over how long a period of time??) I am working on that. I will have to call eBay, too. 🙁
Do you sell more women’s clothing or men’s? If neither, I’d just get a female mannequin first. Maybe I am being stereotypical here, but I feel that women are more likely to want to see what a piece of clothing looks like on a human form before they buy it. In my experience, Men don’t really care as much. Also I would assume that more women shop on line, and shop for clothing in general! My side of the closet is much more full than my husband’s. 🙂
I scavenged a female sewing mannequin from the dumpster near my work. There is a bridal gown store nearby, so it came from there. I never planned on getting a male torso because I don’t sell as much men’s clothing. But, I happened upon one at a yard sale for $5 so I got it.
I also do it manually. For the first few days I’ll send an invoice each day, then I will message them. If I don’t hear anything for a week or so, I’ll start a case.
It is kind of annoying when people purchase and then wait to pay. I don’t get it, especially when you’ve been going back and forth with offers, and they accept. Then don’t pay. LOL So weird!

Thanks! I read the article, very interesting! I’ll give it some thought. Maybe I will cross-post some items from ebay. 🙂 I’m going to be reading more of your info. Thanks, again!
