For me I have realized just how few spots I have scavenge, and if those few spots get closed how thankful I am for my death piles, which I have decided should now be called LIFE piles…
Over the past 6 weeks I have been spending way too much time online reading and learning from other resellers and realize there are basically two trains of thought, toss a huge net and sell what ever you get or specialize in something you enjoy. For now I’m tossing the biggest net I can find…-

Thanks Jay!
Yup, corona and every other mexican beer maker are taking a big hit with all this. Breweries were closed down as non essential, not a good time for any Mexican company that I can think of…Another nice episode. One thing about amazon right now, and always I guess, is there are lots of sellers who do their own fulfillment even with commodity items. There’s alot more to amazon than FBA for selling.
The whole 2 day hold on banking there really stinks, i had totally forgotten about that. I guess it’s just a perk for the banks built in to the system and all banks agreed on it, they get to hold your money for 48 hours and not pay any interest. No need for that sort of thing in this day and age with everything being electronic and instantly connected and confirmed. Here if I deposit a check, even if it’s from a different bank, it is credited instantly to my acct and available, and this is MEXICO…
Scavenging is tough here right now, gov auctions are paused for not sure how long, facebook marketplace is loaded with overpriced stuff here. The few stores I buy from to flip online are mostly closed, it will be nice when all that opens up again…
Sales, just sold a stainless rotating spice rack for $35, one cycling uniform top and bottom for $40, action figure for $40, some used go cart racing tires (!) for $75, and an air rifle scope for $125.
Still listing stuff from our last auction purchase slowly. We’ve got a pile of women’s dresses that would be best for the flea market but all those are closed until who knows when so we are just boxing them up and putting them on the back shelf for now…
Happy hunting all!Almasty, I had a wisdom tooth removed about 3 weeks ago when all this was just getting going. It was my bottom right one, it had been there for YEARS and never really causing much fuss but I guess it had a growth spurt and the pain was unbearable, like wake me up at 3 in the morning bad.
Here they don’t put you under for removal, it was three shots of which I only felt the first one, then put a cover over your face with only an opening over your mouth i guess so you don’t see whats happening. They had to break and extract it in 4 pieces as it was grown in at a terrible angle. The surgeon was very good, telling me what he was doing and telling me what to expect through the surgery, like “you’ll feel pressure now and hear a crack” etc, whole thing was done in 20 minutes.
Best part aside from no more pain, total cost was about $125 dollars and I went to a nice place! Will post numbers after lunch and a quick run to DHL…
Hi,
Yup, prohibited by mail, but you can bring them in luggage. The reasoning is they are trying to protect their home industry, lots of clothing made here. The rules here can be a bit confusing and really not make any sense sometimes…Another nice podcast, it’s nice to have some semi scheduled things to listen to every week for a bit of normalcy!
Sold 2 costume jewelry items on ebay, stuff listed long and and forgotten about $100
A few sales in the past few days on mercadolibre, air rifle pellets for $30 and a silly cars kids inflatable punching bag for $25, and a shot winch cable for $35 bucks.
Still listing stuff from a big lot we bought, doing 10 listings a day to keep busy and also leave ourselves something to do everyday to get some routine going in our lives.
Jay/Ryanne, when the coffee roaster gets up and going will it be the supply for the coffee shop only or also for online sales? Any issues getting the health certs for the product?
I really like your plan with the building. I’ve got a few similar ones to get going here, real estate buy and holds with a moneymaker to keep it going for the hold period.
Best of luck and happy hunting to everyone!-

Almasty, every state is doing their own thing. Yes, the measures I mention are for Yucatan. Next state over, quintana roo where cancun is, is more lax, at least you can buy beer over there!
They are expecting a peak in cases coming between may 2nd-8th more or less so they are putting these conditions in effect before to try to help. Overall still doing well here, cases are under 100 per millon inhabitants, but I imagine that is about to go way up…Sales are pretty strong for me here. Video games, light tools, lego sets. Combination of RA and stuff I got at auction. Wish I could get to my big discount store and buy more video games, they are selling well right now…
A few sales here, some Xbox games and some light tools that I had picked up at a discount place, pretty decent flips. Also sold one of the app controlled R2 Q5 drones, star wars style like r2 d2 for good money.
Big thing is we ran over to Cancun and back on monday to pick up another auction lot we won online. Brought back the higher value stuff in the car and had 2 pallets shipped which arrived the next day. A big mix of stuff, some toys, some sporting goods, decorating stuff, cycling clothing, and 180 something new womens dresses. Been busy listing since Tuesday and I would guess another few days worth to list, woowhoo!
On a side note, they are cracking down further here, 1 person allowed per vehicle, masks must be worn anytime you are outside your house, including in the car. Fines of $1800 dollars and 36 hours of jail for offenders. Stores that allow anyone in without a mask will be shut down by the government, and dry law continues until the end of the month. Fortunately I had bought a few cases of beer when dry law was announced but rations are running low…
Other than that life is awesome!Topnotch, while this type of merchandise is not everyone’s ball of wax if it pays and you can deal with it and get a good enough price I would go for it. If you decide to make an offer one BIG thing I would also ask for is the contact info for all of his suppliers so you can re up in the future if it works out. If they are, as they claim, getting out of the business, that shouldn’t be a problem for them to provide.
Personally I really like bulk, barcoded, easy to list stuff…Thanks all for the kind comments! I’m not a fine woodworker by any stretch of the imagination, just patient…
I just did some quick math and to make the two units you could do it with 7 sheets of plywood, i used 5/8 inch, about a box of sheetrock screws, some cheap hinges and ten wheels total.
Your costs will obviously vary, but the plywood is the biggest expense, here I get 5/8 for about $26 per sheet, but that varies greatly depending on where you are.
Ballpark estimate would be about $250 for two units in materials.
Like I mentioned, I wanted to do something a bit nicer to look at as they are in my dining room, the rest of my stuff is on shelves.Kentucky, thanks! They are small wheels, maybe 1 1/2 inches tall inset underneath so they can’t be seen, one on each corner and one additional one in the middle to help with any sag because of weight.
Retro, Hahaha, no. That wall is just exposed rock and mortar, i stripped the finish off of it when we were redoing the house…
