that’s a great story. i just watched a show on netflix called “cheapest weddings” some of them have budgets of 6k! i’m like, that’s still too much. as i like to say, that cheapest wedding is no wedding (very swedish, most swedes don’t get married these days). after almost 14 years not married, we’re still going strong. whatever works for you.
we are working with a volunteer web dude to help us show the most liked post somewhere on the sidebar or up top in the forums. agreed.
would love to see documentation of that. i do actually respond to most people with a “nope, sorry”. sometimes they actually just buy stuff outright even after that. but sometimes i just ignore, especially if they keep asking the same thing over and over, like offering the same low price over and over, i just ignore, don’t have time to say “no” every time.
depends on the weight and size of it. basically you want to make sure it’s not going to get damaged, esp if you’re shipping media mail which is ground and can get roughed up in transit. sometimes i’ll wrap a book in cardboard and then put it in a polymailer or bubble mailer, but if it’s really heavy it goes in a box.

i have had a few people make multiple purchases from me, one from their guest accounts, the rest from their established accounts (i could tell because of the same shipping address and name). for that case, she might have forgotten her account info and just wanted to buy quickly. but her other purchases were from an established account that was several years old.
i think they’re just trying to make it as easy as possible for people to buy with no hassles and no long sign up process.
you’re a saint, i wouldn’t have even responded!
409 cleaner on a q-tip, rub it on a piece, if it turns mustard yellow, it’s bakelite. good luck!
the signature is interesting. this is an old lamp. anyone recognize the marking? i believe you are right it says “David” in a stylized script/seal.
or you gotta love clothes shoppers who ask a bunch of questions about color shade, fit, smells, holes, pets etc etc. sometimes we want to say “if you have this much doubt about a used item on the internet, you should probably buy it in person”.
any photos?
it took me about an hour to pack. i double bubble wrapped it, then made a cardboard shell for it, stuffed that full of peanuts, then custom built a box and stuffed that full of peanuts. it took a long time, but i was confident it would get there unscathed.
..go into fancy stores to buy a present, but find a better one in the trash (that happened to me today!!)
when you say she changed the shipping date, where are you seeing that? is there a screenshot you can share?
just a note on Paypal transaction numbers, i believe they are different for the sender and the receiver. so you’ll actually never see the number they gave you and vice versa. have you checked your paypal account for the payment? if it’s not there paypal might be able to look up that transaction number on their end (call them) and be able to point you to it on your end.
you might have a nemesis, but you might also BE someone’s nemesis too right??
(yeah i hate the “single serve” kind too, the ones who never move and block the aisle and don’t care that there are other people in the store etc etc)
